A pair of strong arms pulled you out of the nightmare that had taken over you for the past couple of hours. You didn’t mind that you had no idea how it ended, the only thing that mattered was that you were awake, and that the whole thing wasn’t true. At least, the part you had been dreaming about wasn’t, the rest was still a horrible reality. “Sshhh, don’t cry. You’re safe here, it’s all over.” Baekhyun whispered inside of your hair after tugging you closely to his chest, letting you hide yourself against his firm body. You didn’t say anything to his words and just nestled your face into the fabric of his shirt while the tears rolled down your cheeks. It had been five days since they had taken you, two days since things had happened to you which were too terrible to believe, but which were true. After returning home you had tried to pick your life up again as if nothing had ever happened, hoping that you would be able to do so, but nothing could have been more of a lie then that. You went to work every morning, but didn’t dare to walk there by yourself, so each morning Baekhyun dragged himself out of bed for you so that he could take you there. If you went somewhere you would cling onto him, your wide eyes always observing everyone around you, making sure you didn’t see anything suspicious. It was a hateful thing, the fact that you were scared and traumatized by what had happened. You wanted to make it seem as if you were stronger that that, but unfortunately you couldn’t. He didn’t seem like he cared, he always made sure you weren’t alone and that if he had to leave you that he would stay in touch with you. Even though you knew he didn’t mind spending more time with you and taking you under his wing, you knew it hurt him to see you like this. 

It hurt him to hear you mumbling in your sleep, trying to escape the horrible events that happened over and over again in your dreams. He hated to see how you were scared to go to bed at night, knowing what would be waiting for you if you would close your eyes. He couldn’t help but smile sadly at you as you told him for the third time during a day that you were taking a shower because you couldn’t rinse of the dirt you felt on your skin. Still, he was always there and he hadn’t once seemed as if he was planning to leave. He took it all for you, and tried to carry your pain with his. He deserved better and you knew it. He deserved someone who wasn’t broken and used, just like you were, but each time you tried to tell him that he would become upset and angry, telling you that you were everything he wanted and everything he needed. Yet, it was hard for you to believe that someone could love you like this, like the person you were right now. You felt like the shadow the girl you had once been, as if you had faded to the background, had locked yourself up in a cage inside of your head, unwillingly to come out. But no matter how confused you were that he wanted to stay, you were so happy that the didn’t leave. Because seeing him laying beside you as you woke up from a bad dream, him holding you in your arms and comforting you, him telling you that you were beautiful and that he was going to keep you safe was everything you wanted. You knew that as long as he would stay around that you would be fine, and though you couldn’t see that time nearing soon, you knew it would one day. Though the fear of that one moment he wouldn’t be able to handle it anymore and would go and leave you by yourself consumed you, it was a trigger inside of your mind that was constantly ready of being pulled. 

His hands smoothly eased up and down your back, playing with the ends of your hair while whispered sweet things inside of your ear. Slowly your heart beat began to slow down to its normal speed and you relaxed against his form, feeling the warmth from his chest. It seemed as if as long you stayed inside of this bedroom nothing could come for you but as soon as you would step out, the world was a cruel place that tried to close you in. The men got arrested, were locked up in jail by what they had done to you and the thought that you would have to testify in court next Wednesday to tell them your version of the facts scared you to death. But Baekhyun had promised you that he would come with you, that he would be there for you during each step of the way and that comforted you. It didn’t matter how weak and beaten you felt, they were going to suffer for what they had done to you, and you were going to make them. “Do you want to talk about it?” His soft voice filled the room, making your thoughts float away from yourself so that you could focus yourself on him. Ever so slowly you lifted your head to look up at him and saw how he did the opposite so he could look down on you, a sweet and reassuring smile lingering around his lips. The look on his face made you wonder what you had done to deserve a wonderful man like him, you had never given him anything that no other girl would be able to give him, you had only taken from him.
