When the doorbell rang you wondered if you were supposed to dry your tears, and open the front door with the last bit of dignity you still had left, or if you should even bother to make an effort. You took a deep breath as you wrenched your hands together, your fingers turning white because of lack of circulation. The buzzing went off again and you closed your eyes as you tried to pull yourself together. For a second you weren’t sure if you would even make it down the hallway, but somehow you managed to get up from the couch and make your way through the house. You had gone through several phases in the past hour. At first there had been denial, before you had checked the facts and had figured out that everything pointed out the truth in front of your eyes which you had been unable to see. Then there was sadness and hopelessness, blaming yourself and feeling deep guilt. But by now you could feel the slightest flame of rage build up inside of you, ready to set the scene on fire. You pushed your head up and your shoulders back as you reached the door and unlocked it. immediately the person on the other side took his chance and pushed the door of the small apartment open, causing you to stand eye to eye with the person who had caused all this mess. 

In his eyes you could see the anger you felt reflected, but you knew that his feelings wouldn’t last for long. Yours, on the other hand, would probably exist for an extremely long time. “What the hell is going on?! Why the hell can’t I enter my own ing house?!” His voice was stern and loud, but you could hear the slightest of hesitation inside of it. You didn’t know if he had somehow guessed what was about to happen of if it was simple disbelieve for your actions. To your own surprise you stayed extremely calm through out the whole thing as you heaved a deep sigh, turned around and began to make your way back towards the living room. On the way there you told him one important fact. “I let them change the locks.” You muttered and the footsteps you had heard coming after you suddenly faded away. When you turned around you could see Baekhyun staring at you with a shocked expression on his face, his useless key still dangling from his hand. “Why?” He asked, and you knew that if you hadn’t been so convinced of the truth and if there hadn’t been as many evidence you would have started to doubt yourself. 

He looked very convincing and innocent, as he stood there like that. The look of a little, lost boy on his face while he was staring you right in the eye. If only made you even more angry, that he was trying so hard to hide things from you. He didn’t even have enough respect for you to tell you the truth straight in your face, now that he knew that it was almost game over. “You can stop lying to me, I know everything. She called this morning, to ask you when you were meeting up with her. She can’t wait for you to rip her clothes off and shamelessly let you her on her parents couch. How sweet of her to call to tell you that.” All of a sudden all the color drained from his face and you could see that he finally seemed to understand what this was all about. He opened his mouth a few times, but closed it without saying anything. You knew you had surprised him, he hadn’t expected you to figure out. A flame unlighted inside of you. He had never planned on telling you anything. “Baby…I swear…” He started but you didn’t even thought about listening to him as you cut him off in the middle of his sentence. You turned the corner and grabbed a hold of the bag you had hidden behind the wall all this time, just to reveal it to him. You hadn’t thought it was possible for him to become even more unsettled, but it seemed like you’d been wrong. 

“I changed the locks and the passwords, you can just leave your key behind. I also packed a few of your things, the basics to get through the next few days. I’m sure she won’t mind if you crash on her parents couch after ing her on it. You can get the rest within a few days if you want, when I’m nog home, I’ll leave a key behind. I also contacted a lawyer, she’ll call you tomorrow about the divorce papers which should get signed.” You had never expected you’d be able to say all of this without bursting into tears, but surprisingly enough your eyes were totally dry. Not that you weren’t breaking down inside. You could feel everything crumbling down part by part and once he’d be out of the door you would crash onto the floor and cry your heart out. But as long as he was here, you wouldn’t shed a tear. “Honey please, don’t you think you’re moving a little fast? You’re upset and hurt, you can’t think properly. We can’t get divorced!
