Home sweet home, I hope everyone's well.
I arrived earlier today after a long flight.

“I swear, if I ever have to go through that again I will kill myself out of frustration, or them. I’m still deciding.” Kate said as she waited patiently beside your locker. You titled your head to the side before rolling your eyes at her dramatic response. She was a great person, but she could overreact sometimes. She would tell the story much differently from what actually happened, with many more juicy details and imaginary facts. Sometimes it was funny to listen to them, because after all the original stories could be quite boring sometimes. But, knowing what she was referring to at this moment, you knew she was being a little too extra. “You knew this before you went with them. Even I was able to see that one coming.” You said as you closed your locker and she joined you to walk towards your first class of the day. She flipped her hair back behind her shoulder and huffed, probably knowing that you were right but not willing to admit it. You looked at her sideways every few seconds while trying to make sure not to bump into anyone as you moved forward. “It’s not like I don’t know that! I just didn’t expect into be this bad! I mean, it’s so nice that his parents asked me to join them on this vacation, but I swear, my parents in law are true monsters.” 

This time you smiled and decided to just let her be. She’d spend four days together with those people, and even though her boyfriend was a sweetheart, you were sure that parents in law could be a real pain in the sometimes. “You just got lucky! You don’t have any problems what so ever with them. I mean, you once told me that you went out shopping with his mom. Sunggyu’s mother would never ever take me out shopping, she would rather lay in bed with food poisoning all day.” She was right though, you didn’t have any problems with your parents in law at all. They liked you and you liked them. Kate had never met your boyfriend before, he lived a thirty minutes drive from here and you didn’t usually have much time to see each other. You were busy with classes, he was busy with work and when the two of you did come down to see each other, you usually spent your time together rather than going out. He had graduated last year, being one year older than you, as a teacher. It wasn’t easy to find a job and you knew that at this moment he was mostly active as substitute teacher, helping out when someone fell ill. Though, you were sure he would get a full contract soon, after all he was a great person and he was very good at what he did. 

“I’m sure things will work out eventually. It’s not like the two of you will move in with them. Once it’s time you’ll move out and then they won’t be able to bother you anymore, or at least not as much as they do now.” You reassured her, reaching the door of your classroom and stopping there to give her one more intense look. You did feel bad for her and her situation, but it wasn’t like she was going to marry her parents in law. It was her boyfriend she had to be able to live with and as long as things were fine between them then everything was great. This seemed to cause her to think because she was silent for a long second before she shrugged her shoulders in defeat. “You’re probably right, I’m stressing over nothing.” The way she said it you weren’t sure who she was trying to convince, you or herself. Deciding to leave her be you entered the room and zig zagged between the many desks before reaching your own usual seat. With a big sigh you dropped yourself on your chair and rested your books on top of your table. You weren’t really a Monday morning person. You rather spent your time in bed instead of waking up early to make it to class. Each morning you had to convince yourself that it was totally worth going and that if you wouldn’t get out of bed you would fail. The big problem was just that this wasn’t the right course to give on a Monday morning. The theory was boring and easy, what caused most people to sit through this class without actually paying attention. 

Looking up towards the smart board in front of the room you were surprised that it wasn’t the back of misses Julian you were looking at. The small teacher would have made a comment by now about people always being late for her classes, even though it was so important for people to pay attention. She was a great woman, that wasn’t the problem, it was just that she couldn’t seem to keep everyone’s attention at where it had to be. Yet, it seemed that today there was going to be someone else in charge of you. There was a tall guy standing at the front of the classroom, his dark blue shirt striking against the background. Though, your toes started tingling when you watched his figure, that was how familiar he looked. He may have never stood in this classroom before, but you had definitely met this man before you sat down a few seconds ago. If he would only turn around so you were able to see his face then you were sure you would recognize him. As if he had been waiting for that thought to cross your head he his heels, and you swore your heart skipped a beat inside of your chest when your eyes scanned his features. How could you not have recognized him from just looking at his back side? You should be able to recognize him everywhere, and from any angle. It was just that you hadn’t expected him here, the last place  you had expected to see him had been at this classroom, during your first period. At first you weren’t even sure if he had seen you yet, but then his gaze found yours. 

He didn’t look as shocked as you did when you had first realized who he was, so you guessed that he had seen the lists of names from his students before he had agreed to substitute this class. A smile spread across his face and you swore you could have fallen from your chair right there and then when he winked at you secretly. You couldn’t believe that your boyfriend was going to be your teacher today. You leaned back against your chair when he sat down on the edge of his desk and crossed his arms over his chest. His eyes were watching the crowd as the students filled the room, but once in a few minutes his gaze would jump back to you to scan your face. This was awkward. You couldn’t believe that you were actually dating your teacher at this very moment. Yet, it was also nice to see him work. For such a long time you had wondered what kind of teacher he was. How he taught his students and how he kept their attention. The fact that he was good looking didn’t count in on this one. He looked so relaxed while sitting there, totally not stressed out because there was a room of people in front of him who he didn’t know. Even though he had been doing this for quite a while, he still looked as if this was something he had been doing for his whole life. You hoped that one day you’d be just as good in your job as he seemed to be right now.
