“So you’re telling me you were never planning on going to school here?” You asked, dumbfounded. Just like you had done the previous five minutes you turned your head to look at him, just so you could stare into his blue eyes for a second before turning your head back towards the road. He shook his head as he took another bite from his muffin, and you almost wanted to throw it out of the window when you noticed what a mess he was making inside of your car. The first few days with Nate had been kind of rough. It seemed that he was kind of a loner, who didn’t want you to take him anywhere and who wasn’t planning on getting to know this town because he hoped to get out of here very soon. It wasn’t like he wasn’t friendly to you, when he said something he was never mean, but the occasions he talked to you were very rare. When you tried to make a conversation with him, he kept his answers short and simple, so you didn’t get to know too much about him, which caused you to get only more curious about him. You couldn’t help but be convinced that underneath that rough edge, there was a great guy. You had caught him laughing a few times and you realized you loved the sight of it. Of course you knew that was a bad sign. You had promised yourself that you wouldn’t get involved with someone new this fast. Your heart was still healing and you were sure you couldn’t handle it if It would get crushed again this soon. 
 

But that was okay, it wasn’t like you were in love with this guy or anything. You barely knew him. Though, you did really enjoy it when he walked around the house in the morning with just his sweatpants on, god, yes, you really liked that. It had caused you to forget the drama you were going through. For the past few days you had barely thought about Baekhyun and his new girlfriend and it had felt really good. “No, my mom secretly took care of it and applied me to this high school so I wouldn’t have to miss too much. I told her I’d be fine but she didn’t buy that.” He seemed a little bit more talk active today, maybe because he was nervous for his first day. Even if he was, then he surely wasn’t showing it, and he never would. He was much too proud for that. “Right, because you’ve only got straight A’s, right?” You gave him a smug look and he pulled up one of his eyebrows before rolling his eyes. When his lips curled up into a small smile you couldn’t help the feeling of victory that crushed into you. It felt as if making him happy was a very hard task to fulfill and the fact that you could make him smile made you feel great. “I thought you’d be thrilled to go. Hitting on some girls, breaking some hearts and then leave. Isn’t that your goal in high school? I mean, you seem like the type.” Which was exactly the reason why you shouldn’t get involved with him. A guy like him was bad news, any girl like you should be able to smell that from miles away. He was the one who always hooked up with the popular girls and who usually didn’t even look at a girl like you. How pathetic. 
 

He sniffed, but said nothing as he took another bite of his pastry. The silence that fell was timed perfectly as you sent the car up the parking lot and tried to look for a spot between all the four wheeled vehicles. “You don’t drive?” You asked when you found a square that seemed good to fit your car in and you tried not to embarrass yourself by having to try at least four times to get in between the lines. “I do, but I have a motorcycle, cars are so old fashioned.” Now it was your turn to send him a look and once again your interests were triggered. “I’ve always wanted to ride one.” You muttered as you shut down the engine and turned around to reach for your bag on the backseat. He easily pulled his from between his legs as he took hold of the door handle. “I don’t think so, no one’s riding my sweetheart but me. Though you could join me, cuddled up against me. It could be fun.” He gave you a teasing look and you couldn’t help it as your cheeks turned bright red. He hadn’t flirted with you before, at least not when your mom had been close enough to hear it. He was still very reserved and careful around her, as if he disliked being around adults as much as she disliked being around him. For a moment you couldn’t do anything else than stare straight into his blue eyes and you could have lost it right there and then. Suddenly he turned his head, as if something else had caught his attention and you let out a deep breath, glad that his spell over you was undone. He would be the dead of you one day, maybe it was good that he wasn’t staying that long. You wouldn’t survive it if he would stay, your heart couldn’t handle it. 
 

He was looking extremely good today though, a dark green shirt, dark jacket and some nice and tight jeans. Even though it was freezing out, he still seemed dressed for summer, you wondered how he did that. You on the other hand were covered in all different kinds of layers, topped with a big scarf. It was as if you two were the exact opposite of each other. He was y and confident, you were stuffed and lost. “Do you know that guy, who’s waving at us like a crazy guy?” You blinked your eyes in surprise before following his look to see what he mean
