A soft sigh passed your lips as you put the last plate in the dishwasher and closed it with your foot while rotating your body towards the counter and turning the page of your book. It wasn’t easy to do so many things at the same time and surely not since you weren’t used to it. But by now you had had some months to fall into it and you had slowly started to get used to your busy evening routine. The new house was modern and big, actually a little bit too big for only two people to live in it. All the latest stuff and technology was available and it had taken you a while before you had figured out how to use it all. By now you were confident enough to do everything yourself without Baekhyun having to help you out. He always hated it if you’d come to him and ask him for help. Actually he hated it if you would talk to him in general, no matter what the conversation was about. You had given up on trying to get a connection with him a while ago, it wasn’t going to work. Keeping your hopes up while knowing it wasn’t going anywhere near the way you wanted it to was making you more down than you had expected. So you had just stopped trying. He didn’t seem to mind, he seemed happy that you had finally decided to give him some space and to leave him alone. 

How horrible was it, to have to marry a guy who couldn’t even have a normal chat with you? Your parents had arranged your marriage half a year ago and they had immediately put the both of you in a house together and had left you to figure out the rest yourselves. Of course you hadn’t been happy with how things had gone, but at least you were still trying to make the best out of it. If you two were stuck with each other anyway than why not get to know each other a little better and find out if maybe this could be something? But Baekhyun was angry at everything and everyone and especially you it seemed. But how could all of this be your fault? You hadn’t asked your parents to find you a husband, you had never wanted them to look for someone you could marry. Who didn’t dream of finding the perfect guy and to fall in love at first sight and to stay together forever? You wanted a relationship like that, you wanted to feel wanted. But Baekhyun never spoke to you if it wasn’t really necessary, leave alone that he cared about you in any kind of way. He hated you for making him having to marry you, though it wasn’t your fault and you were just as much of a victim as he was. 

The most horrible part about this was probably that he was such a great guy and you were sure that if he would open up to you that maybe it could work. Your parents had been good matchmakers and they had tried to find you someone who was your type, someone you would be able to fall for. Baekhyun was handsome and you found him very attractive, but he acted like a real jerk around you. It was only when he was around his friends that you got to see who he really was and you could only make up that he was a nice person and that you would be able to like him if he would only show you a little part of that person sometimes. Realizing that you had gotten distracted from your textbook you squeezed your eyes close for a few seconds before opening them and pushing your glasses a little higher onto your nose. You hated it to wear these things, but you wouldn’t be able to read a single letter of the words that were standing there without your glasses or contacts. Knowing that Baekhyun would be getting home from work soon you made sure that the place was cleaned up and tidy so that he could rest as soon as he arrived. He was the one who had a job, you were two years younger than him and you were still a student in college. 

After you believed that everything was done you walked over to the couch and crossed your legs underneath you before laying your book in between your legs. You still had to read two more chapters to prepare for tomorrows class. Because of the changes in your personal life it suddenly had gotten much harder to combine your studying with your normal life. You had a household you had to take care of, a fiancee who didn’t even want to be your fiancee and a wedding to plan. Plus, you couldn’t stop thinking about a possible way to get out of this mess. If you could find another guy your parents found good enough for you to get married to then maybe you could stop this whole thing. Once you had gotten married then you were stuck at each other and you didn’t think you wanted to spend the rest of your life like this. The messy bun on your head moved slightly as you lifted your head to look up at the man who walked inside of your house. Baekhyun had a deep frown on his face as he put his bag down on the dining table and began to loosen the tie around his neck. He was looking great in his work uniform, he was wearing a skinny jeans, a costume jacket and a nice button up shirt. 

Just like every other day he looked worn out and tired and you wondered what his boss had made him do this time. You had caught up some of his conversation against his friends or parents as he had been talking about his job, but he didn’t tell you much about it. “Rough day?” You asked in the hope that today would be any different than other days and he would magically be nice to you for once. But instead of answering you he let out a big and frustrated sigh as he popped open a few buttons of his shirt and pushed his sleeves up until his elbows.
