There he was, your best friend Byun Baekhyun. He was standing next to your looked, leaning against the iron so he wouldn’t have to do too much effort to stand up. He was looking charming today, but you didn’t feel like telling him that. You liked what he had done to his hair this time, it wasn’t a secret that he liked to dye his hair from time to time. You smiled at the thought that he stood there waiting for you, there weren’t a lot of people who had such a great best friend as you did. “Hey Baek.” You greeted him and he smiled at you as he looked up from his book. You frowned at the thought of Baekhyun readying something and looked down to the cover to see that it was his history book. You rolled your eyes at him and he gave you an innocent look. “I didn’t have time to study last night!” He quickly said and you nodded, Baekhyun never had time to study for one reason or another. 

You opened your locker and pushed all the books yo didn’t need inside before grabbing your math book and holding it against your chest. You hated it when you and Baekhyun didn’t have classes together, you always felt so alone. He was your seat partner and when you had to sit next to someone else than him you’d always feel a little lost. Not that you didn’t have friends besides Baekhyun but he was a nice person to sit next to, he always helped you out. “Are you going to make it?” You asked and he pouted before shaking his head. “Probably not, it’s a little more than I remembered. I guess another F won’t make such a big difference anymore, I’ll never pass history. You laughed at his comment and shook your head in disbelieve. Most people would fail a course because they were bad at it, like you always seemed to fail at math. It was only Baekhyun who could make it to fail at a course like history. 

“Why do we have to know this anyways? These people are all dead.” He mumbled annoyed and closed his book, giving up. You looked at him for a moment and blinked your eyes, looking for an answer. In one way he was right, those people were all the past, but there was something about history that gave you hope. “Wouldn’t it be nice to be remembered? To be standing in one of those books, knowing that other people read about you and remember your name, even if they’re not interested and they don’t want to. It’s still very special.” You said and all of a sudden your friend turned silent, as if he was seriously thinking about your answer. Baekhyun dropped you off at your class and then all of a sudden you remembered why you had been so excited to see him this morning. You looked at him with big eyes and he gave you a confused expression. “I think I’m going to ask Kai out for the prom. Do you think he’ll say yes?” You asked and suddenly you saw Baekhyun’s eyes turn big. 

“I totally forgot the prom…” He mumbled in disbelieve and you laughed because he was so shocked about something that small. “That’s okay, there’s still a lot of time to ask someone.” You said and patted him on the shoulder to cheer him up. Baekhyun probably wouldn’t have a hard time with finding a date, a lot of girls would want to go with him. He was a great guy and good looking, no one would refuse him if he’d ask. Then why did he look so nervous all of a sudden? “Apparently not…” Was all he said before turning around and walking towards his own classroom. You called out for him, overwhelmed by his reaction and how soon he had left. But he didn’t turn around and just walked away from you. Something had been bothering him but you had no idea what it was. Was he worried he wouldn’t find a date for the prom? During the next hour you’d explain him that he had nothing to worry about, that he would be just fine. 

During your math class you couldn’t concentrate at all. Normally you already had trouble following but today you didn’t hear one word of what the teacher said.
