The only sounds that filled your ears were fast footsteps, following up and loudly pushing up against the ground. The blowing of the wind in between the trees and bushes that was helping you covering up your scent and the noises you were making. Fast and hard breathing, telling you that they were getting tired from running but also that no one was planning to give up yet any time soon. Then there was one sound that you would never forget again, and that you would probably still hear in your dreams even after this moment would be long gone. The screaming of the people who were after you, who were shooing you and who weren’t planning to stop until they had killed every single one of you. You had no idea how this had happened, what you had done to make it turn out like this. Last morning everything had still been the same and you had been sharing this village with these people as if you had all been the same. Someone had found out about your secret and had told everything, so that now they no longer wanted you there. It was even that bad that they wanted you all dead, but you didn’t understand what you had done so terribly wrong to deserve a faith like that. You had never harmed them, had always been friendly and kind, you had never acted like you had wanted to hurt them. But they heard stories about your kind, myths that didn’t always have to be entirely true, but they believed them. They believed them because the though of you being around them scared them, and people never liked it to be scared. 

The voices were slowly getting less strong and you could tell that you were loosing them. Even in your normal shape you were much faster than them, much stronger, they should never be able to win this from you unless they played it very smartly, which they hadn’t till now. They had been following you for at least an hour now and you knew that they couldn’t do that much longer. They would have to return back to the village, they had to eat and drink, they had to rest and sleep. And then you would be able to do the same, and your pack could go and find a new place to stay. It had happened before, that they had figured out your existence and that you had had the flee. But this time it seemed different, you had never seen so much hate towards your kind before than in the eyes of these people. You till didn’t know if it wasn’t a better idea to change into your true shape, you’d be much faster and you would be able to loose them easily. But then again if you would do that then you would give them prove, now they didn’t know anything for sure. You were getting tired, your lungs were burning and your muscles were screaming, it wouldn’t take long before you’d be demanded to take a rest yourself. You watched the few men that were running in front of you and made sure to follow their tracks. These were the people you trusted with your life, you would follow them everywhere. They were your pack and you had never minded that you were the only girl, in fact you believed that it made things easier for you. 

At the age of twelve you had been found by these guys, and they had accepted you and they had taken you under their protection. You couldn’t explain how grateful you were that they had taken you in, thanks to them you had a family. Just like other times you were walking in the middle of the group, for one reason or another they would lever let you out of their sight. Most of them were like brothers to you, they were a family you had never had. But they knew that they could never mean as much to you as one person did, since you had a special connection with him. It had taken a while before you had figured it out, partly because at the time you had been too young to understand what it was about.
