A ray of sunshine was falling on the bed sheets and you felt that your body was sticky because you were too hot. You loved the summer, it was your favorite season. It was the season that you could wear skirts and dresses, nice open shoes and you could swim without having to complain that the water was too cold. Most of the days the sun would be shining and you could notice that people their moods were a lot better than during rainy days. A stranger would give you a nod and a smile while passing you on the street, an old man would say hello while he was walking with his dog. There didn’t have to be a special reason to gather with friends to get a cocktail or an ice cream, the fact that the weather was nice was reason enough. There was only one thing you disliked about this season, apart from the insects and mosquito bites, which was the terrible hot nights. 

Your boyfriend was convinced that having air-conditioning on the bedroom was enough to get the two of you sick, so for that reason you simply didn’t have one. What you got in return was a sweaty body and the feeling that you were swimming in bed instead of lying on a soft mattress. With a small grown you kicked off the blankets, which felt as if they were glued against your skin. Baekhyun was still fast asleep, which didn’t surprise you at all. When he had a free day, and that didn’t happen very often, he’d always sleep for hours and hours. Even though you were an active person and you’d rather spend the day doing something fun together instead of staying in bed all morning long, you couldn’t bring yourself to wake him up. You know how much he liked to sleep and his job wasn’t giving him the opportunity to do that. So you tried to lay still as you tried to ignore the sweat starting to form underneath his arm, which he had softly laid across of your middle during the middle of the night. 

His sleep wasn’t disturbed very quickly, there weren’t any noises or appearances that made him wake up once he had drifted off in a slumber. If you’d want to wake him up you’d have to push him real hard or you’d have to shout in his ear, which would only gain you a growl before he’d turn around and would fall asleep again in just a few seconds. Of course you knew that a normal human being who got enough sleep on a daily bases would never react like that and so you knew that Baekhyun just wasn’t sleeping long enough during most of work days. You felt sorry for him, hating it that his job was asking so much of his energy. So then you were also very surprised when you suddenly felt a pair of lips press in between your shoulder blades, making your skin tingle. “Good morning.” His voice was still hoarse because he hadn't used it for so long. His arm moved around you and you thought he was going to let you go, but instead he only pulled you even closer to him so that you felt his chest press against your back. Normally you would have loved it when he did that, but right now it just made you feel a little disgusted. 

“Babe, don’t do that. It’s too hot.” You whispered, afraid that if you’d talk to loud that you would ruin the calm sphere lingering around in the room. But he didn’t listen to you and just started to nuzzle his nose inside of your hair. He was usually like this after the two of you had spent the night together, he changed from a lion in the evening to a small kitten who needed attention and hugs in the morning. You tried to turn around so that you could look at his face, but he didn’t let you.You had no idea if you had to think of this as something cute or as something terribly annoying. “Maybe last night was just too steamy.” He joked against your skin before he started chuckling. He didn’t need to see your face to know that your head was coloring into a pink shade as you thought back about last night. “You jerk.” You muttered but couldn’t hide the smile on your face as you said it, which he could definitely hear inside of your voice as you offended him. Just for a little while you forgot how warm it actually was and you just enjoyed the feeling of his skin against yours. 

He had been gone for two entire weeks and you had missed him like crazy. You hadn’t even known that he was coming home yesterday until he had been standing in front of your door with that grin on his face. At first you hadn’t really trusted the situation, afraid that he had come back because something was wrong with him. But he had shown you last night that he had been doing just fine. They had finished their promotion a little earlier than they had planned but he had forgotten to mention that. That was what he had tried to make you believe but you knew that he hadn’t told you on purpose, he had wanted to surprise you by showing up on your doorstep. You had indeed been surprised, dressed in your pajamas and your hair still wet after your shower and sticking against your head. Tho
