“Are you still going to tell me where we’re going?” You asked and tried your best to hide the curiosity that you were feeling inside of your voice, but from the way he chuckled you could tell that you had failed. You pouted and saw how he turned his head to look at you, his face decorated with one of his wonderful smiles. He was looking good, but when talking about Baekhyun you could barely say that he didn’t look handsome. Honestly you were also very pleased about the way that you looked tonight, but you had also worked very hard for that. You had just wanted to look good for him, because after all you couldn’t go out with such a great looking guy while looking like a snob yourself. “You’re so mean.” You muttered and only earned an even wider smile from your boyfriend as he continued to drag you along the street. It was Christmas eve, there were lights hanging all over the place, people were laughing and having a good time. It was one of the most wonderful times of the year, you loved celebrating Christmas. This year it was even more special, because this year you could celebrate it with Baekhyun. The two of you had been together for ten months now and it was unbelievable how fast everything had gone. Right now at this point you could no longer imagine a life without him, that was how much you needed him. As you passed a few more houses you started wondering if he was trying to joke around with you. Was he seriously going to take you anywhere or was this just a set up? 

Though you couldn’t make yourself worry about that for much longer as you felt his thumb caressing the back of your hand softly. If they had told you so many months ago before you had known him that you’d be going out with him tonight and that you’d be so happy with him then you wouldn’t have believed any of it. It all sounded too good to be true, and you wanted it to last forever. Since you were so caught up into your own thoughts you barely noticed it when he stopped, and so you bumped into his side. You blinked your eyes in surprise and felt the warmth raise towards your cheeks and his eyes on you. “We’re here.” He said and you could hear the slightly amused tone in his voice, knowing that he had caught you staring at him. You hummed and instead of looking at him you turned your head to look at the building in front of you. It looked like a very cosy and nice restaurant, it was small and unique and you had never been here before. The whole place was decorated with lights and trees and it looked wonderful. “You ready?” He asked and you quickly looked up at him and nodded, still slightly overwhelmed by his choice of destination. Baekhyun had always been the kind of man who didn’t care about how a restaurant looked, as long as the food was good and they prepared their meals fast enough. It surprised you that he had picked out something this classy for tonight and that he had put so much effort into it. 

He seemed pleased by your reaction and gave your hand a soft tug as he opened the door and pulled you inside. The first thing you noticed when you stepped out of the freezing cold and into the warm room was that it was indeed very small, there were only a few tables available. It must have taken forever for him to reserve a table over here, surely during an evening like this. A few of the tables were already taken, but the people didn’t look your way when you entered and just continued to enjoy their food. There was soft Christmas music playing in the background, but not that kind of music that made you want to run because you had heard it over a million times, no it was refreshing and relaxing. Baekhyun stepped forward and tried to ask someone about the table as suddenly a waitress showed up right in front of him and stopped him. She shot him a warm smile and had a somewhat teasing look on her face. You frowned, wondering if she was trying to hit on your boyfriend right in front of you, but when she pointed her eyes at you her look didn't change. “Your name please?” She asked and took a piece of paper with the reservations on it. Baekhyun mumbled his name to the strange lady and she nodded, confirming that your name was indeed on the list. “You may sit down at the table in the back of the room. If you please then you may leave your coats at the entrance. And oh, you’re standing underneath the mistletoe.” 

When she said that your eyes widened a little bit and almost like you didn’t believe her your head snapped up and that was when you understood. Right in above of you there was a small mistletoe, probably hung up there to make every couple that came in here kiss. When you looked at Baekhyun beside you, you could see that he was also staring at the small branch. There was a small blush play
