Two curious eyes were watching you as you stood behind the stove, cutting the paprika so that it could join the rest of the vegetables in the simmering oil in a few seconds. You could feel his presence, even though he hadn’t said anything since the moment he had walked through the door. He was always very quiet, most of the times you wouldn’t even notice if he would enter the same room as you because he always tiptoed around on his feet, the wooden floor hiding his steps. But this time you had heard the front door close behind him as he had returned from work, a long day at the farm had probably worn him out and you knew that he was longing for a warm meal now that he was back. He was definitely something different, and you had your hands full with him, but at least he kept your life very interesting.
