As quickly as you could you shut down the engine of your car and unfastened your seatbelt. You were late, your previous appointment had taken so much of your time and the couple had been so annoying that you had barely made it here on time. Ten minutes late, you hoped that the soon to be married couple could forgive you for that, though you had met people who had gotten angry at you for much smaller things. Being a wedding planner wasn’t the easiest job in the world. You were always busy, constantly had to listen to people who wanted enormous things which were almost impossible for you to arrange and who wanted extraordinary weddings. Sometimes you worked very long hours, trying to make a wedding as perfect as you wanted it to be. Your work never stopped when you got home after your meetings, you had phone calls to make, people to see, shops to visit. It was very tiring, which was probably the reason why you had decided that this was going to be your last event before you would take some time off. You had deserved it after years of long work and caring about other people. Right now it was time for you to think about yourself and to take some 'me time'. The Byun couple was the last one on your list for today. You had gotten a call from the bride two weeks ago and she had asked you for your help, since her fiancee wasn’t helpful at all. Something about this whole situation shouted that there was something more going on, something you didn’t know anything about. But you were here to organize a wedding, not to interfere with the personal stuff these people had going on. If you also had to play their therapist then you weren’t sure if you would be able to handle this job for much longer. There was already that much pressure and responsibility that you had to take care of that the last thing you wanted was to get a personal detachment with the clients you worked with.

No, whatever the problem of the groom was, they had to fix it themselves, because you weren’t up for the drama. There wasn’t much you had to know today, just if they had any thoughts for the venues, the meals, what their budget was. Just a few details you needed in order to get this all started so that you could start planning their big day. After collecting all your stuff on the passenger seat you stepped out of the car and closed the door behind yourself with a loud thud. Rain was pouring down on top of your head and you let out a deep sigh as you thought about how horrible the weather was for this time of the year. Next week you would have a couple that would get married, the Chwe’s, and they had wanted everything to be perfect for their beautiful beach wedding. You had worked your off to get everything in place before the deadline, but if things would continue to be like this then their wedding would fall into the water, literally. There was no way you would still be able to arrange something else for them in such a short amount of time. Then everything you had done would have been for nothing, and you would be deeply disappointed. Hopefully you could convince these people that it was the smartest move to have their wedding party inside. Your heels ticked softly onto the tiles as you made your way over towards a big gate, just one look at their home and you could tell that you were going to have a big budget to work with during this project. This house was huge and you were mentally preparing yourself for a wedding with many guests and a big party. The nicest thing was that most of the times you got invited, so that you could see what your hard work had put off. It was great publicity which made that you always got new clients and that you were never bored.

With one finger you pressed on the bel, waiting for someone to acknowledge your presence and to let you inside. If you had to wait in this weather for much longer than your mood would drop very quickly. “Who is it?” The words ringed through the small speaker that was placed against the wall and you were very aware of the fact that they were probably able to see you through a small camera that was placed somewhere close to you. You straightened your back and clung your papers closely to your chest as you spoke. “It’s _____________, the wedding planner.” You had repeated these words for so many times already that you probably introduced yourself to strangers in your sleep. No one ever believed that you were a professional wedding planner with her own business, because you were so young. The thing was that you had rolled into this as soon as you had graduated high school, as a kid you had always known what you had wanted to be, and your dream had come true. Even though it was a stressful job, you would never want to do anything else in your entire life but this. “Oh, please come in!” Her voice sounded so cheerful that it hurt your ears and you tried your hardest not to pull a face at the sharp edge of her voice as the gates slowly started to open. You glanced around yourself when you walked over the small path that was marked in between a few bushes, everything look fancy and expensive. The only thing you could hope for was that you didn’t have to work with some spoiled brad who thought she knew everything better, because then the collaboration wouldn’t last for long. You had clients enough who were waiting for your help, you weren’t going to waste your time or patience by giving it to someone who didn’t really want it. Before you had reached the front door it opened and a brunette with soft and bouncy curls that fell over her shoulders appeared in your view. The first thing you saw was that she was pretty, in the magical type of way, she looked like little fairy. Her big eyes blinked a few times as she flashed you a smile, which was as well friendly as well strong. She seemed like a person with a strong will, but who was also able to listen to your advice, so you were sure that this would go well.

“Hi, I’m Kayla. It’s so nice to see you.” She said as she extended her hand and you offered her your own, feeling her tight grip around your fingers. You had no idea why but you had the feeling there was a very strong personality underneath this flawless face, someone who didn’t let anyone mess with her. She was the kind of person who had always been popular in high school, who had always gotten all the attention from the boys but never wanted it. Her fiancee was probably some guy who owned a big business and who was too busy to care much about this whole wedding. He had more important things to do than worrying about flowers and dresses, so she had to do it herself. The mother would probably also have a say in all of this, she would probably be the hardest one to work with. The father would give away his credit card, and let the money flow, as long as the wedding would make the papers and would catch enough attention then it was all good to him. That was the information you got from her as you looked at her, the beautiful and stunning brown haired girl in front of you. “It’s great to meet you, I’m sorry I’m a little bit late. My last appointment lasted a little longer than I expected it to.” You muttered, hearing your voice echoing through the large hallway as she closed the door behind you and locked out the rain and the wind. She turned around to face you with a smile before she guided you through some doors and rooms, which were all decorated in a very modern and expensive way. This was probably one of the biggest places you had ever been, you had to try your hardest in order not to stare.

“Oh, that okay! Don’t worry about it. I’ll introduce you to my fiancee first, he just got home from work a few minutes ago. He’s a little bit grumpy most of the time, he’s not really looking forward to this wedding I suppose, so I apologize for his behavior.” She said and glanced your way in order to see your facial expression to what she had just told you. You nodded, trying to keep your face as neutral as possible, but inside of you head there were all different kind of thoughts wandering around. Why would a guy be so dreadful towards his own wedding if he asked the girl to marry him himself? Unless, he didn’t ask her anything at all. The pieces of the puzzle began to fall onto their place as you walked into a large living room which looked as if it was never used. It was clear that these people weren’t home that often and that they didn’t seem to think that spending some family time in front of the TV was that important. God, what had you gotten yourself into? There was a man sitting behind a desk, a nice blazer hung over the back of his chair as he typed away on his computer. From the way he continued to stare at his screen as you came in it seemed as if he hadn’t heard you, or that he didn’t want to look around. “Sweetie, the wedding planner is here. Can you quit working for a second and come to say hello.” Kayla said with a voice sweet as honey, but his shoulders tensed as soon as she spoke to him. It was important for you to know as much as possible about both of the people who you were working with so that the wedding could be a great festivity for as well the groom as the bride. But something was telling you that he wasn’t going to be into telling you much. He heaved a big sigh and something about the sound of that seemed so familiar that you had to fight the urge to frown. You cleared your throat in the hope that your appearance would be able to light up the mood a little bit in between the two of them.

“Hi sir, I’m ______________, I’ll be organizing your wedding for the next two weeks. I hope that we’ll have a great collaboration and that we can turn this wedding into something nice.” You proposed and you could see how the girl started gleaming next to you by the thought of her wedding. But as soon as you started speaking the guy in front of you stiffened even more, and you were afraid that you had said something wrong. In one fast movement he jumped up from his chair and he twisted around, his eyes round and big as they connected with yours and you were finally able to see his face. Pure shock must have traveled over your face and out of panic your hands l
