“Look at him, he was so cute when he was little!” His mom squealed beside you and you smiled at the picture of Baekhyun when he was still a baby, she was right, he was really cute back then but he still was. “Mom!” Baekhyun whined and tried to make her stop showing his old child pictures to you. This had been going on for half an hour now and he still hadn’t won, she wasn’t giving up. Picture after picture you had watched and silently given your comment on them. It was the first time you were meeting Baekhyun’s family and you had been kind of nervous for it but they were all really sweet for you.
 

You had been scared of their reaction because after all you weren’t Korean. You were originally from America and you had met Baekhyun in your country while they had been on their world tour. After having a long distance relationship for half a year you had both known that it was time for a change and you had made the big decision to move to Korea so you could spend more time with Baekhyun. You had now been here for three weeks and you were still having a hard time with adjusting. It was hard because you couldn’t understand people yet, you were still learning the language and Baekhyun was helping you with that. The food was different, the culture was different, the people were different and it was just all new.

The members of exo and other friends of Baekhyun supported you very well. If you needed anything the only thing you had to do was call and they would come out to help you. You felt loved and wished but that didn’t made it any easier for you. You had though it would be easier for you, you hadn’t thought that it would affect you this much to be gone from home, but you had thought wrong. Here you were always sitting at home because you couldn’t communicate with others and make new friends, you couldn’t go to school like you had done in America because you wouldn’t be able to follow the classes. You were bored and it made you miss the life you had, it made you miss your country.

And you had thought that meeting Baekhyun’s parents and brother would make things better for you, but that wasn’t the thing. Seeing how his mother cared for him and seeing him talk to his father, it made you miss your own parents who were now so far away that you couldn’t go to visit them and you couldn’t call or talk to them every day. You really missed them and it almost made you tear up as you thought about it. Your mom would’ve done just the same as his, showing your baby to everyone just because she thought it was cute. Your dad would be just the same as his, he would be asking you everything about your boyfriend and would turn him inside out.
