You were leaning above your books, biting your pen as you watched the words in your book with pure concentration. Tomorrow there was a big test and you had to make sure you’d get good grades, not that you aver didn’t get good grades. Compared to other people you didn’t dislike studying as much, because after all you didn’t have anything better to do. You didn’t have so many friends, there weren’t a lot of boys and girls in your class or school who liked to hang out with you. You weren’t someone who liked to get a lot of attention so you didn’t say a lot to others and you always stayed in the background. You were a shy girl and you were too innocent to hang out with the more popular girls of the school. So since you didn’t have anyone else to hang out with you decided that hanging around with your books was good enough. Sometimes you’d get lonely but you were also aware that it had his positive points. You’d never get into fights, because there was no one to fight with.

A deep frown crawled on your forehead as you put your teeth more into your pen and broke your head about the words in front of you. How could it be that you didn’t understand this, you had already read it last night to make sure that you’d surely be able to study it today and so you’d be ready for the test tomorrow. But suddenly you noticed that it didn’t have anything to do with the fact that you couldn’t concentrate, it was because you were sure that you were being watched. After hesitating for a while and keeping your eyes down, you lifted your head and looked around the library. By this time all the normal people had already gone home and you were almost all by yourself. Who’d like to stay here to study till this late if they could do more fun things at home with their friends? But even though you were sure you were getting paranoid, you were convinced that someone was watching you and you couldn’t shake the feeling off.

Deciding that you needed a break and you had been studying for too long you put down your glasses and loosened your ponytail, making that you could run your fingers through your hair. Your wardrobe in school was always the same, some simple jeans, a loose top or a sweater, your glasses and your hair that you wore into a high ponytail. Make up wasn’t really your thing, you’d rather poke your eye with the mascara stick then that you’d be able to add it correctly so you had banned it from your life. Of course you were aware that you’d look much prettier if you’d actually pay some attention to your looks, but who was there to impress? You didn’t talk to guys so neither did they talk to you so the chance that you’d ever find a boyfriend or that there’d ever be a guy who would like you would rather be small. But you had already given up on that and you had already accepted your faith, so you weren’t sad about that anymore.

Thinking you needed to get off your chair for a moment and you had to straighten your legs you stood up from your chair and began to walk towards the high bookshelves which were filled with hundred of books which you’d never to be able to read, even if you’d read one book each day. You loved to read, to get lost in the book and in the stories of the lead characters like you were actually living inside of the pages. Sometimes you’d get too attached to a book, which made it had for you to let go of a book, but maybe that was just you. You turned the corner and walked into the little hall created by two bookshelves and ran your finger across the backs of the books. The smell of old, dusty books made something inside of you flutter. Books would never judge you, which was probably the reason why you loved them so much. Suddenly your eyes fell on a certain title, being sure you had never seen the book before you reached out to grab it and pull it off the shelf. As a hand rubbed against your and you could feel fingertips brushing against your skin, making your hand freeze mid-air before you pulled it back in shock.

Slowly you looked up at the owner of the hand who had succeeded to grab the same book the same way you had done it. As your eyes met those of a guy of your age you stiffened and it seemed as if all the air was being out of your lungs. This guy was incredibly good looking and his eyes seemed to twinkle as they stared directly into yours, staring at you incisively. The first question that went through you r mind wasn’t the one normal girls would be thinking of like, ‘would he be single?’ or ‘Should I ask for his number?’ No, your first question you thought of was, what the hell was a hot guy like him still doing at the library at this hour of the day? You were sure you had never seen him before at this school, and he’d be someone you definitely would have noticed. But even if he was indeed a student here, then that must mean that he was one of the popular kids, just the way that his hear was looking and he was dressed told you enough. Quickly you took a step backwards and made sure to keep your eyes on anything but on him. Popular people normally didn’t like it if someone like you would stare at them, then they’d always go like, ‘What’re you staring at weirdo?’ Or something like that and you weren’t in the mood to be called names today.

“I’m sorry, did you want to take this?” His voice sounded like hundreds of bells ringing together like a symphony and slowly you lifted your eyes, not really knowing what to do with yourself. When your eyes were back at the same level as he you could see that he was looking directly at you, making your heart skip a beat and your blood rush to your cheeks. Usually people seemed to look right through you, as if you didn’t exist and if you were invisible, but this guy really looked at you, as if he could stare straight into your soul. “I… Y-you can have it.” You quickly stuttered, not wanting to get yourself in any trouble as you stumbled back from him, realizing that he was actually standing really close to you. Maybe you hadn’t been crazy when you had felt that someone had been in here with you earlier? Before he could say anything else you began to walk back towards your spot on your table where you had left your books. As you sat back down on your chair you placed your hand on your chest in the hope to calm your fast beating heart.

How could it be possible that you’d run into a popular guy in the library? The only thing you wished was that you didn’t get yourself into trouble by talking to him, they didn’t really seem to enjoy conversations with someone like you, which you understood of course. Quickly you reached out for your notes, deciding that it should deb better for you to just forget about the situation and study some more. After all the test was tomorrow and the chance that you’d ever run into th
