I already finished the chapter before I noticed that I made a mistake

“I thought I told you not to go there.” He hissed as he walked around the corner so that he was further way from you, making sure he wouldn’t scare you because of his strong reaction. But it was already too late, since you were able to see the anger inside of his dark eyes. The heat that came from his body seemed to fill the small apartment which the two of you had been sharing together for two years now and you wished that you hadn’t turned the heating up because sweat was starting to form at the nape of your neck. It was true, he had asked you multiple times not to get near that neighborhood, but what could you do? Your boss had asked you to go checking out some houses there, it wasn’t like you could just ignore what he asked from you because your fiancee had asked you to stay away. You had a job to do, you had responsibilities and it was his fault for not understanding that, he didn’t have to throw such a fit because of it. It was no longer a surprise to you that once his patience had run out and he had reached his boiling point that Baekhyun could get seriously angry. Of course he had never shown any physical anger towards you, he would never forgive himself if he would ever touch you or hurt you, but that didn’t mean he didn’t scare you. Before you had met him and you two had built up a stable relationship together Baekhyun had been in bad places, hanging out with the wrong kind of people. Finding out that he had been a part of a gang and he had given all of that up as soon as he had figured out you were a keeper had shocked and flattered you at the same time. One part of you had told you to stay far away from this man because he could only mean trouble, but the other part had felt so strongly attracted to him that you hadn’t been able to let him escape. You knew exactly why he was asking you to stay away from that place, because that was where his ex gang members usually hung out. 

It wasn’t like they were fighting or anything, they just weren’t really pleased that they had lost one of their members because of a girl. You had never meant to steal him away, it had just happened, and to be honest you weren’t sure if you had been able to live with the fact that your future husband was a gang member. Until now you hadn’t had any trouble with it yet, nothing had made it seem as if he had been in any problems before. Baekhyun had a normal job, he was a sweet guy, he always took great care of you. But now there was another responsibility that was about to come on top of that and you were dying to tell him, but you weren’t sure if this was the right moment. Your eyes slipped towards the envelope you had folded on the counter behind him and you wondered when he was going to notice it. The content would change your lives forever but it didn’t seem like a good idea to tell him about it when he was this upset with you. You wanted this to become a happy memory, not one where he had been shouting at you just a few minutes ago. It was dark in the apartment and even though the weather had been nice the past couple of days it had cooled off and the clouds had filled the sky again, blocking the views of the stars. The only thing you had been longing for when you had gotten home from work five minutes ago had been a nice cuddle with you fiancee but it seemed like you weren’t about to get that tonight unless you could fix this. “I already told you that I didn’t go there for fun. I went there because my boss asked me to go and check out that house that’s for sale. He thinks that if we can sell it it’s going to get us a big amount of money. Seriously babe, you know that my work is important to me.” You tried, hoping that you could get him to be reasonable with you and would just listen to you. When he was really angry it seemed as if he had a cotton ball in his head, that blocked out everything you were saying so that he just wouldn’t listen to what you told him. It was very hard to have a conversation with him while he was being like this. 

“And I already told you that it isn’t safe for you to go there! How can you be so irresponsible? What is more important to you, your job or your life?” He honestly shocked you with those words and suddenly you felt guilt become master of you. Had you seriously put yourself in such a dangerous condition while you were in no position to do so. You didn’t only have to think of yourself anymore, there were now more important things you had to care about. He was right, how could you have done something so stupid just because someone else had asked you to? You easily could have asked to send someone else over, instead of going there yourself. But you had been too stubborn to do so, thinking that if you would sell this house that would get you a promotion. It was true though, this would be a big catch, if you would be able to find a buyer for this house then you were sure your boss would consider paying you more. If he would have asked you that question a few weeks ago then you knew what you would have answered, you had always loved your job, had always had a lot of ambition to break through in that world. But now you realized that your answer would be completely different and you felt ashamed for your actions. “Do you think i’m joking when I’m telling you that once they’ll find you, it’s over? For years I’ve been trying to keep you from them and now you’re just happily walking towards them, because you want to sell a ing house? Do you have any idea how much effort I put in keeping you safe?” You knew that he was saying those hurtful words because he was angry and because it just had to get out of his system, but you weren’t sure if you could hear any more of it. You got his point and you could tell that you had been wrong. Couldn’t he just see that he was upsetting you and let it go? Though it seemed like Baekhyun was beyond the point of thinking about your feelings as he continued to lash out on you, telling you that if you’d ever go there again he would never forgive you again. “You have to stay away from that area _____________, who knows what they’ll do to you when they get you? They’re dangerous people, who want revenge. if they find you then you’ll never make it out alive.” His voice was still loud and at this point you were sure that you couldn’t take it anymore. You felt like someone was pinching your throat and made it unable for you to breath. A heavy weight was pressing down on top of your shoulders and the walls seemed to close in on you, so that you couldn’t think of anything but trying to get out of this house. You couldn’t stay here with a man who was screaming at you while you had so many things to worry about, you needed a moment to think. 

In one swift movement you turned around on the back of your heel and walked towards the front door. A few minutes ago you couldn’t have thought of anything better than being at home, and now you were running away from it. You knew that this wasn’t the way the solve this fight and that you were just walking away from your real problems, but you were sure that the fresh air would help you clear your head, so that you could tell him how you felt when you came back and you could apologize for your thoughtless actions. You heard him say your name before the door fell close behind you and you walked off, being sure of it that being alone was exactly what you both needed. Baekhyun stared at the door where you had just disappeared through in shock and blinked his eyes as he tried to think of what had happened. His anger had gotten the best of him, but he hadn’t been able to help himself. After finding out where you had spent your day he had been furious, all day he had been walking around worrying about you, hoping that you would be okay. Telling you this was the only way to open your eyes and maybe this words had been harsh but that was the only way they could have effect. He knew how much you loved your job, how much you would give up to the best out of the best, but this was too much. With a big sigh he started thinking about his options, which were only two of them, would he stay here and wait for you to come back or would he go after you? It was late, dark outside and probably cold as well and he couldn’t remember that you had taken your coat with you. He didn’t want to think of all the things that could happen to you while walking out on the streets all by yourself. His eyes scanned through the small apartment, your presence was all around him even though you weren’t actually there. He couldn’t look at a single spot in this house without thinking of you. Just the pillows on the couch, the small candles standing on the tables, the picture frames hanging against the walls, the smell of your perfume lingering around in the air, it all reminded him of you. Before he had met you he had always been convinced that his life had been perfect the way it had been, that he hadn’t needed a woman in his life to make it c
