While supporting your chin on your hand you stared out of the window, seeing how the rain was dripping down out of the sky. It was disappointing to see that the good weather was coming to an end after two months of summer. With that you could also feel your mood sinking a little, the sun that shone in the morning always made you feel better. The rain looked so sad and depressing, waiting to drench everyone who got the courage to walk through it. A long sigh left your lips as your hands lowered themselves and you leaned back against the small couch. It was a cosy coffee shop where you’d go every afternoon when you came back from college. After sitting in a class for so long with so many people surrounding you, you were happy you were able to be alone for a moment. It wasn’t very crowded over here, there were only a few people who knew about this place and you had never decided to introduce it to anyone else before, there was no need to. The fact that there was no one in here you knew made it even better.

Your fingers thrummed against the wooden table as you waited for your order. Normally it didn’t take them so long, so why now? You were longing for a good and warm coffee, if you wouldn’t get it then you wouldn’t be able to make it through the rest of the day. it wasn’t like you were addicted to caffeine, it had just become a habit. The streets were rather empty because of the bad weather, people had all locked themselves inside of their houses in the hope not to become wet. But who were you to tell them they were wrong because after all you were sitting inside of a small and warm coffee shop as well. The small bell above the door surrounded through the room and your head popped up to see who had walked in. Normally it were always the same people who showed up and you weren’t surprised to see who made his entrance. The boy nodded his head towards the old lady that was sitting in the corner and smiled towards the man who always read his newspaper at table five. He came here every single day, around the same time you did, he was late today. For one reason or another his arrival was always something to look forwards to if you came here.

He was a handsome guy and you would say he was somewhere near your age, but you weren’t sure. His bangs were covering his forehead and today they were slightly sticking against his skin, wet from the rain. He had a pair of glasses on his nose but it didn’t make him look silly, it made him even look more attractive. Just like other days he was dressed neatly, a nice pair of jeans, dressed shoes, a pullover and a button up shirt underneath it. You just couldn’t help but feel recruited towards him. You had always liked those type of man, the polite and calm kind of guys who you were able to have a descent conversation with. For a small second his gaze locked with yours and he sent you a heart warming smile which immediately made you forget about the cold weather. All of a sudden you felt butterflies flutter around in your stomach, which was stupid because you didn’t even know this guy’s name. How could you possibly be in love with a man you had never talked to before? But as soon as the moment had come it was gone again because he had continued his way towards the counter. Because you didn’t want to see how he smiled all too friendly towards the waitress you opened your bag and took your book out of it.

It had always been your favorite way to pass your free time. While reading you could forget about your own problems and hide away in the world the author had created for his or her readers. You had always been drawn towards it, even when you had only been a child. You opened the book at the page you had left off in the morning before your class had started and started reading. “___________.” The sound of your name made you pop up your head and you could see how the woman behind the counter was holding up a cup while staring into your direction. Finally, your coffee was ready. You closed your book and shove off of the couch before walking over to the counter with your wallet. It surprised you that that guy was still standing there as you arrived, but he was probably still waiting for his drink as well. There were two cups standing on the counter, making you frown as you tried to figure out which one was yours. The girl told you the price in a sweet voice but you already knew how much it would cost you, you always ordered the same drink every single time. You handed her the money while a second waitress helped out the guy next to you. You listened to his voice carefully as he thanked her and took the cup that was closest to him.
