The week had started off perfectly, after your holiday you felt as if you were brand new, reborn. To be honest you had had quite some things you had had to deal with during the past few days and you had been happy that you had called in a break so that you had been able to spend some more time on yourself instead of on other people like you usually did. But you had been able to get your thoughts in line again and to figure everything out so that you were able to move on with your life again. The smell of coffee filled your small kitchen as you bent over the table to look at the newest changes you had made on your last project. The venue was huge and you were sure of the fact that she was going to love the last decorations you had added while it all still fitted perfectly in the budget. There was only one thing you still had to do, which were the flowers. You had an appointment with her in two hours, you would meet up with miss Choi and her mother in front of the flower shop and then you would find her the perfect bouquet. As you stared down on the pictures that were spread out on the table you noticed how well everything fitted together, how everything just seemed to flow into each other. The dress was sweet and wavy, the venue was chick and elegant, the church was extremely expensive. It had been exhausting to get all of this figured out in time, but because of your new found energy you felt as if you were able to handle everything. This was going to be one of your biggest weddings so far and you had gotten a few new phone calls with people asking you if you wanted to work for them. At this moment your planner was full, you didn’t have one small spot open for anyone else. The next couple that wanted to get in between your busy schedule would have to wait for at least two months until you would be able to organize their wedding.

Things had always been working out well, because of the great support you had had from your family and your friends. In the very beginning they had helped you by letting you plan their weddings and telling it to everyone they knew so that others got to know you. By the time you had been working in the business for six months you had had enough money to open your own little company and even though it was hard to do all the work by yourself, you refused to ask for someone to help you or to hire someone. You were convinced that you would do everything much better if you would do it yourself. If something failed then, then at least you could only be angry at yourself and you didn’t have anyone else to blame for it. You ran your hand through your hair and smiled at the amazing result before walking over towards the coffee machine and grabbing a cup out of one of your kitchen cabinets. You had moved out of your parents place when you had been nineteen, right after the time that you had separated from Baekhyun and you had both gone your own ways. Before that you had always dreamt of living with him, of buying an apartment together where you would grow old and grey together. But the plans had changed and you were very happy with your cosy little apartment which you lived in at the moment. Some of your friends told you that it was time for you to move into something new, something big, a house that fitted your standards and your image as a popular business woman. Though you didn’t think that was the right thing to do. You were just by yourself, you didn’t have a boyfriend or a husband you had to share this place with and you were sure that if you would buy anything bigger than this that you would start feeling lonely eventually. No, this place was perfect for you and for as long as you would stay alone you weren’t planning on moving anywhere else.

Quickly you dropped some sugar into your mug before walking towards the bedroom with the cup in hand. There was only one thing you really needed in order to start a good day at work, and that was a good, strong and black coffee. There was nothing that was able to wake you up any better than that. Or at least that was what you thought, because after you had gotten ready there was another surprise waiting for you as you got downstairs. Slowly you moved yourself into a dark blue dress that hugged your body in a way only the best dresses you owned could. While swinging your hair towards one side you grabbed a hold of the zipper and pulled it all the way up against your side so that the fabric melted against your body. Luckily for you the weather was brighter these days and you weren’t afraid of getting drenched today if you got out of the door. Though, from that dreadful day on you had always had an umbrella in the trunk of your car, just in case. It had been two weeks since you had seen Baekhyun or since you had lastly heard from him. Since you had seen him you hadn’t been able to get him out of your head anymore, while you had been able to push him towards the back of your mind before all of this. You couldn’t help but wondering how he was doing after you had finished you conversation that day and you had left. He had gone back inside, into his large house with expensive furniture where his grumpy fiancee had been waiting for him at the time. You felt bad for him, knowing that his dad had arranged all of this and that he hadn’t had any say in who he wanted to marry. He had given you hope that day, when he had told you that he had never thrown your engagement ring away. Though you didn’t know what to expect from that hope, he hadn’t called or texted you, and you hadn’t seen a glimpse of him ever since that day. Eventually things had gone back to the way they had always been, except for the fact that you had to think of him all the time now and that you had realized that you still weren’t over him. Someone had once told you that your first love was something special, that it was something you never really got over, and maybe they had been right. You were sure that Baekhyun would always have a very special spot in your heart, but you just weren’t sure if you still fitted in his life. He had a wonderful fiancee, a beautiful girl and as far as you knew they were about to get married this week.

A deep sigh left your lips as you gazed at yourself through the long mirror in front of you. Thinking of him had definitely caused a new kind of stress to come over you, one you hadn’t been through in a very long time. You usually didn’t worry about men, because you didn’t have any time to love someone. But you had already loved this guy before you had started this job, so you couldn’t undo it. He was graved into your mind and you would never get rid of the shadows he had left on you. You had realized that he had been right, that after all it had all been your fault and you didn’t have the right to blame his father for how things had turned out between the two of you. If you hadn’t walked away, if you hadn’t let his father Intimidate you, if only you had stayed then things would have turned out so differently. Then maybe he had still been yours today, but because of your own stupid mistake, one you would regret for the rest of your life, you had lost him forever. Until a few weeks ago you had been sure that you had accepted that faith, and that you were done with it. That had been until he had shown up right in front of you and had caused you to get the biggest shock of your life. The only thing you wanted for him was to be happy and you knew that he wasn’t, which made you feel horrible. You wished you could do something to help him, but you also knew it would be better for you to stay away from him while he was trying to get his life in order. He had other things to worry about, more important things than a high school sweetheart who came banging on his door, apologizing for breaking his heart. He probably moved on, the engagement ring didn’t mean anything. It had just been the reaction to seeing you again after so any years that had caused him to say such crazy things to you. That was proven to you now that you had realized that he wasn’t planning on contacting you anymore.

In one swift movement you turned around in your bedroom and marched towards the doorway, where you had settled down your heels so that you could easily slip into them once you were ready to be on your way out. If you left early then maybe you would be able to search for some nice pieces first and then propose them to the bride so that she could see what she thought of it. You already had some things in mind which she might like, and which fitted perfectly with all the other details you had already arranged. With your shoes secured on your feet you walked back into the kitchen to find your bag waiting for you on the counter, your phone and your lipgloss secured into it as your usual accompanies. You never left your home without your phone, it was your business partner that reminded you of all the important things you still had to do that day. Still you checked one more time if you had everything with you before searching for your coat and walking towards the front door. It was probably a total coincidence that the door bell rang just at the second you opened it and you froze on the spot as you looked at the man standing in front of you. A few seconds ago a whole map had been marked out inside of your head, of everything you were about to do today, where you were going to go, what you were going to eat, say, drink. But now that was all gone, because your plans had suddenly gotten messed up. You blinked your wide eyes in surprise as Baekhyun pushed his hands inside of his pockets, his thumbs sticking out as if he was trying to show off calm and swoon, but you could see the awkwardness inside of his eyes. “Hi.” Was all he said, a casual greeting that friends usually gave each other when seeing one other, but this felt nothing like that. As soon as you had processed everything your heart started beating like crazy inside of your chest and your brain was working on overdrive as you tried to understand that he was actually standing on your porch.

“Uhm, hey?” It came out as a question and you felt the urge to hit yourself against the front of the head, like seriously, what kind of a reaction was that? Luckily for you he just smiled at your words, before he started whipping back and front on his feet like a little child, you thought it was cute. It was so strange, but suddenly you felt as if you were eighteen again, young wild and free, without any care in the world. Back then you had been an unknowing teenager who had been crazily in love with an amazing guy and who had had the whole world laying in front of her. But you weren’t h
