You could see him looking at her and it wasn’t the first time you had noticed this. It had taken him so long that you had already given up the hope that it would ever happen, but it could be that now he was finally ready for it. He didn’t even notice that you followed his look and that you saw that he was looking at Yuna, a girl who was sitting a few tables away from you with her group of friends. A few days before you had seen the two of them talking and Baekhyun had been so happy all day long. It soon became clear that he liked her, and that he had a crush on her but also that he was too shy to tell her. He had never been in a long relationship before, and you weren’t quite sure if he had ever been on a date when he had asked the girl out. He was so insecure when he was around girls, unless he was with you of course but that didn’t count.

The two of you had been best friends ever since you could remember and you loved Baekhyun a lot. Some people thought that the two of you were more than friends, but you always had to disappoint them. Baekhyun was an amazing guy and you cared so much about him, but it was in the way a sister would care for her brother. Then they’d tell you that you maybe just had to give it a chance, that those feelings would come naturally, but then you had to disappoint them even more, because you already had a boyfriend who you loved very much. Taehyung and you had been together for two years now and you were still very happy in your relationship. You were aware that he and Baekhyun looked alike, which made that people believed that you could still fall for your best friend, but what they forgot was that there were a lot of differences between them as well. 

No, Baekhyun and you would never become anything more than best friends, and he knew that. The good thing was that he didn’t have any feelings for you in that way as well, so you were on the same level about this. It meant that you’d never have to lose your friendship over this, which was great because your friendship with Baekhyun meant a lot to you. You didn’t know what you would do without him in your life, he made your life so much better. Of course Baekhyun was a little older than you as well, but the age difference had never really been important in your friendship, since Baekhyun sometimes acted like a five year old kid, you didn’t notice much of that. When you had met Taehyun three years ago, he had already tried to make you like him, saying that he looked like himself so that he was good-looking and charming. A year later you and Taehyung had finally made it official and you were very grateful that Baekhyun helped you with your relationship. 

For years you had been waiting for this day to come, that you could finally repay him for what he had done for you some time ago. Right now it was your turn to help Baekhyun find a girlfriend and to help him to get closer to the girl he liked, which seemed to be Yuna. He was sitting in front of you, trying to steal some looks from her while eating his sandwich. You couldn’t help but smile while looking at the cute sight in front of you before kicking against his leg under the table. Your sudden attack made him catch his breath while giving you an angry look. “What was that for?” He asked while putting down his food, so he’d have his hands free to get back on you if he had to. You pulled up your eyebrows at him before looking back at Yuna, who seemed to be in a conversation with one of her friends. “I saw you looking at her Baekie.” You said and you saw how his cheeks turned pink before he lowered his face and looking down on his food as if it was very interesting. 

You tried not to roll your eyes at his behavior. Some guys looked very cute while being shy, but you knew that Baekhyun usually wasn’t like this. He had a great sense of humor, he was a nice guy and he was good looking, he had nothing to be shy about. But you knew how he was around girls he didn’t know very well, he would shut down and he would start acting weird. But you were sure that Baekhyun and Yuna would make a great couple, because they had the same kind of humor and they seemed to fit with one other. The only thing you could do was try and then hope that it would work out for the best. You nudged him and he looked up at you, you saw he was a little bit irritated by the whole situation which made that you had to try very hard not to laugh. “Relax, I’m not going to tell her. What kind of best friend would I be if I would do that? No, I’m going to help you to get her yourself.” You said and he raised his eyebrows at you, it seemed like you had been able to win his attention because he was clearly listening to you. 

“And how are you going to do that?” He asked and you looked over at her table once again, trying to figure out a plan so that you could make this work. It wasn’t going to be easy, because they had barely spoken to each other in the past and they didn’t know each other very well, but you could make it happen. You would make sure that Baekhyun would find a girl that he liked, just like the way he had helped you not so long ago. “I’m going to try to get to know a little bit more about her first and then we’ll make sure that she notices you.” You said and put another strawberry in your mouth. Baekhyun watched you while you chewed, as if he was wondering if he wanted to go down this road and if he actually wanted to try this. You knew that he was doubting and that he didn’t like all of this, but also that he really wanted her to know him better and that he wanted to know if he had a chance with her.
