You were sitting in the hospital, waiting for any doctor to come up to you and tell you what the condition of your father was. Before you’d know anything you wouldn’t be at ease, how could you even be? They had just called you to tell you that your dad had had a Cardiac Arrest and in your state of panic you had rushed over to the hospital where your mother had already been at this moment. The only thing you needed right now was support and so you had asked the two people of which you had hoped to get it. The first one you had called was your boyfriend, but when you had told him where you were and had asked him to come over he had moodily answered that he had more important things to do because in fact the only thing he could do there was sit there with you and wait. He was sure of the fact that wouldn’t be useful to you as well for him so he had told you that you’d have to deal with it yourself. You didn’t understand how he could be so hard to you sometimes, especially during these times when you needed him the most. But you loved him so you didn’t blame him, you never did. 

The second person you had texted was your best friend, Baekhyun. You knew he would always be there for you if you needed him and this was one of those moments. He was always able to cheer you up and he was able to handle your personality during these kind of moments, which wasn’t as easy for everyone. Immediately he had called you and he had asked you if you were okay and if he had to come over to support you. This was the great thing about him, even though you knew you couldn’t count on your boyfriend you knew he’d always be there. You were still sitting on one of the plastic chair when suddenly you saw a boy rush through the double doors and how he began to screen the hall with his eyes, until they rested on your miserable figure. He speed walked over to you, trying not to push anyone aside as he came over to you and crouched down before you. “Hey, are you okay?” He asked, putting a hand on your knee and giving you a little squeeze. As much as you tried to stay strong and tried to smile, your eyes were already watering and a sob escaped out of your throat. 

Your mother was here as well and you had to be strong right now, the man she loved was dying. But all of this was getting a little bit too much for you and though you had succeeded to hold in your emotions all day long, right now it was just all getting too much. Baekhyun shot you a pity look before he sat down on one of the ugly and uncomfortable chair beside you and wrapped one of his arms around you, pulling you into his chest. There you pushed your face against his shirt and fisted your hands around the fabric, holding onto him for dear life. It wasn’t fair that he had to come here because your boyfriend didn’t care enough about you to get here himself,, it wasn’t fair to Baekhyun that you asked him to replace him and then would get back to your boyfriend afterward and you knew it but you had no idea what else to do. It was ever more unfair because you knew Baekhyun had special feelings towards you, feelings that best friends shouldn’t be feeling for each other. He had told you this after you and started dating your boyfriend and he had never asked you to break up with him, he had just wanted you to know about his heart. 

At first things had been a little bit awkward between the two of you after you had found out, but then you and realized that you couldn’t live without Baekhyun in your life so you had shoved it aside and you had pretended as if nothing had happened. But the fact that he was always the one who had to dry your tears if you two had fought or that he always had to listen to your stories about him made you feel very guilty, just like it made you feel right now. You knew you were using him in a very wrong way, but you had no idea what else to do. You loved your boyfriend but you had no idea if the guy loved you as well, at least he didn’t love you as much as Baekhyun did, he proved that again and again each time. But for one reason or another you couldn’t seem to let him go, he had you in his power. You sobbed silently in his shirt as he held you, his hands rubbing your back and his nose nuzzling into your hair. He enjoyed these moments because he knew these were the only times he could be with you like this, so he cherished them. He waited till you and calmed down to pull you away from him and look you deeply into the eyes, a look that made shivers run down your spine.
