As soon as you stepped into his car the warmth consumed you, surrounding your body and locking you up in a small bubble. His car smelled very nice, his aftershave and unique smell lingering around and filling your nose. Even though his actions had definitely meant something and his words had caused you to start thinking even more about them, they still didn’t prove anything. While breathing slowly you looked down on your hands, seeing that they still looked the same. But he had held onto one of them and your fingers still seemed to tingle. It had felt so perfect to be held by him, it was almost as if your hand had been made to be hold by his. Your thoughts got disturbed when the car door on the other side was opened and you followed him as he stepped in. First his right leg, then his middle and as he sat down into his seat his face finally came into your view. His nose was slightly red because of the cold wind, but it suited him perfectly, unlike you he didn’t look like Rudolf who had escaped from santa. “Are you okay, not too cold?” He asked as he looked over to you while closing the door with a soft thud. You barely seemed to notice it, the only thing you could hear was his beautiful voice as it penetrated into your ears. When he spoke to you the rest of the world seemed to be quiet, that was what you liked about him. The only thing you could seem to focus on when he was here was him and only him, you wished that he could do the same. “No, I’m perfect.” Your voice was higher than usual, your nerves taking over you because of the thought that you were completely and absolutely alone with him in a small place like this. 

With that he smiled, nodding his head, seeming happy about your answer. You waited patiently but your eyes couldn’t stop following every single movement he made, the way he started the car, the way he fastened his seat belt, how he turned up the heating, still even though you had told him that you weren’t cold at all. But maybe he was, you had forgotten to ask him if maybe he was cold. “The address is still the same right?” He asked as he began to maneuver himself out of the parking spot, but he did it with ease. He seemed like a very talented driver, it made you wonder if he was on the road a lot. He seemed so patient and calm in every single thing that he did, almost as if he had the time of the world, as if he wasn’t worrying about anything. You wondered if he was still thinking about it, what he had said to you, the way he had held your hand. For the first time you had the feeling as if you stood a chance, even if it was just a small one. Baekhyun was a very handsome guy, you wouldn’t be surprised if he would have a girlfriend or if he would be seeing someone. But as far as you or your friends knew he was single and he wasn’t into anyone. He seemed to be a man with a lot of secrets, still he seemed very open towards others. He was a social guy, loved to go out with his friends and to have a good time. He had a great job, great colleagues, or at least they were great if they didn’t have to attend to a meeting which would end up like this one had. It turned very silent inside of the car and you noticed that you were feeling slightly awkward. 

Now that you were alone with him and that you saw him again you wanted to talk to him, you wanted to hear his wonderful voice speaking to you. “So how’s work?” You asked at the same time he fired a question your way. “How was your date?” The two of you looked at each other sheepishly, noticing the embarrassment of the other. Baekhyun let out a small chuckle in order to hide his, looking at you out of the corner of his eyes before he focused them back onto the road. The car stopped in front of a red light and the bulp reflected inside of his dark pooled eyes as he looked up at him. But then he turned his head to face you, a soft smile playing around his lips as he leaned back against the head rest. You wished that you could picture this moment, that you could make an image of him like this and keep it with you forever. He looked so relaxed, you wished that you could feel like that. His eyes slipped over your body, and you could feel your skin burn underneath your dress. Earlier tonight you had still been upset because he would never be able to see you in it, now you wished that you were wearing something that covered you up just a little more. His jacket was still laying around your shoulders and you loved the feeling of the fabric keeping you warm. It smelled like him and the thought that he had worn it not so long ago made butterflies explode in your stomach. “So, how was your date?” He asked once again, this time he was the only one who was speaking. You looked at him from under your eyelashes, blinking your eyes at him as you thought about what to say. You could see the heavy rising and falling of his chest as he watched you, studied you. Even when the light jumped on green he didn’t move, he just sat there like that, staring at you. 

The way his lips seemed to curl up as soon as your eyes met him made your breath hitch inside of your throat, swallowing was harder than you ever imagined it to be. “It was…Disappointing.” You explained and Baekhyun finally seemed to remember that he was actually driving, absently he grabbed onto the steering wheel, pushing the gas and getting the car to move again. It was weird, but as soon as his eyes left you it seemed as if your body grew cold, as if you were missing something. “Why? Was he that bad?” He asked, trying to keep his attention up to where it needed to be, but you could see that he had the habit of turning his head to you from time to time, almost as if he was checking if you weren’t planning to jump out of the car and disappear. A soft smile played around your lips as you thought about that and then you shook your head. “No he was really nice.” You said but he wasn’t him, there was only one person you had wanted to sit across of tonight. It was a weird thought that at this very moment he was sitting next to you. “So you like him?” The way his hands clenched the wheel as he asked you that question, as if he was scared of the answer he was about to get. Unlike other times he didn’t look at you but kept this eyes firmly on the road ahead of him, turning into a street that you didn’t really recognize. You stared outside, going through the motions and tried to let go of your feelings. There weren’t a lot of people out on the streets anymore, most people were inside of a cafe or had returned home. “No, I didn’t like him.” Your voice was smooth, telling him that you were speaking the truth. The reflection of the street lights fell onto the car window and you stared at, wondering what was going through his head right now. 

“Then why did you go out with him?” There was a spark of confusion inside of his voice, but you could tell he had been trying to hide it from you, but it hadn’t worked. Finally you turned your face back to him, seeing how he was already staring straight at you. “I just…” You stopped, not knowing how to finish your sentence. Were you going to tell him the truth and say that it was because you weren’t with him? What would he think of you if you would throw that kind of confession towards him just like that? What if you would ruin your friendship, there was no more turning back once it was out in the open. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.” He muttered, thinking that
