“Well, I just hope you’ll get better soon.” You said as you clenched your phone in between your shoulder and your ear, hoping for the sake of your own saving money that you wouldn’t drop it. Each time your phone would end up screen down onto the ground you would have a heart attack and your life would be shortened by another five years. “I think I’ll come back soon, but I’ve got quite a bad flu. If I would return now I would only make you all ill.” Yuna said and you sighed, hoping that she wouldn’t hear it. Of course you wanted her to get better and you felt sincerely bad for her because she was sick and she had to miss classes. But if she wasn’t at school then that meant that you wouldn’t have a seat partner, no lab partner and that you’d need to have such with someone else. Besides, who would study with you in the library after class was over? Well, it was as they said, best friends did everything together and that was what you and Yuna did and when either one of you wasn’t at school it would just feel empty. “You should just sick it out, I’ll make sure to make notes for you.” A panicked look on your alarm clock made you realize that if you wouldn’t hurry out soon that you wouldn’t make it in time. Your parents were both at work, if you’d miss the bus then there would be no one to take you to school, and your folks would be pretty pissed if you would dish a day of class.

As fast as you could you searched for your last text book, telling yourself that next time you had to prepare your bag in the evening instead of this last minute, but you had been saying that for months now and it just wouldn’t work. “Listen, I have to go, I’ll call you later to check up on you.” While making sure the lights were switched off and you hadn’t forgotten to turn out any electric devises that could burn down your house you walked towards the front door, taking your phone into your hands again. It felt warm in your hold, overheated because of the long time you had spend on the phone already this morning. Your mom wouldn’t like it if your phone bill would reach over it’s limits again this month, you could already imagine her grounding you. “Okay, have fun today. Don’t miss me too much.” She said with a playful voice and even though you knew that she wouldn’t see it still you stuck out your tongue before hanging up the call and putting your phone away into one of the pocket of your jeans. When you opened the front door you crawled even deeper into your scarf, knowing that from other people’s view you must look like a eskimo at this point, but you didn’t care. It was cold, and your solution to that was layers, lots and lots of layers of clothing. You weren’t the one who was standing there shaking as you waited for the bus to arrive though. After letting out a big sigh you began to make your way towards the bus stop, feeling how every single nerve inside of your body screamed how you didn’t want to go to school today. But unlike your friend you didn’t have the privilege to be sick today and take a day off, so you would just have to deal with it.

When you came closer you could see that there were already two kids standing at the stop, they were both younger than you. One of them was even smaller than his backpack, you wondered if those kids ever fell back while having to carry them, it was almost as if they fitted inside of them. They seriously looked like turtles, but than once again you hadn’t probably been looking like that too when you had been younger, so you didn’t have the right to laugh. Without saying anything you joined them, taking out your phone again just to pretend as if you had someone to talk to and as if you weren’t a loner. You opened a blank field and began to type away, meaningless words and sentences, you couldn’t even read yourself. But it looked better than looking as if you didn’t have anyone to talk to. On the top of your screen you made sure to keep an eye on the time, it wouldn’t be the first time you would have arrived late at school just because the bus did. Out of the corner of your eye you could see another figure moving your way, and you didn’t have to life your head in order to know who it was. He was always later than the rest, feeling to important to wait longer than necessary inside of the cold, just like everyone else had to do. Still he had never missed his bus even once, he always managed to get here just in time. It was almost as if the driver secretly waited for him, just to make sure that he would step up.

As you lifted your head slowly to secretly look at him you could see that he was wearing a
