“Are you coming with us?” He asked it so nicely, that it was almost unable for you to refuse. At another time in your life you wouldn’t have, back then you would have done anything he asked from you. Asking you if you wanted to jump off a cliff with him? Yeah sure, why not? Anything for the guy you loved right? But that had been weeks ago, before everything had changed. You hadn’t really expected anything when Heather had firstly arrived at your school, a transfer student. Even though she was beautiful and sweet you hadn’t thought it would change anything. Man, you couldn’t have been more wrong. Who would have guessed that she wouldn’t only take your best friend from you, but also the person you had been crazily in love with. Unfortunately those two titles belonged to one and the same person. How badly you wished that thing had been different. If you had only fallen in love with someone else. If he had only said no when she had asked him out. If, if… You couldn’t keep on thinking about everything that could have happened, just like everyone else you had to move on with your life. You couldn’t keep living with this self pity for the rest of your life. Of course it hurt that the guy you were in love with had picked someone else over you, even though you had really thought it was about to work out. A part of you would always long for him when you looked at him, but it was time for you to get over this. 
 

He was happy, what more could you want? You couldn’t bring yourself to be selfish and try to hate him for what he had done to you, for breaking your heart the way he did. Sometimes you told yourself that it was just nescience, that he hadn’t know how you felt about him. But that was bull, you had been obvious during the past few months before she had come along. But you had never really directly told him, maybe that was the problem? Guys never really understood what girls meant if they didn’t directly said it right? “Hello, anybody home?” He asked as he waved his hand in front of your face, trying to get you out of your deep thoughts and back into the real world with him. You sniffed before swatting his hand away and reaching down to tie your laces. Your wet hair fell in front of your face, still smelling of sweet shampoo after your shower. One thing was for sure, ever since Baekhyun had been in his new relationship your trainings had become more productive. You could throw all your frustrations in playing volleyball, and sometimes you even felt sorry for the ones standing on the other side of the field and got your balls smashed at their heads. “No, I already have plans.” You replied calmly before standing back up and reaching for your bag. He probably noticed the way you avoided his look because he really tried his best to force you to look him in the eye. 
 

“But it has been two weeks since we last did something together, you know, all of us. Can’t you reschedule?” With all of us he meant him, his girlfriend and his group of tight friends. Before Heather had come along you used to hang out with them all the time. Even they hadn’t been blind for the obvious signs you had been sending Baekhyun’s way. They had all known exactly how you had felt. That was also why you hated it to see the way they looked at you when all of you were together, as if they felt sorry for you. It made you feel pathetic, which was the last thing you wanted. The fact that you were drowning in self pity was enough, you didn’t need that of anyone else. They were right though, you hated seeing them cuddled together while you were sitting only a few feet away and there was nothing else for you to look at but the way she kissed him. It was as if your heart broke all over again. “No, I can’t reschedule. I’ve promised my mom to be home when our guest would arrive. He’s the son of her best friend and he’s coming over because his mom is going onto some business trip or something. My mom promised to take care of him while she’s gone. I thought I told you about that?” To be honest you weren’t looking forward to meeting this guy, at all. You weren’t really looking for some new drama in your life, and especially not if that drama involved men. Now that you were trying to get over one you weren’t that excited about having someone rushing into your life like that. But, it could be a good distraction from everything going on around you. 

“You can’t take him in, you don’t even know him. He might as well be a serial killer or something.” Baekhyun said as he walked with you as you exited the dressing rooms. You rolled your eyes at his complains, because they didn’t make any sense. The worst thing that could happen was that you wouldn’t get along with him, that was all. Then you would show him around and get out of his way. It wasn’t like you had to hang out with him all the time. “It’ll be fine.” You muttered, trying to suppress the frustration you were feeling towards him right now. He shouldn’t be worrying about you like that, he had someone else to think of now and Heather wouldn’t like it if she’d see the two of you hanging out together. She knew exactly how you felt towards her boyfriend, and when he wasn’t looking she made sure to look at you as if you weren’t welcome by his side anymore. She was trying to let you know that she had taken your place and you had to back off, without saying it out loud. And who were you to blame her? You’d probably do the exact same thing if you were her. “Maybe he’s a great guy, who knows?” You tried very hard not to sound too desperate and hopeful. You could use a great guy in your life right now, just someone who you could have fun with. The two of you reached the parking lot and you quickly looked in your bag for your keys. You didn’t want to talk to him about this any longer than you had to. Talking to him reminded you of the fact that he wasn’t yours, that he was taken, that you weren’t his
