What are words
I'm DifferentJunhyung’s POV
“Sing me a song.” Haneul said as I dapped cream onto her cheek.
“Hmm?” I asked.
“Sing me a song.” She repeated.
“What song?” I asked, wiping my fingers.
“Any song.” She said.
“Why suddenly?” I asked, letting her lean against my chest as I circled my arms around her.
“Just feel like it.” She said.
“Hmm.. Okay..” I thought for a while before started singing.
“Anywhere you are, I am near Anywhere you go, I'll be there. Anytime you whisper my name, you'll see. Every single promise I keep, Cuz what kind of guy would I be, If I was to leave when you need me most.” I started singing.
“Hee~” She giggled, playing with my fingers.
“Wae?” I asked, hitting her lap lightly.
“Nothing. Continue.” She said, snuggling closer to me.
“What are words If you really don't mean them When you say them. What are words If they're only for good times Then they don't. When it's love Yeah, you say them out loud Those words, They never go away. They live on, even when we're gone.” I continued.
She closed her eyes and smiled slightly.
“And I know an angel was sent just for me, And I know I'm meant to be where I am, And I'm gonna be. Standing right beside her tonight, And I'm gonna be by your side, I would never leave when she needs me most.” I caressed her hair as I sang.
She grip on my hand loosen and her breathing was stable.
“Are you asleep?” I asked softly.
“Mmm..” She mumbled.
I kissed her hair and continued singing.
“What are words If you really don't mean them. When you say them What are words If they're only for good times Then they don't. When it's love Yeah, you say them out loud Those words, They never go away. They live on, even when we're gone” I sang softly, patting her chest lightly.
“Anywhere you are, I am near Anywhere you go, I'll be there. And I'm gonna be here forever more. Every single promise I keep, Cuz what kind of guy would I be, If I was to leave when you need me most.” I let her lie in down on my lap and covered the blanket over her.
“I'm forever keeping my angel close.” I kissed her on her forehead as I sat down beside her.
“I love you, Angel. Sleep well.” I said as I turned off the lights.
I went outside to make a phone call. I wasn’t going to hide any longer. Whatever that’s going to come, I’ll face it. I love her, and that’s final. It doesn’t matter even if I get hurt. She’s all I want to protect.
“Manager Hyung.” I said.
“Yes?” He answered.
“Manager Hyung, I want to confirm my relationship with Haneul.” I said.
“You what?” He asked.
“I want to confirm my relationship with Haneul.” I repeated.
“Junhyung ah, have you…” I cut him off because I already know what he wants to say.
“I am very sure. I am willing to accept any consequences.” I said.
“But Junhyung, you know what is going to happen right? This may be the end of you.” He said.
“I know, but it’s okay. Hyung, you know how much she means to me. I…” I mumbled.
“Have you talk to her about it?” He asked.
I froze when I heard the door open.
“Junhyung?” He called out.
“I’ll.. call you later.” I said, hanging up the phone.
“Darling, what are you doing out here?” I asked, trying to sound as normal as possible.
I held onto her hand but she pushed me away.
“What is it, Darling?” I asked.
“What were you planning to do behind my back?” She asked, staring at me.
“I…” I stuttered.
“Just a few moments ago you said we should face this together. And now what? You’re going to go out there alone and take on every responsibility yourself?” She asked.
“I don’t mean it that way.” I said, looking down.
She sighed and went back into the room, slamming the door into my face. I opened the door and went in. She was sitting on the bed, staring outside.
“I want to go public. I don’t want to hide anymore. Will you do it with me?” I asked.
“I don’t want to ruin you.” She said.
“Why would you ruin me? Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve only felt better.” I said.
“Junhyung,” She said, turning to me.
“Yes?” I asked.
“Are you.. sure?” She asked.
“Of course.” I said.
“No. I don’t mean that. I mean, about us. Are you sure.. I am the.. one? Or.. Do we have a future? What if we don’t? What if..” Her voice trailed off.
“Are you doubting me?” I asked.
“No. I’m just.. Have you ever weighed the consequences? Is it even worth?” She asked.
I looked at her. Why is she saying such things?
“Why are you saying such things now? After all that we’ve been through, is it not enough to prove my love for you?” I asked, feeling disappointed.
“It’s just that… What if.. Everything crushes down and then one day you wake up.. And just happen to realize.. I am not the one for you?” She asked.
We were silent for quite a while.
“I don’t care about the future, because whatever happens is not something I can control or change. I am just concerned about now. Are you, or are you not, going to support me?” I asked.
“I… Don’t know.” She bit her lips.
“I take that as a no. But it’s fine. I’m doing it anyway.” I said, walking out of the room.
Have I not done enough to give her a sense of security? I must have done a terrible job.
“Do you think we’ll need raincoats to shield ourselves?!” I heard a voice from behind yell.
I turned back and saw Haneul.
“What?” I asked.
“If your fans throw eggs, flour, water, rubbish on us the moment you confirm our relationship, do you think we need raincoats to shield ourselves from it? It’s really difficult to wash off.” She said, walking towards me.
“You’ll not need a raincoat, because you have a human shield. I wouldn’t need a raincoat, because I’m willing to be dirtied by those, just as long as when we get home, you clean me up.” I said, hugging her.
“Then we’ll do it together, okay?” She said.
“Okay.” I planted a kiss on her forehead.
“Let’s get this very naughty patient back to bed!” I said, scooping her up in my arms.
“Aikkk!! Let me down!” She laughed, but snuggled closer to me. How weird, this girl.
"What are words?" She suddenly asked as I tugged her into bed.
"Huh?" I looked at her, confused.
"What are words?" She asked again, smiling.
"I love you?" I said.
"Very good words." She smiled, pulling me down by my shirt and kissing me on my lips.
I don't know what will happen the moment I confirm our relationship. Like she said, what if things go wrong? What if we weren't each other's 'right one' after all? But at this moment, all those are just pointless worries. I have her, she has me, it is enough, at least for the both of us right now.
