Haneul’s POV

“Be careful alright?” Jace said as he helped me with my bag.

“I will. You take care too.” I said.

“Don’t bully the kids.” I said, poking him.

“What!? Isn’t it the other way round?!” He laughed.

I shrugged my shoulder and left.

When I arrived at the meeting place, almost three quarter of the people were already there. Beast wasn’t there yet. I looked at my watch, it was 6.45AM.

“I bet you haven’t eaten.” A co-worker said, handing me a bun.

“Thanks. You even got time to go buy this?” I asked, chewing on the bread.

“I didn’t.” He said.

“You didn’t? Then who?” I asked.

“Beast.” He said.

I choked on my bread.

“Omo! Are you okay?!” He asked, handing me a bottle of water.

“I’m good. Ha~ Beast? They are not even here.” I said.

“They were the first to arrive.” He said.

“First!?” I yelled a little too loudly.

“Surprised right? I was surprised too.” He said.

“Then where are they now?” I asked.

He pointed to the side. They were sprawled out on the seats, either sleeping or dazing out.

“The meeting place is here. What are they doing there?” I asked.

“They looked as thou they were going to pass out, so we asked them to wait over there while the others arrive. Do you have something against them? You seem to hate them a lot.” He said.

“No.” I mumbled, chewing on my bread.

I found myself staring in their direction. They indeed look tired. Since they had a break, why did they choose to come and do hard labor instead of resting at home?

I looked at my watch. It was already 7AM and everyone had arrived. I look over at Beast, they were still in the same position as they were before. Everyone else were just chatting, unaware of the time. Since we still had two hours before our flight, I kept quiet about the time.

“Skye, it’s 7.20AM. Everyone is here. Shall we go?” Someone asked.

“Huh? Erm.. Are you sure everyone is here yet? Do a head count.” I said.

“I’ve counted already. Everyone is here.” He said.

“Count again.” I mumbled.

“But why?” He asked.

“Just to make sure.” I said.

He look at me weirdly and started counting. I watch Doojoon look at his watch tiredly. He must have realized the time because he shot up and hurriedly wake whoever that was sleeping up.

“Let’s go.” I announced when they were near us.

I could hear them run towards us. I looked straight as I walked and prevented myself from turning back. I was surprised by a yank on my arm.

“You think you could ditch us?” A familiar voice said.

I didn’t have to look. I already knew who it was. I kept quiet and continued walking.

“It’s not going to be that easy.” He said, with a hint of cockiness in his voice.

“Let go of my arm.” I hissed.

“What if I say no?” He said.

 “Let go.” I said again, struggling out of his grip that seems to only get tighter.

I didn’t want to hit him, but he was testing my patience.

“No.” He said.

Before I could elbow him, he moved away and smirked as thou nothing happened. He joined the rest of Beast, leaving me raging with anger.

“Damn..” I mumbled under my breath.

After we checked in, we still had a while until the plane takes off.

“Erm… Since we can start boarding the plane already, why not like this, whoever who wants to board the plane can go, those who want to walk around to perhaps buy some stuff can go too, but please take note of the timing.” I said.

They agreed and we separated. I went to walk around before heading to the plane. When I arrived, I looked around for my seat. My seat was taken by another co-worker who wanted to sit with her boyfriend.

“Skye, please?” She pleaded.

I smiled and nodded. I saw an empty seat beside Junhyung, but of course I would not want to sit beside him. I looked around for other empty seats that belonged to our group, but there were none. I had the strong urge to grab any young girl and swop place with her. I am pretty sure she would be more than happy to be able to sit beside Junhyung. Our eyes met and he smirked at me, gesturing me to sit beside him, as thou telling me I had no other choice. How cocky. I didn’t want to do what I planned to do, but he sparked the fire, so I'll just play along. I smiled at him before looking around for my target.

I tapped one of the youngest volunteer in our group and whispered to her while smirking at Junhyung. Horror and shock spelt on his face as the girl stood up and I took her seat. The other Beast members watch our play in awkwardness. They never spoke to me, I guess after what I did to them yesterday, they would not even try anymore.

‘I know you're dying to sit with one of the Beast's member. Take my seat and sit with Junhyung over there, but stay calm huh. Do not start snapping photos unless he allows it. Remember, we are professionals.’That’s what I told the girl.

The flight was a long one. I wasn’t much of a sleeper on planes, so most of the time I just gaze out of the window or look around. The Beast boys were all asleep, including Junhyung. For a split moment, I felt sorry for setting him up. But then again, if not for his cockiness, I would have submitted myself and sat beside him.

I found myself staring at every little action he or the girl did.

‘Stop it, Skye.’ I scolded myself in my head, but it didn’t exactly work.

Junhyung has really lost a lot of weight, but seeing how he ate, it was just expectable. I watch the boys try to persuade him to eat more than just the bread, but he refused. They eventually gave up and continued with whatever they were doing. Was his appetite that bad?

When we finally arrived in Kenya after thirteen hours, we were all aching all over but happy. We collected our luggage before gathering again to wait for our transport.

“Alright, let me repeat this again, just in case some of you didn’t hear me say this the other time.” I said, staring specifically at Junhyung who was dazing out.

Yoseob nudged him and he turned to look at me, smirking again.

“We’re a team. We are supposed to work together, not individually. Whoever who thinks they can come here and be a hero, I invite you to board the next plane back to Seoul.” I said.

“Who’s acting like the hero now?” Junhyung mumbled, loud enough for me to hear.

“I beg your pardon, Mr Yong?” I crossed my arms, staring at him.

“He’s out of his mind. Don’t mind him.” Doojoon hurriedly explained, pinching Junhyung on his arm.

“I’m not.” Junhyung said.

I bit my tongue, controlling myself from throwing my shoe at him.

“So as I was saying, whatever problems we meet while on our mission, please never try to solve it on your own. Either come to me or whichever in-charge you can find.” I said.

“I thought you said no heroic act. What is this? Psh~” Junhyung commented.

I glared at him while Doojoon tried to apologize.

“Most of you here have not been to Kenya before, so you aren’t familiar with the people, their culture and behavior. They aren’t wild people, but a handful of them are still not comfortable with us being there, therefore they might react in a way that isn’t as civilized.” I said.

“You call yourself a volunteer when you’re indirectly calling those whom you are supposed to help a barbarian?” Junhyung mumbled.

I clenched my fist. I could feel my blood pressure rising, but it would only do me no good if I flare up at him now.

“In any case you can’t find any of us, feel free to head to those local volunteers for help. They are definitely much experienced and convincing than us foreigners.” I said.

“Pushing responsibilities now..” Junhyung said under his breath.

Why is he doing this? Why has he become so hateful? I threw the bottle I was holding in my hand and pushed my way towards him.

“Haneul ah! Please, no. I beg you.” Yoseob caught my arm.

I pushed him away and grabbed onto Junhyung’s shirt.

“You have an issue with me?” I asked.

“You mean I can’t voice my own opinions?” He said.

“What are you unhappy with? Let’s settle it now. I don’t need troublemakers there.” I said.

He started whistling to Hyunseung’s ‘Troublemaker’.

Junhyung’s POV

Haneul stared at me dangerously. I could tell she was raging with anger and if she could, she would punch me right now. I felt hurt that she was angry with me but happy at the same time because we were having contact. What weird emotions.

“Please.” Kikwang begged.

“Skye, transport’s here.” One of the volunteers stuttered.

They must have never seen Haneul get mad before because they were all in the state of shock.

Haneul let go of me, pushing me backwards in the process, before stomping off.

“Junhyung, what is wrong with you?” Doojoon asked, sounding clearly disappointed.

I shook my head and headed up the van.

I sat all the way behind, but my eyes were glued to the familiar back view. The boys shot me dirty looks and ignored me throughout the journey. I guess I have gone too overboard with my games that it is starting to irritate them as well.

Haneul ah, sorry for behaving like this. I may have used the wrong method, but I am desperate to have some conversation with you. It hurts me the fact I am the cause of your unhappiness, but I know that isn’t a valid excuse. Haneul ah, I’m so sorry.
