I'm DifferentHaneul’s POV
“I thought you weren’t coming back.” Jace said over breakfast.
“Why? You’re hoping I don’t come back is it?” I asked.
“No! The other time I asked you said you weren’t sure. And then suddenly you showed up.” He said.
“I miss home.” I said.
“And I miss you.” He said.
“Psh~ You didn’t bring any girls back to in my bed, right?” I asked.
“Mind your language! What kind of girl goes around talking like that? And no, am I that sort?” He scoffed.
“THEN YOU BROUGHT GUYS HOME!?” I yelled.
He picked up a magazine and smacked my head with it.
“Oww~! What was that for!?” I whined.
“To clear the dirty thoughts in your head.” He said.
“Whatever! Anyway, Mom asked you to join us for reunion dinner.” I said.
“Of course I’m going!” He said.
“Right~ When have Jace ever rejected a meal treat?” I said.
“Shut up. When are you going back?” He asked.
“Why? Can’t wait for me to go so you can bring girls back?” I asked.
“Ya ya. I actually use our home as a brothel when you’re not around. Satisfied?” He asked.
“Very!” I smiled.
“So????” He asked, waiting for my answer.
“I told him a month or two.” I said.
“A MONTH OR TWO!?” Jace yelled.
“Ya! Why!?” I said as I cleared the plates.
“No wonder he was so sulky yesterday!” He said.
“He is always sulky.” I laughed.
“Poor boy.” Jace shook his head.
“For a relationship to work out, space is needed.” I said while washing the dishes.
“Space is definitely needed, but not time apart like this!” He said.
“Why are you so worried about us? Are you afraid that if I break up with him, I’ll end up coming back here to invade space?” I asked.
“Of course! If you’re back, my brothel will close down!” He said.
“Right….” I said.
We showered and went out for shopping.
“I feel like a foreigner in my own country.” I said as we walked the streets.
“I’m not surprised. You know how fast we change.” He said, sipping on his drink.
“And it’s so freaking hot here as compared to Korea.” I said.
“You were the one who wanted to walk the streets for fresh air when I wanted to go into the mall!” He yelled.
“Alright! Let’s go in! Stop yelling at me or I’ll tape your mouth up.” I said, glaring at him.
We glared at each other for awhile before bursting into laughter. We linked arms and walked into the mall.
“Oh my gosh~” I mumbled, hiding behind him.
“What is it?” He asked.
“I saw my friend. That loud hailer” I whispered.
“And so? Do you think hiding like this would help? There’s a freaking mirror behind you, Stupid. Just say hi. She’s your friend.” He laughed.
“No!! I don’t want to! Oh my god she saw..” I was cut off by a loud voice.
“SKYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!” I heard the voice shout across the mall.
Almost instantly, everyone stopped walking and stared at me.
“Great, now the whole mall knows my name.” I mumbled, walking out from behind Jace.
“Hi~” I faked a smile.
“Oh my gosh! Best friend! Where have you been!?” She asked, throwing herself onto me.
‘Somewhere none of your concern. Now, get the off me.’ I thought in my head.
“Just around.” I smiled, pushing her away lightly.
“Oh~ Is this your boyfriend?” She asked, eyeing Jace.
“No.” I said.
“Don’t lie!” She laughed.
Jace showed her a really fake smile.
“I’m Jace. Nice to meet you.” He said, stretching out his hand.
“Oh, hi~” My friend said, winking at him.
I looked away, giggling. Jace just dug his own grave.
She continued flirting with Jace while I look at other stuff.
“How could you just leave me there!?” Jace mumbled, running towards me.
“I thought you enjoyed the time with her.” I said, looking at the sunglasses.
“Goodness, she almost glued her body onto mine!” He said.
“You were the one who said I should be nice.” I laughed, trying a pair of sunglasses on him.
“I have lots of these.” He said.
“Just stay still. It’s not for you anyway.” I said.
“You’re going to have to pay me to use me as your model.” He said.
“Models don’t talk.” I said.
I used Jace to try stuff like clothes and accessories for Junhyung since they were almost the same, except Junhyung is thinner.
“Are we the same?” He asked.
“Not really, except for the fact both of you are guys.” I said.
“And then, why use me?” He asked.
“Because you’re the only guy here I know? And, your height is almost the same as his, so I’ll just get him a size smaller since he’s thinner.” I said.
“Are you saying I am fat?” He asked with a slight hint of hurt.
“Fat? You’re not fat. You’re humongous.” I said.
“Carry all these yourself.” He said, shoving the pile of clothes onto me.
“Fine! Carry on! Treat me like this.” I said.
“No no. How would I dare? I’ll be dead even before I could blink.” He said, taking the stuff back from me.
“Don’t make me sound like some monster please.” I said.
“But you are!” He argued.
I glared at him and continued shopping.
“AHHHHHHHH!! This is so cute!” I said, waving an idiotic looking Daisy Duck.
I could pair it with the Donald Duck he gave me.
“It looks like it got ran over by a lorry!” Jace laughed.
“Don’t you dare insult soft toys!” I shoved the toy into his face.
“Are you really buying it!?” He asked.
“Of course!” I said.
“Do you want one?” I asked.
“I want this.” He said, picking up the Alien.
“I thought you said it looked like it got banged by a lorry?” I .
“Just buy it for me with no questions asked would you!?” He stuck out his tongue.
“Where did your manners go to!?” I smacked him with the toy.
“Eaten up by a dog.” He said sadly.
After shopping, we sat down at a café for a drink.
“Almost everything is his.” Jace grumbled.
“Gosh~ Stop grumbling like an old man.” I said, looking through the stuff I bought.
True enough, almost everything was Junhyung’s.
“You’re head over heels him.” He laughed.
“Do you have an issue with that? Do you rather I treat him like dirt?” I asked.
“No. Don’t ever try to play around with a guy okay. I can tell he is serious, so you better be too.” He said.
“You sound like I’ve always been playing around, damn it.” I mumbled.
“Maybe?” He laughed.
I grabbed a handful of tissue and threw it at him.
“I’m not that sort!” I defended myself.
“I know I know.” He said, patting my head.
We stayed in the café, reading and sipping our drink. It has been long since I actually sat down in a café like this with company.
“Oh my gosh.” I said, putting my book down.
“What?” Jace asked, still not looking up from his book.
“I’m done with this. I was telling myself ‘I’ll stop at the next chapter’ and then, it’s over!” I said.
“That’s so you.” He laughed, putting down his book as well.
“Oh why is it so dark?” He asked, looking outside.
“It’s… 10PM!?” I said, a little too loudly.
“Aghhh~ No wonder my back hurts.” He stretched.
“Let’s go. The people here must be cursing at us. Spend $7 on a drink and stay here for eternity.” I said.
“It’s the book’s fault.” He said, finishing the drink and grabbing our stuff.
“So now where do we go?” I asked as we headed towards the car.
“Let’s go for some fresh air.” He said.
We drove up to an empty highway and parked the car by the side.
“Remember how we use to come up here?” He asked, leaning against me.
“Yes. How could I forget?” I said, looking out at the busy road.
“Skye,” He called out.
“Hmm?” I answered, not looking at him.
“Are you happy?” He asked.
I looked at him, surprised at his question.
“Honestly, I have never been happier.” I smiled.
“That’s really good. Ever since you met him, your smile is back, and even wider.” He said, pulling him close to him.
“I doubt I’ll ever meet anyone like Junhyung for the second time.” I said.
“Not even me?” He asked.
“You’re an exception, you know it.” I punched his stomach lightly.
“I’m really grateful for Junhyung.” He said.
“Why? Because he got rid of me for you?” I .
“You know it’s not the case.” He laughed.
“But yea, home is quieter without you.” He said.
“How is home quieter without me? With all the and all~” I said.
“Nah~ I put up the sound proof when I open business for my brothel.” He said.
“Are they strong enough?” I asked.
“Quite I guess. Since no police has came up yet.” He smiled.
“That’s good. Are you making good money? Do you provide yourself for service?” I asked.
“Why? Do you want to try?” He narrowed his eyes at me, smirking.
“EWWW ERT!!!!!!!!” I yelled, pushing him away.
We stood against the car, enjoying the night wind until dawn.
“So, are you serious about only going back after a month or two?” He asked on the way back.
I looked at him and laughed. He laughed as well and continued driving.
