White lie
I'm DifferentJunhyung’s POV
“Are you okay?” Doojoon asked.
“Yea.” I said, forcing a smile.
“Come, I’ll take you back.” My manager Hyung said.
“Huh? Hyung, but I’m okay.” I said.
“You look like you’re going to pass out. Come on.” He said, tugging my arm.
“Sorry guys.” I said.
“Hyung, don’t be crazy. Keep your stomach warm okay.” Dongwoon said.
“Yea okay.” I said, following my manager Hyung out.
I was having horrible stomach cramps and backaches. It was so painful to the point I couldn’t even walk straight. Luckily it wasn’t so bad during the Music Back performance but it just got worse. Stupid body, always pulling such pranks when I needed to be serious at work.
“Hyung, I can manage alone.” I said to my manager Hyung.
“You sure? No, I think I better stay with you.” He said, turning into our dorm.
“Hyung, I’m sure. I’ll just sleep.” I said.
He thought for awhile before handling me a white bag.
“Take two of these painkillers and go to sleep okay?” He said.
I nodded and made my way up. My phone rang. It was Haneul.
“YONG JUNHYUNG WHERE ARE YOU!?” She screamed.
“Huh?” I asked.
“WHAT HUH!? YOU TOLD ME TO MEET YOU AT KBS!!” She yelled.
“Oh crap.” I mumbled.
“PLEASE DON’T TELL ME YOU LEFT ME HERE ALONE!!” She shouted.
“Sorry Darling. I’m sorry.” I mumbled, clutching onto my stomach as I tried to open the door.
“How could you?” She whined. I could picture her pouting.
“Sorry. I wasn’t feeling too well so I left first. I’m sorry.” I apologized.
“What happened to you?” She asked.
“My stomach and back hurts.” I said.
“Huh? Did you eat something wrong?” She asked.
“No idea.” I said.
Of course it wasn’t food. But how could I tell her it’s my period, right?
“Then are you feeling okay now? Where are you? Are the others with you?” She asked.
“I’m feeling better because I heard your voice.” I said.
“Aish! Don’t be so cheesy now!” She scolded.
“It’s true. Anyway, I just got back to the dorm and no, the others aren’t with me.” I said.
“How can you be alone when you’re unwell!?” She shouted.
“Shhh~ Aren’t you in the public. Not so loud.” I said.
“They can’t just leave the show halfway right?” I continued.
“But you’re alone.” She mumbled.
“You can talk to me.” I said.
“No. I think you need to rest.” She said.
“Don’t hang up.” I pleaded.
“No no. Rest well okay? Bye.” She hung up the call even before I could reply.
“I want to talk to you.” I mumbled.
Just as I was about to cover the blanket over myself, the door bell rang. Who was it? The boys knew the password. Were we expecting any visitors? Why of all times, now? I dragged my feet out of my room.
“Who is it?” I asked.
“Quack!” I saw the Duckie on the screen.
Haneul!?
I quickly went to open the door and she was grinning at me.
“Why are you here?” I asked, unable to hide my smile.
“Oh sorry. Should I go?” She asked.
“No no. Please, stay with me.” I pulled her in.
Haneul’s POV
“But how did you know where I stayed? How did you make it here so fast?!” He asked.
“Of course I know. Well, unless you were planning on keeping it a secret from me. And, I’m Haneul, I have my ways.” I said, looking around their dorm.
“No! Of course not! And yes, you’re Haneul, I know.” He said.
“Just kidding. How are you feeling?” I asked.
“Ahhh it hurts.” He whined, bending over.
“You didn’t look like you hurt a lot just now.” I said.
“It’s really pain!” He pouted.
“Okay fine. Go to your bed then. Where is your room?” I asked.
He pointed and I helped him to his bed.
“How do you like our room? Or rather, my area?” He asked.
I just smiled. The place was messy and had clothes everywhere. If I said I liked it, I would be lying. If I was too honest, he may cry.
“The entire place is like a pig sty. I told them to clean and they just ignore me. I clean up and they throw. What am I? A maid?” He mumbled.
“Okay shut up and sleep.” I said, covering the blanket over him.
“Where are you going!?” He pulled my arm when I walked out.
“Going to get you something to ease your pain. Just sleep.” I said.
I search around their kitchen, trying to find something that I could use to fill hot water but wouldn’t be too hot to the skin. I couldn’t find anything so in the end I used a random bottle and wrapped a thin towel over it so it would not be so hot. When I went back to the room, he was frowning and he looked really uncomfortable.
“Junhyung.” I called out.
He opened his eyes slightly and smiled at me.
“It’s a quite hot, but I promise it’ll get comfortable, okay?” I said, rubbing his stomach a little.
“What’s that?” He asked in a tiredly hoarse voice.
“Just hot water. But it helps blood circulation, therefore eases the pain.” I said.
He nodded.
I went closer to him and slowly placed the scorching hot bottle of water onto his stomach. He jumped a little and squeezed his eyes shut to endure it. I rolled it slightly so the heat would not be concentrated at one area.
“Is it still too hot?” I asked.
He shook his head but I knew it was burning because I too was holding onto the bottle. I took the bottle away and replaced it with my hand, rubbing his belly a little. He opened his eyes and smiled at me.
“What?” I asked.
“You’re so gentle. It’s weird.” He said.
“Oh you prefer I do this?” I asked, flicking his stomach.
“Owww. Please. It hurts.” He whined.
“I’m sorry.” I laughed as I continued to roll the bottle over his stomach.
“Just sleep okay.” I said.
He shook his head.
“Come on, you need to sleep.” I said.
“Stay with me.” He said.
“I have to get to work, but first, you need to sleep. Don’t be a kid.” I said.
He pouted and nodded.
“Is it feeling better?” I asked.
He nodded.
“How do you know this would work?” He asked.
“Of course I do. I’m a girl.” I said.
“Whatever pain you’re experiencing, I’ve experienced ten times worse. Well, maybe this really hurts, I don’t know.” I said.
He smiled awkwardly and shifted a little.
“Why? Come, turn over, I’ll do your back.” I said.
He rolled onto his side and allowed me to warm up his back. I massaged him a little to ease the pain.
“Did you watch the performance?” He asked.
“No! I was really waiting downstairs okay! And then I saw you leave with your manager. You forgot about me.” I said.
“I’m sorry.” He turned over, shifting to lie on my lap.
“I’ll forgive you only because you’re unwell.” I said, playing with his hair.
“Watch the performance and tell me how you like it.” He said.
He held his iPad up for me while I watch the video and massaged him.
“WAH! THE CAMERAMAN IS SO FREAKING BIASED!” I yelled.
“What?” He asked.
“You were rapping and he just panned away!” I shouted.
“Hahahaha! It’s okay.” He pinched my cheek.
“It’s not okay! So rude! Basic manners okay! Wah! FAILED!” I yelled.
“When did you become so concerned?” He asked.
“What are you implying?” I frowned.
“Nothing. Just happy my girlfriend actually pays attention.” He snuggled his face into my stomach.
“It’s ticklish!” I laughed.
“Really?” He asked, snuggling his face further.
“YAH!!” I laughed, pushing him away a little.
“It’s okay if the cameraman doesn’t show my face at all. It’s better this way. Like that I can be special just for you.” He said.
“Unwell yet so cheesy?” I pinched his cheeks.
“Okay really. Sleep and I need to go.” I said.
“So fast?” He pouted.
“Just sleep.” I kissed his forehead.
I stayed beside him, warming his stomach and rubbing his back. He fell asleep pretty quickly, which was a good thing, so at least he doesn’t feel the pain. I know how terrible the pain could be. I was used to it, but I guess it’s something new to him. He must have been hurting a lot.
“Poor thing.” I mumbled, touching his cheeks.
I grabbed a small pillow from the side and put it over his stomach before covering him with the blanket.
“Goodbye.” I whispered, giving him a kiss on his cheek.
I turned off the lights and left his room.
Just as I was about to open the door, I heard noises outside, and then the door click open. I froze, as well as the five other guys.
“Who are… you?” The one named Doojoon asked.
“I… Erm… Ah…” I stuttered.
I couldn’t tell them I was Junhyung’s girlfriend. Firstly, I didn’t know if Junhyung wanted them to know. And also, I don’t know if they can accept me.
“So? Who are you?” Yoseob asked, frowning a little.
“I am…” I mumbled, trying to think of something to say.
“Are you the new cleaning lady!?” Kikwang suddenly shouted.
What the hell, Kikwang? Which part of me looked like a cleaning lady?
“AH YES!” I smiled.
“So young.” Hyunseung mumbled.
“Times are bad. I have to work to feed my family.” I said.
“So erm.. You’re leaving already?” Doojoon asked.
“Ah yes. I thought it wasn’t appropriate to clean since Junhyung is here. So I’ll be leaving.” I said.
“Wait for awhile. I’ll get you your pay.” He said, walking passed me.
“What? It’s okay! I didn’t do anything! Ah! I need to go! I’ll come to clean again soon!” I shouted, running down the stairs.
“YAH!!!” I heard one of them yell.
That was close. Really, really close. I lied, but it was a white lie, so I guess it's okay?
