1 day to wedding

Haneul’s POV

“I really suspect that you’re not normal at all.” Jace said as we sat in a Japanese restaurant, waiting for other friends to arrive.

“What?” I looked at him, sipping my tea.

“You really did it?” He asked.

“Yes. I mean, why not? It’s his bachelor’s night. He should have fun. You were invited too, I don’t even know why you’re here.” I said.

“I’m here because I want to spend your last night as a single girl with you!” He exclaimed.

“Right, or are you here so you can see you-know-who?” I .

“Yah! Yah! Yah!” He frowned at me.

“I’ll shhh~” I stuck out my tongue at him.

“But seriously, you booked everything? The whole damn club?” He asked.

“Yes, how many times do I have to repeat myself, old man? I booked the whole damn club and I invited almost everyone I could think of.” I said.

“You even invited the females? Are you normal!? You know with alcohol and woman, the things men can do…” He said.

“Then let him do it. It’ll be his last time anyway.” I said.

“Oh my god! Are you really that open minded or you simply give no ?” He slapped the menu closed.

“I trust Junhyung, okay?” I said, looking at him.

“I trust him to know what he is doing. I mean, if he wanted to cheat on me or do something funny, he would have done it long ago. Not like I am some sort of goddess or what . I’m just… me.” I said.

“You’re impossible.” He sighed.

“I just want him to have fun.” I said.

“A club is dangerous.” He said.

“What? Did you expect me to request him to hold his bachelor’s party in the park with a picnic under the stars or something?” I asked.

“That’s a pretty good idea. I’m sure if you ask baby boy to do that, he’ll do it for sure.” He said.

“I know he would, and for goodness sake! Stop calling him baby boy! Not only are you embarrassing him, you’re embarrassing yourself.” I said.

“No, I think it’s cute. He likes it too.” He smiled.

I rolled my eyes at him. There is no point in arguing with him over it.

“SKYE!” A familiar voice yelled.

I turned and waved at the figure walking towards us.

“Eh? Where’s your boy?” My friend asked, settling down beside me.

“It’s bachelor’s night.” I said.

“Oh right! I forgot.” She smiled.

“Hi, Jace!” She waved.

Jace seemed to be out of the world.

“JACE!” I yelled, clapping my palms in his face.

“OH! Hi!” Jace snapped out, smiling awkwardly.

My friend smiled at him and then turned back to me.

“So did he tell you where he would be going?” She asked.

“This crazy here, booked a club, invited everyone possible, from friends to working partners, and let him just go wild.” Jace said.

“You did that?” My friend looked at me.

“It’s the least I can do for him.” I smiled.

“But alcohol and girls don’t go well together.” She said.

“Come on! I’m not even worrying, why are you guys freaking out?” I asked.

“He better appreciate the freedom you’re giving him.” She mumbled.

I smiled and thought back of Junhyung’s reaction when I asked him to go back to the dorm for the night.

/FLASHBACK

“Of course you’ll stay in the dorm tonight. It’s your bachelor’s night. Are you going to spend it with me? I am not going to spend it with you thou.” I said.

“But why? We can have dinner and all.” He pouted.

“Goodness, go and have fun. I want my fun too.” I said.

“Then why can’t I come home?” He asked.

“Just go and stay in the dorm! The bride and groom should not be seeing each other before the wedding.” I said.

“But….” He pouted.

“GO! Go and have fun! This is your last time. I’ll never allow you to go clubbing or something like that after tonight.” I said.

He looked at me with wide eyes.

“Just kidding. But really! Go!” I said.

The doorbell rang and I ran to get it.

I opened the door and the remaining Beast members screamed ‘HELLO!’ into my face.

“Hi~” I laughed.

“Where’s the boy?” Doojoon smiled.

“Please go and drag him out.” I said, making way for them to come in.

They ran into the room and slammed the door. I could hear their commotion from outside. They were yelling and laughing, but when they stepped out of the room, I could not even speak.

“Earth to Haneul~” Hyunseung snapped his fingers in my face.

“Wah.. Hahaha.. Wah..” I laughed like a fool.

“How do we look?” Yoseob asked.

“Damn…. Handsome.” I smiled.

“Of course.” Dongwoon said, earning smacks from the other members.

“Let me help you guys snap a photo.” I said, taking out my phone.

They automatically stood in a row and posed for the camera. Professionals no doubt.

“Alright! Go on, go on!” I hurried them out.

“Come with us~” Junhyung pouted.

I looked at him.

“Are you mad? GO!!!” I laughed, pushing them out of the house.

“We’ll take care of him!” Kikwang smiled.

“Just take care of yourself, Kikwang ah~ I want to see you tomorrow, okay?” I said, earning laughter from the rest.

I did not know if he got what I meant but I doubt judging from his smile.

“We’ll take good care of him. You’ll have your groom tomorrow waiting to take your hand!” Doojoon smiled.

“Have fun and take lots of care. Get drunk, up, but just appear tomorrow.” I smiled.

“I wouldn’t do such things!” Junhyung pouted.

“Alright! Stop pouting!” I pinched his lips.

“See you tomorrow. Wherever you’re going, have fun and take care too!” Yoseob said.

Junhyung kissed me on my cheek.

“Miss and love you.” He whispered.

I smiled and winked at him.

After they left, it was as if all the noise in the world was away. It was so quiet.

I took my time to shower and get change. When I came out of the room, I got a shock because Jace was sitting on the sofa, making himself very at home.

“Ready to go?” He asked, smiling at me.

I nodded and linked arms with him as we headed out.

“I should have came to Korea with you. Gosh~” My friend said as she looked at the photo of Beast I snapped just now.

“You wouldn’t wish to be here. It alright, at first.” I said.

“But look at you now!” She pouted.

“Desperate for a guy?” I .

“Oh my I think I’ll be forever alone.” She grumbled.

“I don’t think so.” I eyed Jace who was spacing out.

“Right, right. You said you would get married at forty-eight too. But how old are you now?” She asked.

“Fifty-five or something.” I laughed.

We continued chatting while Jace spaced out. Our other friends came shortly and we had dinner. After dinner, because I was in no position to club or drink, we headed for shopping, which was a much more interesting activity for us. I shooed Jace away to join the boys in the club. He was reluctant at first, but he went anyway.

Junhyung’s POV

We arrived at the club and were greeted as thou we were VIPs. I looked at the boys, but they just smiled. Just as we were about to step in, a black van pulled up behind us. We stared in shock as the van door opened, revealing Seungho hyung and the other MBLAQ boys. They look like mafias, but their behaviors tell otherwise.

We greeted each other with a chest bump and a hug.

“How are you feeling?” Seungho hyung asked, putting his arm over my shoulders.

“I don’t know. I feel as thou you guys are hiding something from me.” I said.

“Are we?” Seungho hyung asked.

All of them just shook their head.

“Come on, let’s go in!” He said, pulling me inside the club.

When we stepped in, it was dark.

“What is ehhh!!” I was suddenly shoved forward.

The lights came back on, blinding me for a second while deafening cheers filled my ears. I opened my eyes and looked around. The entire club was filled with people. They were not just any strangers, but people I actually knew; People from Cube, stylists and makeup artists, our backup dancers, my close friends like Tiger hyung, Prepix, other CUBE artists, other companies’ artists that I knew, our manager, and even our CEO and Junsung.

I stared at them in shock while they kept laughing and clapping. I turned back to the other boys as well as MBLAQ. They gestured that it was not their idea. I bowed awkwardly at those people, not that I did not want them there, I just did not expect to see so many people. No wonder the club seemed as thou it was booked, it indeed was.

“YAH, YAH, YAH! BABY BOY!” A familiar voice boomed.

I looked around and saw Jace at the second level, having fun with the deejay.

But really, did he have to call me 'baby boy' in front of so many people? 

“Look over there.” He said through the microphone, pointing to his left.

The spotlight followed his direction and flashed onto a big red sign that says ‘COCA-COLA’.

“WAH!” I almost choked.

Underneath the sign were three huge transparent tubes that were filled with my favourite brown fizzy drink. The lights shone down, revealing a huge table filled with food and alcohol, and of course, self service station for my favourite drink. I could not hide my happiness at all.

The lights went off, and then went back on again, focusing on me and Jace.

“Are you curious who is behind all these?” He asked.

I nodded.

“Make a guess, perhaps?” He said.

I pointed to Beast and MBLAQ.

“Well, I think they were only involved in the ‘keeping it a secret’ and ‘bringing you here’ part, am I right?” He said.

The boys nodded.

I pointed at him.

“Me? Me? Really, baby boy? HAHAHA! If it were me, we would all be in the park now. We’ll cycle and eat sandwiches. I wouldn’t ever let you in a club with so much alcohol and oh my very hot girls.” He said, earning laughter from people.

I looked around, I really could not think of anyone who would do this, unless…

I shrugged my shoulders.

“You really don’t know?” Or perhaps you do have an answer in your heart, you just think it is impossible?” He said.

I smiled awkwardly.

“Tell me who you think it is, and we’ll see if you’re right.” He said.

“Haneul?” I tried.

“Yah! Baby boy! I’m at the second level! I can’t hear your whisper! You’re the badass rapper of Beast! You’re the Joker! You don’t whisper! Louder please!” He shouted through the microphone.

“HANEUL!!” I yelled.

He grinned.

“LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!!!” He shouted.

The flickering lights and blasting music went on. The fireworks that blasted around shocked the hell out of me. There were many yelling and cheering.

“COME ON!!!” Seungho hyung yelled, pulling me to the dance floor.

Was it really Haneul?

We had fun dancing and fooling around. People came up to me to congratulate me and toast with me. I did not know how long it went on for but I just kept drinking whoever handed me drinks and danced with whoever that was near me. It has been long since I stepped into a club.

“Come on, have some food.” Doojoon pulled me away.

I was a little tipsy by then, therefore I just leaned onto him for support.

“If you don’t eat anything, you’ll feel very terrible tomorrow.” He said, handing me food.

There were many Coke cans on the table. I grabbed one and regretted instantly. They were not Coke. They were cake designed like Coke cans. Instead of getting me something to wipe my hands, Doojoon laughed.

After we got food, we headed over to where the other boys and MBLAQ were.

“Thanks guys.” I said as I settled down.

“Don’t thank us, really. It wasn’t our idea. I mean, we planned to bring you to a club and have fun, but it wasn’t us who planned this…” Yoseob said, gesturing around.

“Then who?” I asked.

“You guessed it just now, didn’t you!?” Seungho hyung said.

“Haneul?” I asked.

They just laughed and continued eating.

So it is really her? How did she manage to do everything behind my back?

“Come on! Eat!” Hyunseung said, shoving food into my mouth.

We ate, chatted and played games among ourselves. Occasionally some people would come and join us for a while, and then they would leave. Even my CEO came. All of us straighten up as usual.

“Relax!” He laughed.

“Junhyung, it’s your day! Relax!” He smacked my back lightly.

We smiled awkwardly.

“Congratulations.” He said.

“Thank you.” I smiled.

“I didn’t expect you to get married so fast honestly, but I guess… It’s time and I trust you.” He smiled.

“Thank you.” I looked at him.

“Alright, seems like my presence is stressing all of you up.” He laughed.

“No, no, no!” We hurriedly said.

“Join us!” Dongwoon said.

“Nah~ I’ll be there with the others. Have fun! It’s your night, but tomorrow is your big day so… don’t get yourself too drunk~” He poked my cheek before leaving.

After he left, we continued our games. Jace and Junsung came to join us too. We were having fun until two bouncers came over. They were so big sized we were just lost for words.

“Beast and MBLAQ?” One of them asked.

We nodded.

“Come this way please.” He gestured.

We looked at each other. I turned to look at Jace, in hope he would know something, but he shook his head too.

“Please.” He said again.

We were reluctant and quite scared, but we did not dare to say no, so we just followed.

They led us to another room. It was dark. When the lights went on, we were stunned as we stared at the eleven boxes in front of us. Some were huge, and some were moderate, some were just flat. When I say huge, I really meant huge. It was as tall as we were.

We stood close to each other, just for safety purposes. But they separated us, Beast on one side, MBLAQ on another.

“Yong Junhyung sshi, Yang Seungho sshi, could you step out please?” One of them said.

Seungho hyung and I looked at each other.

“Erm…” I stuttered, looking at Seungho.

Seungho hyung stepped out, pulling me behind him.

“We’re not going to kill you or torture you here. We’re just following instructions.” He said.

One of them took my hand and pulled me towards one of the big boxes, while the other man took Seungho hyung’s hand and pulled him towards another big box.

“The rest of you may choose any box you desire.” He said.

“And you can open them now.” He continued.

The two of them stepped aside, leaving us to stare at the boxes in front of us. We were reluctant. It was scary. What if it is something weird inside? Like a corpse or something. I think too much, I know.

Seungho hyung took the first step to cut open the binders of his box. I followed suit and so did the rest of them. When the cardboard and wrapper fell off revealing what was inside, I could not breathe.

An Iron Man suit.

I turned to Seungho hyung who was frowning at his Kungfu Panda suit. Beast’s side were The Avengers while MBLAQ’s side were Kungfu Panda.

There was a post it stuck to the face of the Iron Man suit.

‘I regret to tell you that despite the suit, I doubt you’ll be able to fly like Iron Man can. However, I hope you like it. See! I kept my promise! Have fun and don’t hurt yourself!

Indeed, she is mad.

“I’m sorry we scared you. Haneul sshi instructed us to look as serious as possible until you open up the boxes. She asked you guys to have fun with the suit but don’t dirty it because she wants to see you guys in it tomorrow.” One of them said, smiling.

Our reactions were the same; dropped jaw.

“Have fun, when you’re done playing, we’ll send the suits back to the venue.” He said.

“Erm wait… These…. Haneul… Haneul rented them or??” Joon asked, staring at his suit. He got the Monkey.

“No. These suits are yours. Haneul sshi’s gifts for you all, Yong Junhyung sshi and his best men.” He said.

“Haneul is mad.” I think it was G.O who said it.

They bowed and then left us alone. We stared at each other, and then back at the suit.

“WHY IS MINE THE PANDA!?” Seungho grumbled.

“BECAUSE THAT’S YOU!!!!” We yelled in unison.

“It’s unfair! Junnie has Iron Man! Why?!” Kikwang pouted.

“Because I am the groom.” I smiled.

“What did you get?” I asked.

He was reluctant to show. Yoseob was fast enough to grab his suit and threw it out. Kikwang tried to stop him but he was too late. We burst into laughter looking at the slim black piece of cloth. Kikwang got Black Widow’s suit.

On Beast side, I got Iron Man, Yoseob got the Hulk, Doojoon got Thor, Hyunseung got Hawkeye, Dongwoon got Captain America and Kikwang…. Black Widow.

On MBLAQ’s side, Seungho hyung got Kungfu Panda, of course. G.O got Shifu, the red Panda, Lee Joon got the Monkey, Cheondong got the Crane and Mir got the Tigress.

I called Haneul on her phone, but she did not answer.

We tried on the suits and had fun in it. I could actually move in my Iron Man suit. It felt amazing. Haneul is amazing. I seriously wonder where she managed to get all these from. I did not expect her to take me seriously when I said I wanted the Iron Man suit. I thought the T-shirt was all.

We took turns to try on each other’s suits. We ran around the entire club playing Avengers against Kungfu Panda. Seungho hyung fit into the Panda suit so well. Our appearances as these characters shocked the people around us, but we did not really care. We were having a lot of fun.

“YAH!!!” Kikwang shouted when Hyunseung shot an arrow at his .

We burst into laughter at his pouting expression.

“Sorry! I wasn’t aiming at your !” Hyunseung apologized quickly, but giggling at the same time.

“IRON MAN! YOU LAUGH AT ME BECAUSE I AM A PANDA!?” Seungho hyung yelled, running towards me in his panda suit. Man, this fellow can run.

We were sweaty and tired from ‘fighting’ each other. After playing around for an hour or so, we got out of the suit and let the two men keep it for us.

“I cannot believe that I actually could become Captain America.” Dongwoon said, reluctant to let go of his shield.

“Neither did I think I would become the Hulk.” Yoseob said.

“And this is so cool. I can use this to wake you guys up daily.” Doojoon said, slamming his hammer onto his palm.

“Haneul is quite unfair. Beast is the almighty Avengers, while MBLAQ are animals.” Mir pouted.

“That, you have to blame Seungho hyung.” I said.

“WHY ME!?” He shouted, looking at us.

“BECAUSE YOU’RE THE PANDA!!!” We yelled.

“Aish~” He cursed under his breath, but we heard it anyway.

The rest of the night was spent with more dancing, fooling around, eating and a lot of alcohol. I had no idea how we left the club, but I was back in the dorm with Beast, MBLAQ and Jace. We did like how we did in the past. We piled up blankets, pillows and bolsters in the middle of the living room and lied down in the cot we built.

“Junnie ah~ I can’t believe you’re getting married. My dongsaeng~” Seungho hyung said in a slur, patting my cheek.

He was drunk, and so were all of us.

“Be happy, Junhyung ah~” Doojoon said.

“Come back to the dorm to stay often… Bring Haneul… Bring Tae Hyun and Ji Eun…” He continued.

“Don’t forget us, okay? The times we spent… The happy times… The tough times… The memorable times… We’re Beast… And no matter what happens… We’ll stay Beast.... Even if the whole world turns their back on you…. Know that you have Beast…” He said.

“Hyung…” I mumbled, wiping away the tear that escaped no matter how hard I tried to hold it back.

“Haneul would never turn her back on Junhyung….” Jace said.

“I DON’T KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!” Yoseob started yelling.

“I KNOW!!!!!!!” Jace yelled back, playfully smacking Yoseob.

“Owww hahahaha~ Yea… Jace is right… Haneul…. She would never turn your back on you. I mean… her back on you…” Yoseob corrected himself.

“I agree on that too..” Hyunseung said.

“But…. I mean…. Ah… Just… Know that whatever happens, Junnie, we’ll always be Beast, and we love you Junnie ah!” He pulled me into his embrace.

“I’ll miss you! Why not all of you shift here? We’ll give up our rooms for your family!” Doojoon started crying.

“Aigoo hyung! Don’t cry! You’re making me cry!” I said.

Out of a sudden, all of us started crying and mumbling. We must have fallen asleep while we were at it because when I opened my eyes, everyone around me was asleep already. I looked at the time. It was 4.30AM. I searched for my phone to check if there were any texts from Haneul.

‘My groom, I hope you had fun. Sleep well, and when we meet tomorrow, we’ll officially become one.’

It suddenly dawned onto me; It is tomorrow. My heart started beating so wildly. Am I having a heart attack?

I wanted to text her back to thank her for everything, but the tiredness in my body won. My hands went weak and I dropped my phone onto my face, then darkness greeted me.

The day I have been waiting for since the day I met her. 

It is tomorrow…………… My Haneul....
