Haneul’s POV

We broke apart but he did not move away from me. He was smiling down at me like a fool.

“What is it?” I said, poking the tip of his nose.

He pulled me up and sat next to me. He pulled me closer to him.

“Ten minutes to midnight. Ten minutes to 2012. Anything you want to say? Any regrets?” He asked.

I nodded.

“What?” He asked.

I pointed at him.

“Me!?” He looked disappointed.

I nodded.

“Why?” He asked softly.

“I regret….” I looked at him.

He was trying to force a smile.

“I regret being so mean to you. I regret hurting you. I regret making you sad. I regret not accepting you earlier. I regret doubting your love for me. I regret not loving you enough.” I said.

He kept smiling at his fingers.

“Yah!” I poked his chest.

“2011 is the best year in these 22 years of my life.” He said.

“2011 only? Tsk tsk tsk~” I made a face at him.

He looked at me, confused.

“You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.” I said, cupping his cheeks.

He laughed and blushed.

“How about you? Any regrets?” I asked.

He nodded.

“What? Regretted spending so much time on me?” I asked.

He shook his head.

“I regret not spending enough time with you. I regret once thinking I should just let you go.” He said.

“You did?” I asked.

“Well… I wasn’t very confident at that time.” He said.

“So are you confident now?” I asked.

He nodded.

“Any resolutions for the new year?” I asked.

“Resolutions? I guess so.” He said.

“What?” I asked.

“Erm… I want to be stronger so I can protect you. I want to be a better man for you.” He said.

“For yourself?” I asked.

“Myself? I don’t know. Nothing much. I just want to make memories with you.” He held onto my hand.

“Do you think 2012 is the end of the world?” I asked, leaning against his chest.

“I don’t know. So what if it is or not? If it is, then I’ll have 365 days to make memories with you. Although it’s not enough, but I guess I don’t have a choice. If it’s not, then I’ll use my lifetime to make memories with you. Although it’s still not enough, but I guess I don’t have a choice too.” He said.

“So greedy! Who wants to spend a lifetime with you?” I said.

“You don’t want!?” He yelled.

“I don’t!” I laughed.

“Why!? You are bored of me already!?” He asked.

“Ya. Actually I am kinda bored of you.” I said, pretending to yawn.

He took out his phone and started typing.

“What are you doing?” I asked, trying to peek.

“Finding a home.” He said.

“What home?” I asked.

“A home that is like an old age home but will accept someone my age.” He said.

“Huh? Why?” I asked.

“I would have no one to grow old with, so I might as well live my life there.” He said.

“Hahahaha! No one would accept you!” I laughed.

“That’s why I am searching for one who would make an exception.” He said.

“Age is not a problem.” I said.

“Then what is?” He asked.

“The problem lies with you. You’re too naggy.” I laughed.

“I am not!” He whined.

“You are.” I shouted.

“OH!!” He suddenly yelled.

“What?” I asked.

“HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!” He shouted.

He grabbed me and started swinging me around.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” I shouted, grabbing onto him tight.

“ARE YOU BORED OF ME!?” He yelled.

“YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!” I laughed.

He continued to swing me, no intention to stop at all.

“REALLY!!!!!!!??????” He Yelled.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” I yelled.

He stopped abruptly, causing us both to fall onto the ground. He grabbed me tight so I would be on top of him.

“Ugh~” He whined when his back hit the cold concrete.

“Ahhh dizzy~” I whined, burying my face into his chest.

“Me too~” He laughed.

We both ended up lying on the ground and laughing.

“Gosh~” I panted.

He looked at me and started laughing again.

“Happy New Year.” I said.

“My new year’s resolution is to stick with you through whatever and be the best girlfriend I can ever be.” I whispered to him.

“Me too.” He said.

“You want to be my girlfriend?” I said.

“NO!!! Why are you teasing me on the first few minutes of the New Year!?” He pouted.

“Because that’s my newest and most favourite hobby!” I laughed.

He grabbed my cheeks and stared deep into my eyes.

“What do you want?” I asked with my squashed cheeks.

“I want. To. Eat. You.” He bit his lips and smirked at me.
