Happy Joker Day; Not happy at all
I'm DifferentJunhyung’s POV
Before I could react, my head was pushed into the cake. They cheered loudly when I looked up with that cake smeared face.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!” They shouted in unison.
I smiled and nodded.
“Seungho Hyung.” I called.
“Yes?” He laughed.
“You’re my most precious Hyung.” I said, hugging him, snuggling my face into his neck.
“AHHH GET OFF!!!!” He yelled, but I held him tighter.
“What kind of friends don’t share, right?” I said, smearing cream onto his face.
We had a mini cake fight before eating the cake with our hands.
“Nice! Seungho Hyung, where did you get this from?” Dongwoon asked.
“Huh? It’s not me. I thought it was you guys?” Seungho Hyung said.
“No. We thought you would get it since last year we bought and you did too.” Yoseob said.
“I thought you guys would buy too so I didn’t buy it this year.” He said.
I look at them, confused.
“You mean no one got me a cake?” I said, pretending to be hurt.
“Ah Junhyung, it’s not that.” Doojoon hurried to explain.
“It’s okay.” I said, looking down.
They kept quiet, it was so awkward.
I looked up at them, giggling.
“You little brat!” Seungho Hyung pinned me onto the ground.
The rest followed, shoving cake into my mouth.
“We got it from the reception. It’s probably the fans.” Kikwang said suddenly.
“What?” We asked, confused.
“The cake.” Joon said.
“Only pabos will understand each other.” Seungho Hyung said, causing all of us to laugh.
After cake, we washed up and left the company. There were many fans outside, yelling ‘Happy Birthday’ and handing presents to me.
“Thank you very much for your blessings. Please go home safely.” I bow to them before getting into the car.
We had dinner at the restaurant we frequent. Lots of food, lots of alcohol, lots of noise, but how come I am still feeling empty inside?
“You okay? Stop drinking already.” Seungho Hyung said, taking away the cup from me.
“Hyung….” I smiled.
“You’re drunk.” He said.
“No. I’m just fine.” I said.
“Kids, let’s go.” My manager Hyung said.
Seungho Hyung helped me up while the other boys helped each other.
“Kamshahamida!” I bowed to them before we left.
“Happy Birthday!” They said once again.
Everyone was tired and drunk. I felt dizzy and uncomfortable as well.
“Hyung..” I called out.
“Yes?” My manager said.
“Bookstore..” I mumbled.
“What!? No!” He frowned.
“BOOKSTORE!!!!” I whined.
“Junhyung. No! It’s late. Go tomorrow.” He said.
“Yah Junnie. Don’t go.” Doojoon Hyung said with his eyes closed.
I unbuckled my seat belt and got off the car.
“YAH!!!! YONG JUNHYUNG!!!” My manager shouted and ran after me.
“YOU’RE NOT SENDING ME! THEN I’M WALKING THERE MYSELF!!” I shouted.
“Okay okay! Get back in. I’ll send you there.” He said, pulling me back to the car.
My manager Hyung sent the boys back first before sending me to the bookstore.
“What time will you be done? I’ll pick you up.” He said when we arrived at the bookstore.
“I’ll go home myself. Thank you, Hyung.” I said.
“Junhyung ah.” He frowned.
“I’ll be fine.” I said, shutting the door.
I unlocked the shutter and went inside.
“Hi Duckie!” I said, pulling him out from my bag.
“What did you say?” I asked him.
“Oh! Happy Birthday huh? Thank you!” I gave it a kiss.
I walked around the bookstore, trying to clear my head, but it didn’t work.
“She’s not coming back already, right?” I asked the Duckie.
“I know she isn’t.” I mumbled.
“Is it time I stop coming here?” I asked.
“Maybe it’s really time to stop.” I said.
“But I’ll miss her. I’ll miss this place. I…” I found myself crying.
I squatted down, sobbing into my palms.
“Sorry I wet you.” I apologized to the soft toy.
I slipped an envelope into the book she was reading before going down to the basement. I collapsed onto the floor and fell asleep almost instantly. My head felt heavy and clouded. I guess it’s time I stop everything. I promise this would be the last time, and then I am gone for good.
