Hoku had been feeling unusually weird these past few days since the baby shower. The baby moved more, she had slight pain here and there, and sometimes it was too painful for her to walk, but she ignored it all.

Today was finally the day they were heading back to the pension. Hoku was both nervous but slightly excited to see his family again. Even if it had been a while since she had last spoken or seen them, she missed them like she missed her own family. Plus this was a different trip, they were finally going to let the family know about the baby, Jiyong would be a father in the matter of weeks.

Hoku sighed from her spot on the edge of the bed, staring ahead at the sliding door that led out to the backyard.

“Hey? You ok?” A voice startled her as she looked up to see a fully dressed Jiyong walking out of the bathroom.

“Oh yah, I’m fine.” She answered sighing loudly, heavily blowing her bangs out of her face.

“You ready to go?” He asked picking through his hats as she nodded and stood up, only to fall back suddenly holding her stomach.

“Aish.” She hissed biting her lip as Jiyong dropped the box of hats and ran over.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! What’s wrong?! Are you ok?!” He shouted panicking, not sure what he was supposed to do. A few breaths later, Hoku nodded and stood up, stretching as Jiyong just stared at her in a daze.

“I think it was those tacos I ate last night.” She teased rubbing the side of her belly as Jiyong sighed, annoyed.

“Geez, stop doing that. I don’t know how much more my heart can take.” He sighed plopping down on the edge of the bed before lying out.

Before long, the couple had loaded their things into the back of Jiyong’s car and were on their way towards the mountains.

“So you never told your parents?” Hoku suddenly asked as he looked over confused.

“Told them what?” he asked as she pointed to her stomach.

“Oh they already knew you were pregnant from the news release. I just never told them the actual news behind it, I wasn’t sure if we were going to be cool with each other when you got your memory back.” He whispered hurt causing her to smile.

“Well thanks for not telling them, I would like to be there when we do that.” She mentioned now leaving Jiyong smiling.

An hour later, they pulled up the same familiar dirt road causing Hoku to sit up interested.

“It hasn’t changed at all.” She whispered to herself as Jiyong looked over smiling.

“You haven’t been gone that long.” He teased as she chuckled and nodded. They finally emerged from the tree lining to the house on the lake, no longer covered in snow but bright and warm.

“Oh the lake.” Hoku spoke surprised as Jiyong smiled, carefully pulling the car into the parking area.

“The last time we came it was frozen.” She whispered smiling out to the reflection.

“If you want, we can go swimming. The doctor said it’s good for your back to get in the water.” Jiyong mentioned turning off the car as Hoku looked over with a ‘what the hell’ expression.

“You want this to get in the water?” She asked pointing to herself causing him to nod.

“It’ll help get the weight off your feet for a while, plus the water here is really warm.” He added pushing open the door before climbing out into the sunlight. Hoku sat in the car quietly as she stared out the window to the lake. This weekend would really shine some light on her, if her staying here was the right decision. Jiyong pulled open the door to the car as Hoku looked over to his smiling face through his sunglasses.

“Come on, I’m sure they are waiting for us.” He offered his hand while she smiled, placing her hand in his as he carefully pulled her out of the car.

“Let me hold you so you don’t fall.” He suggested, shutting the door before wrapping his arm carefully around her waist while holding her other hand. She blushed ferociously, looking away from his range of sight embarrassed.

“Wow, I think that’s the first time I saw you blush since seeing you again.” He teased causing her to snort, looking around uninterested.

“I miss your blushes.” He whispered kissing her cheek, sending her cheeks on fire.

They slowly waddled to the door before Jiyong turned the handle, pushing it open to welcome the delicious smell flowing out of the house.

“Oh, something smells good.” Was the first thing Hoku said when they stepped foot into the entryway. Jiyong chuckled at her attention to food before helping her out of her sandals and into the offered house slippers.

“Omo.” They heard a voice whisper somewhere in the house.

“We’re here!” Jiyong finally shouted, putting his arm back around her waist just as they welcomed the stampede of Jiyong’s family around the corner.

“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
