Author’s POV…

“Come on Ji.” Youngbae pulled his friend out of the plane seat forcefully. It seriously felt like dragging a lifeless body around the place.

“Can’t I just fly in the morning of the wedding?” Jiyong asked over pulling his hoodie on, sunglasses on, and mask.

“Bro, you’re my best man, you’re supposed to be here for me.” Youngbae pointed over to his broken friend who in turn sighed.

“I’m sorry Bro.” Jiyong quickly apologized knowing that it wasn’t his friends fault that he was where he was.

“Let’s just have a good time this weekend, and celebrate.” Youngbae pointed out, putting a playful arm around his friends shoulder.

“You sure you don’t want to walk around or something?” Michael asked once they got situated into their hotel room. Hoku just took refuge on the edge of the bed, staring out the sliding door to the never ending ocean.

“Michael go, I’ll be fine.” She whined never turning to him as he sighed. He had also come here for work, his father had some connections in Jeju that he wanted Michael to check up on, so that’s where he was headed.

“I’ll only be a phone call away if you need anything.” Michael mentioned walking over, kissing the crown of her head before departing out the door. Once he left, she sat for a few more minutes before walking to the sliding door. Welcoming the familiar scent of salt air, she smiled at the warm breeze suddenly touching her seemingly cold skin.

“It’s like Hawaii.” She whispered to herself, walking to the ledge before looking down to the beach. Of course Eden and Youngbae had decided to have the wedding on the beach, directly below her. She sighed, slowly growing a smile at the thought of seeing two of her friends finally getting married tomorrow. Her phone in the room began ringing, pulling her out of her daydream and over to it. She looked at the caller ID before smiling and answering.

“Hello?” She answered.

“Oh you answered?!” The voice asked surprised causing her to chuckle and take a seat.

“I just checked into the hotel, it’s beautiful.” Hoku praised causing Eden to smile.

“I actually called to see if you wouldn’t mind coming over to my room?” Eden asked as Hoku looked down to her lap nervously.

“No one’s here, I just really want to see you.” Eden whined as Hoku stood up and sighed.

“What room number?” She asked causing Eden to smile widely.

“748.” Eden answered before Hoku hung up sighing. Hoku forced herself out of bed, making sure that her blouse was loose enough to hide the small bulge before she finally left the room. Walking down the many hallways and elevators felt like a scene out of some James Bond movie, she was constantly peeking around corners, and hiding her face any time someone walked past.

Finally reaching the needed door before stopping in front of it, she sighed, adjusting her top once more before pressing the doorbell. Had to be a suite when she had to ring a damn doorbell instead of knocking, typical. The door almost immediately swung open showing a smiling Eden standing there, just staring at her.

“There you are.” Eden about shouted pulling her long lost friend into the room before hugging her mercilessly.

“I’m so happy you came.” Eden mentioned before Hoku hugged her friend back smiling. After standing there for what seemed like forever, they pulled away from each other.

“I really like your new haircut.” Hoku praised gesturing to Eden’s new chop due.

“Really? Youngbae was a bit upset when I cut it.” Eden commented playing with the end of one side.

“Well come in, have a seat.” Eden ushered her into the large suite and into the living room like area.

“So what’s up?” Eden asked once they got situated in the couches.

“Nothing much, still the same.” Hoku quickly faked as Eden smiled and nodded.

“You look different or seem different.” Eden pointed out causing Hoku’s heart to thump loudly in her ears.

“I do?” Hoku asked innocently before Eden nodded.

“I don’t know what it is, but something is telling me there is something different about you.” Eden said narrowing her eyes while Hoku sat back nervously avoiding any eye contact.

“So, where’s oppa?” Hoku quickly changed the subject.

“Oh, he’s coming in today, he had some last minute things to finish.” Eden explained as Hoku nodded in understanding.

“Alright, I’m just gonna come out and ask before it eats me alive, who’s this guy you brought along?” Eden asked confidently causing Hoku to sigh.

“How’d you know?” Hoku asked over.

“Seungri called me from the airport saying that he thought he saw someone in the airport café that looked like you. So he asked if I had invited you.” Eden explained as Hoku looked into her friends eyes.

“Are you guys……..dating?” Eden asked hesitantly before Hoku nodded sheepishly.

“Omo.” Was all that could Eden could say the moment her guess was right.

“What’s his name?” Eden asked placing a fake smile on.

“Michael Wright, he’s the son of one of my father’s friends financial firms.” Hoku explained never letting her eyes look up to her. Eden was about to add something to that before she heard a knock on the door. Eden quickly looked down to her watch before her eyes shot open to Hoku.

“Who is it?” Hoku asked nervously finding herself curling up closer and closer into the couch.

“Hide in the bathroom.” Eden quickly urged as Hoku nodded and ran over to it. Eden sighed, fixing her appearance before walking over to answer the door. Pulling it open she could feel her heart drop into her and the sweat to pour down her back.

“Hi honey.” Youngbae announced leaning in and kissing her forehead before walking into the room with his luggage.

“When did you get in?” She asked nervously closing the door as he turned to her confused.

“I got in just a little while ago, why do you look like I shouldn’t be here?” Youngbae asked confused as Eden looked around the room nervously.

“What did you do?” Youngbae asked suspiciously as Eden stood there quietly. Eden was horrible when it came to lying to him, only a few seconds more and she’ll spill everything.

“Are you cheating on me?” he asked nervously not sure what was going on before she quickly looked over to him.

“No, no, no, it’s not like that.” She quickly said defending herself.

Hoku couldn’t take it any longer, she opened the bathroom door and stepped out into view, almost causing Youngbae to fall on his behind.

“She’s not cheating on your Oppa, she was hiding me.” Hoku explained as Eden sighed and nodded over to Youngbae who just stood there frozen. Hoku didn’t expect him to walk over and hug her welcoming, she didn’t expect anything, so when he just stood there, staring or glaring at her through his sunglasses, she was upset, she understood his feelings.

“Anyways, it’s getting late, I should be heading back to my room.” Hoku quickly said walking over to the door before a hand stopped hers. She froze and looked back to see that Youngbae was standing behind her.

“Oppa, I’m sorry for showing up, I knew it was a bad idea to come.” She explained with her head hung low only to be welcomed into a warm embrace.

“I’m so happy to see you.” He whispered hugging her letting the tears fall from her eyes. Youngbae was extremely happy to see someone he had wished over and over for to show up, and here she was, standing in front of him. But at the same time, he couldn’t help but suddenly feel a bit nervous about what would happen tomorrow afternoon at the wedding. Hoku and Jiyong would meet eventually. Even though he was happy to see her now, it would only be a matter of time before he gave her the same expression Seungri and the others gave her.
