36 | Broken

 

 

Yoona stayed in the room for about an hour and half, not minding what is happening outside. She was confident enough that Seohyun would be okay - now that her mother knows her girlfriend's condition. As she busied herself reading some reports on her mail coming from the headquarters, she would constantly take it down to her notepad. She keeps on doing it until she felt her eyes getting tired from reading. She spread her arms and let out a huge yawn before getting off of the bed. She wasn't planning going out but her legs just seemed move to its own. She finds herself now climbing down the stairs. And there wasn't any long enough, she peeked her head behind the door of the kitchen. Her lips slightly parted as she caught the sight of Seohyun, currently wearing an apron, and cheeks has some flour. She giggles, finding it cute. Seohyun is serious though. She hasn't seen this side of her. But damn, can she also join? They looks like they're enjoying it. Especially that it seems they're baking? Cake? 'Oh my, I can't wait to taste it.'

 

After a while of just standing there, she decided to take stolen shots. Its nice to see her girlfriend is getting along with her mother. And in vice versa, her mother is happy teaching her girlfriend. This is a good sign. They'll eventually be closer soon. No, can she say like right now? She wishes though.

 

Without their knowledge she also recorded their moments. Seohyun is like a student - following all the orders from her superior here and there. Mrs. Im on the other hand is not just teaching, she's making sure her voice is not so hard for the latter to take on it easily. Yoona is smiling proudly to the two girls in her life.

 

The used to be rebel is now like sweet girl - how did she manage to help her change like that? Must be love? Yeah, that's exactly the reason. 

 

'Continue this Boss - later - I'll give you a reward.' In her thoughts, while enjoying her view. It's so rare to see her girlfriend like this - she has to live the moment. Thanks to her mother.

 

30 minutes later - she decided to leave. They're now just talking stuffs about cooking which bores her. So she went back to her room and flopped back to the bed. But before she can even start drifting to sleep, she almost forgot about her plan. She quickly got out of the bed and headed to her desk. Opening her personal computer, she couldn't help her heart and make it beats faster upon seeing the gorgeous desktop wallpaper. She didn't hesitate and give it a flying kiss through her hand, before she opens the folder that contains the other photos. "Let's get this started." with a smirk, she started cutting Zac out of the picture.

 

In the kitchen, Seohyun and Mrs. Im are enjoying their moment together. For Seohyun, as if she had a new mother, she felt like she's her daughter. She was so kind unlike last night. She's not strict too if she will do a mistake. The woman she met last night seemed not with her anymore. Instead, a very kind and gentle woman is with her. This must be really her - which sh really like. Hopefully it will continue. And that, she can call her 'Omma' as soon.

 

Mrs. Im on the other hand had felt like Seohyun is not bad at all. She's convinced now that she's more innocent than her daughter. Everything she does though with mistakes here and there - they're so cute. Especially if she will squeal out of her mistake - then she would quietly apologize. She so wanted to squeeze her. She's like Yoona in some side too - but their innocents really differs. 

 

'Yoona, no wonder you fall for her.' In her thoughts, as she continue to watch the younger girl, putting some icing on their cake. It's not only going to be about baking as well, she's planning to teach her more dishes that she normally cook at home.

*yawning - spreading arms - smiling like an idiot* Yoona entered her dining, awed by the cake and cupcakes being presented to her. "Wow. Who made this?" she gasped - though she already knew.

 

"Seohyun, Yoong." Mrs. Im answered, smiling to the said girl briefly.

 

"Chincha?" Yoona turned to her girl with her dramatic surprise expressions. "Is that true, Boss?"

 

"Ugh, You know it's me and your mother only in this place. How could you ask me that." Seohyun rolled back her eyes in annoyance. She knows it pretty well, her girlfriend is just being dramatic.

 

Yoona giggles, pecking at Seohyun's cheeks before she returned her gazes back to the cake. It has some strawberry as the toppings. "Wow, it is well designed." Also, some icings are being formed as flowers. "This is so pretty Boss, Can I taste it now?" She exclaimed.

 

"Of course." Mrs. Im and Seohyun replied simultaneously. They chuckled at the other girl amusingly. Yoona is obviously not good at her acting.

 

But before anything else, Yoona took her phone out and took a picture of the cake. She then reached for the knife and was about to help herself when Seohyun got the knife from her. The latter did it for her instead. 

 

"I hope you like the taste, Babe." Seohyun sweetly uttered, wearing such a gorgeous smile, despite her exhausting face from making it. It's a chocolate cake She prepared for Yoona, with the help of Mrs. Im of course. However, instead of giving the piece of cake to Yoona, she grabs a fork and feeds Yoona with the cake instead. As if they just got married. Yoona can't help it and giggle after she was feed, while tasting the cake against her tongue.

 

"So what?" Seohyun nervously asked, watching Yoona being quiet.

 

After a while, Yoona never hesitated and showed a thumbs up. Then, she snatched the plate from Seohyun. "You should taste it yourself." She usered, and turned to her mother again. "You too Omma. You should also do so."

 

Smiling from ear to ear, Seohyun excitedly help herself. Mrs. Im also does the same, and both of them have the same sweet smile to one another after tasting the cake.

 

"Whoa. Omma, really did a good job on teaching her student." Yoona praised, proud both of the girls.

 

"No, Seohyun is just really brilliant. She can immediately understand what I am saying." Mrs. Im corrected her daughter.

 

"Mrs. Im, it's all thanks to you - I was able to get how to bake a cake..." Seohyun also corrected Mrs. Im, earning a sigh from the latter.

 

Pulling her girlfriend closer to her, through her shoulders, Yoona then added, "So Omma, are we good now? I mean, Us... for you?" She grinned while wiggling her eyebrows.

 

Mrs. Im dropped her smile, as she turned serious. She put her plate down and crosses her arms in front of them. "I know I can't stop you both anymore from liking each other. To be honest, this still bothers me because for the very first time, Yoonaa has a girlfriend. I thought you are coward when it comes to this, Yoona?" She raised her brows, looking into her daughter. The latter awkwardly smile, and smiled back at her girlfriend. "Yeah, for all I know you don't really show your feelings for a certain someone you like. I mean, what is happening now? Well, it's a good thing honestly. Because... You're not this girl anymore who doesn't know how to express her feelings. I like this - I'm loving this Honey." She ended it with a proud smile.

 

Yoona couldn't say a single word. She was a bit shy she's hearing it from her mother. But she can not complain nor argue. It was all the truth precisely. Where did the old Yoona girl now? She thinks it already disappears, as she now brave on admitting and expressing her feelings. 

 

"Now you are asking me if it's okay for me already? Absolutely. However, you guys shouldn't rush things. Enjoy each other's company while you guys can - araso?" Mrs. Im firmly stated. "I am now giving my blessings to the both of you. Love each other dearly, Okay?"

 

" Aww, Thanks Mrs. Im. This really mean so much to us. Especially for me." Seohyun clasped her hands together, overwhelmed. She can't help it and stepped forward, grabbing her for a warm embrace. "Thank you also for your patience on me. I really appreciated it. I don't know what to do without you helping me out. I really learned a lot today. Thank you so much. I will treasure this moment. And I can't wait for another lesson tomorrow." She gratefully smiled to her own, holding Mrs. Im like the way she also does for her girlfriend.

 

Mrs. Im gladly patted the young girl's back, a way for her response, that she is also grateful to meet the first girl Yoona introduces as her girlfriend. Yoona who stood nearby is smiling from ear to ear. She herself is thankful for her mother's visit. It really help Seohyun a lot. She hoped her mother would stay longer now, but she knows its impossible. Her father is in the province and probably waiting for her comeback.

 

"Ara, let's stop this drama and finish the cake. We can't let it melt in front of us, right?" Mrs Im chuckled softly after pulling back from the hug. Yoona and Seohyun giggles to one another.

 

 

[Hospital] 

 

 

For the last time, Jessica let out a deep breath as she also finally stopped in front of Doctor Park's office. She arrived 10:30am in the hospital - just a good time for the hospital's break time. In which, she's confident - Doctor Park is available inside. 

 

Raising her right hand, she formed it into a fist and knocks the door gradually. 

 

"Come in. The door is open."

 

Taking that as a cue, She fixed herself before she opened the door and quietly entered the room. There, she saw Doctor Park on her leather chair - signalling her to take her seat to the chair just across her desk. She bowed first as a respect to the older before taking her seat down. The middle aged woman is smiling at her, glad both of them have seen each other again. After so many years.

 

"So how was it going? The last time I've seen you, you were at your junior high - so demure and now... You look like you've grown a lot. Pretty Miss Jung, just like your mother" 

 

Jessica was shy. "T-Thanks Doctor Park. And so are you." She didn't expect the woman would be like this to her. "But, can we proceed to the topic I am sharing to you on the phone?" However, she can not stay the office for so long. She still has something to do besides this.

 

"Oh yeah, I'm sorry. Um, I think it's the right time." Doctor Park opened her drawer and brought out a small envelope. She handed it to the younger girl, saying, "It's been a long time since your mother handed this to me. She said, if one of her daughter came to ask about her relationship with the President Seo Taeji, I should give this to you. I'm sorry about this Miss Jung."

 

Jessica just casually accepted the envelope. Without any idea what is inside, she opened it and a folded paper was inside. She pulled it out inside and unfolded the paper. As expected, it's an old letter coming from her mother. 

 

Dear Jessica, Krystal;

I don't really know how to start this letter - but except for I am so sorry. Probably by now, as you girls are reading this letter, I have already left you both. I'm sad to leave - however - I am happy at the same time because I'll be leaving you guys in the care of your Uncle. And I know he will take care the both of you. I am proud mother that even for the last time, I get to see you both grow the way I wanted to be. However, despite all of this, I would like to apologize. Mother cheated on your father. Probably by now as you are reading this letter, you girls knew the secret already. But I want you girls know that I never intended to keep this to myself. I want to tell you girls at first, but knowing it would bother you both and will probably change your life and thoughts about me, I decided to keep it. Additionally, it's hard. Especially I was in love to a person who is committed to someone. I know it was forbidden, but it was indeed true - that once your heart have learned to love someone - there's no way you can stop it. There's no way it will be aware of its surroundings. That was only my mistake - I fall for someone that is not suppose to happen.

 

I hope you girls will forgive me. 

 

And also, your little sister Yoobin. Please also forgive me for keeping Yoobin also. I am suppose to tell this as well, but President Seo did not allowed me. 

 

to Jessica, my eldest, Can I ask for a favor? If you happened to meet his daughter - Joohyun. Tell her how much I regretted because of what happened. I am really so sorry for stealing her father from her mother.

 

I love you Jessica, Krystal, until this last moment of my life. Please always look forward - don't mind these pasts. Because it's not worth for your time. Live your life full of happiness. I assure you both, Omma is only here, guiding you both.

 

I will miss you girls.

Jessica could only wipe the tears that has dropped as she was reading it. Doctor Park handed her a tissue paper which she immediately took and wipe her tears. She's too speechless - yet, she still felt love. Though her mother did commit a mistake, she understands her situation. She can not blame her from keeping it. Seo's are powerful, so her mother must have think it will just mess their sisters' lives if they'll learn the truth.

 

"I'm sorry Doctor Park." She mutters, looking so weak towards the woman. 

 

"Um, I don't know what's in the letter but I'll say this too. Yoobin, she did not die with your mother inside her stomach. We took her out from her womb 2 hours before she died - As President Seo have requested."

 

"What do you mean?" Jessica sighed after wiping all her tears.

 

"President Seo have seemed to care so much for your sister - So he thought of giving your sister her own grave. You know, so he can visit his daughter Yoobin the most. That was his reasons when he ask us to do it." Doctor Park confesses.

 

"So where is her grave?" Jessica exclaimed, as she couldn't believe another revelation was revealed. She thought her mother and her sister is in the same grave.

 

"Um, L.A. He brought her to the states." Doctor Park reluctantly said.

 

"Seriously? So it's like he separated my sister from her mother." Jessica can't help it and be mad about it. She felt like President Seo is so selfish towards her mother.

 

"He is the father, You can't blame him." Heck, Doctor Park argued back.

 

"I know but... my mother has the right to be with her sister as well. She is the mother."

 

"Just ask him about her grave. We're just following orders, Miss Jung." Doctor Park defensively replied.

 

Jessica sighed heavily. "I-I'm sorry. I just can't believe he just took my sister that easily." She folded back the letter hastily and put it back to the envelope. Then, she put it on her hand bag. "Do you have any contact number of President Seo?" thus, she felt like talking to Mr. Seo as well.

 

"Y-Yeah, hold on." Hastily, Doctor Park got up and proceed to her cabinet on the side, where she got some business cards to ever person she met.

 

Jessica is on her seat, calming her nerves. She also get on her feet and approached the open window in the corner. She let out another deep breath and exhaled, as she let the fresh air calm her more. After a while, she's finally back to herself. She went back to Doctor Park, who handed her a business card of President Seo. 

 

"Thanks for your time, Doctor Park. This really mean so much to me. I apologize for my sudden outburst. I just can't hold myself. It was my half sister we're talking about here." She explained, hopeful for the Doctor's understanding.

 

"No problem. I understand you."

 

Jessica shyly smiled. She put the card on her handbag and bowed in respect to the woman. "Have a nice Day, Doctor Park." 

 

"And so are you, Miss Jung. I hope in some time, we can have some coffee at least."

 

"I'd like to." She simply said before turning on her back and casually leave the office. Just as she was outside, she opened her handbag back and picked up the card that contains Mr. Seo's number. She didn't hesitate and save it on her phone before she finally left the hospital. But it was another unfortunate for her, when she headed to her car - She also caught Yuri's car driving off the parking lot. "What did she do here?" which definitely made her wonder - she feels like the girl is also investigating? Or was she stalking her?

 

Couldn't take it, she opened her phone back and quickly contacted the tan girl. But much to her dismay, the latter did not answer her call. She cancelled it intentionally.

 

Shrugging, She headed to her car and drives off immediately. Yuri is not her priority anyway. She's more than forward to talk with Seo Taeji than to talk to an idiot like her. 

 

While she's so calm driving in the road, She suddenly heard her phone beeps. It was on time there's a traffic jam ahead. She took her phone out again after stopping the car, and checks the message.

 

Yuri:

[I don't have to answer the call when I know I was wrong from hating you instead of your mother.

But still, I can't help it. Anyway, good luck on your plan. I hope you won't hurt anyone - including my cousin.

I swear, I will not just sit around if I learned you're doing something to hurt her.

She scoffed, couldn't think of anything other than - 'Idiot' - to describe Yuri. She just tossed her phone back to her handbag and put her attention back to the road. 

 

 

 

 

[FAB - Cafe]

 

 

"There she is." Zac quickly pointed to Yuri when he caught her pulling over her car in front of the cafe. Seohyun turned her head, following his finger. 

 

Yuri entered the cafe quickly rushing to the table where Zac and Seohyun are waiting her. "I'm sorry I was a bit late." yet, she had to apologize, all aware that she's late.

 

"I thought you're proceeding straight here?" asked Seohyun, handing the tan girl a menu of the cafe's beverages. She and Zac arrived at the same, 30 minutes ago. Their call time which should be 1:30pm, it's now 2 in the afternoon. "Did you drop to somewhere?" She furrows her eyebrows towards her.
