16 | A duel

 

 

Rounded and big, that was the only thing that registered in Yoona's brain for the entire time before she was snapped back to reality through Yuri's voice.

 

"What happened?"

 

The moment Yuri arrived, she was greeted by a complete silence. And it didn't take a second and she noticed the tissue in the doe-eyed girl's nose and a band-aid on top of it. The latter looked at her with an awkward smile. She felt so weird about it. "Did my cousin punches you?" She furrows her eyebrows, as she step a closer look. But she can't see any bruise somehow. Except for the fact that the girl's nose has a tissue and she seemed pale?

 

"Is that our clothes now?" Yoona weakly questioned, pointing to the paper bag Yuri is holding.

 

"Y-Yeah. But... " Yuri contemplated to continue, as she realized Seohyun wasn't around. "Where's Seohyun?" and so she ask about her cousin rather. Yoona got up and took the paper bag from her casually.

 

"Oh, I like these... pants, shirts, dresses and pajamas. Are these yours? Or... you bought this?" Yoona feels like sneezing, but quickly hold herself, as she doesn't want the blood from her nose looses.  

 

"I... Where's my cousin?" Yuri insisted.

 

"Shower room. Where do you expect to see her?" Yoona sighed, taking the paper bag to the sofa.

 

Yuri followed, sitting next to her.

 

"What's with the tissue and the band aid? Did you guys fought? I told you don't talk to her yet." Yuri chuckles lightly.

 

"Fight? No. We are already okay... until... "Yoona literally shakes her head and sighed, upon recalling what she saw. Her innocent mind is absolutely being tamed by the girl.

 

"Until what?" Yuri curiously asked back.

 

"You wouldn't like to know."

 

"Huh?"

 

"So where's the food? I suddenly... "

 

"Yuri? Are you there already?" Seohyun's faint voice was heard inside the shower room, causing for Yoona to stop her words.

 

"Yes! I am here!" Yuri shouted back.

 

"Can you hand me the clothes?"

 

Yuri giggles. "Okay." However, she pushed the paper bag to the do-eyed, when the latter give it to her.

 

"What?" Yoona frowned. Cheeks turning to a shade of red again. "No way. She told you-"

 

"Just give it to her. I'm coming out anyway. I still have something to do. Her dinner is coming in a while, according to the chef I've bump into earlier." Yuri cut Yoona's words. She didn't wasted her time and left the room.

 

Yoona's lips parted briefly, as then, she gulps nervously. It has been an hour since she saw hers accidentally, but she still couldn't over. And perhaps, Seohyun as well. "Aish." But she can not let her stay in the shower room for more than 24 hours. It would be so disturbing if she will. Getting up, she forcibly move her feet, until she stopped in front of the shower room. Heart is beating fast, knees are shaking, her hand is trembling as well, as she raised it and knock on the door twice. It was so weak, which she didn't think twice to knock twice again, a bit loud now.

 

Calm down, calm down Yoona. It's Okay. You did not see it coming. It was only an accident. Everything is so fine. Aigoo...

 

Foot steps was heard right after. She brace herself, while holding the paper. The door opens gently, there was Seohyun again, looking still so fresh. But she noticed, her widening eyes. She did not expect her to see her outside the shower room - obviously.

 

"H-Here. B-Boss." Gladly, she was able to hand it, but without missing to looked at Seohyun's covered chest. Her heartbeats just seemingly skyrocketed, recalling what she saw again. 'Damn'. Which made her curse inside her mind. She quickly turned to gaze on her, smiling awkwardly.

 

Seohyun simply snatched it from her and slams the door to her face. Feeling like she needed a support, she just  rushes to the bed and lied there, calming all her muscles again. Especially her pounding heart. It's making her like a sick girl now. How could Seohyun shows her to her? 'I hate her. I hate her. I hate her. I hate my boooosssss.' She keeps on tossing around, trying so hard to erase the image in her freaking mind. The last time, the kiss, now, her two angels (?)

 

Meanwhile, Seohyun inside the shower had put on her pajama already. After that one hour of thinking over what happened, she's finally back to herself. And She's determined ignore her embarrassment. She's indeed teasing her but she has never thought of being a . She's just confident over her pretty body, no more than that.

 

"Let's see this, then." Taking a deep breath she smiled all confident again.

 

Walking out the room, she caught the sight of Yoona, lying on the bed, staring blankly to the ceiling. She snickers quietly as she approach the bed, arms are cross and chin is up.

 

"You, are you gone crazy?"

 

"Gone crazy over two angels." Yoona unconsciously replied.

 

"What?" Seohyun's forehead knitted.

 

Yoona turned her head to the right, She shot up instantly. "What are you doing there?"

 

"This is my room too. Of course I would be here! What Angels?" Seohyun confusedly ask again. "Did you just went to heaven and saw Angels?"

 

Yoona's cheeks profusely blushes. She so wanted to tell the reason but that would be embarrassing. So ignoring it is the best she can do. "Hehe, nothing. I just suddenly thought, of something. And oh, I'd like to clarify, The score standing now is 9:11. I gained two points." she wiggles her eyebrows playfully.

 

Knowing well what Yoona is talking about, Seohyun just shut , but eyes are intensely gazing into the girl who made her so embarrass. She couldn't complain - unfortunately.

 

"Peace." Yoona cutely showed two peace signs and hastily jumps off the bed. She blow an air to Seohyun's ear before grabbing the paper bag on the sofa and left to the shower room.

 

Blushing, Seohyun defiantly sat at the edge of the bed with a bounce. She looked down to her chest and pouted cutely. "That Yoonggator is sure a ert one. She's so lucky to be the only person to have seen you for the first time. Ugh!!!" she ends up groaning, as she falls back to the bed. It's her turn to toss around the bed.

 

Out of a sudden, a door bell was heard. Seohyun stops from moving, upon hearing it.

 

"Dinner is here."

 

Her face turns so bright. She did not waste a single second and rushes to the door.

 

"Wow." Her eyes sparkled in interest when she realized most of the dishes are her favorites.

 

"Miss Seo, right?" 

 

"Yes. Um, come in." Without hesitations, she made a way for the food. The boy smiled, and pushed the food cart in. Seohyun did not bother closing the door, as she excitedly follows the latter, bringing it to the table that was near the balcony. She pulled a chair and was like an idiot, watching the staff of the resort, putting every plate of food on top of the table. There was also a champagne, which made her really excited to finish every food. And for the dessert, there's a fruit salad. "Whoa~ I'm sure going to sleep so happily tonight." moaned her happily, clasping her two hands in the process.

 

Shortly, the boy bowed to her before leaving the room, not missing closing the door for her. Silently, she started to fill her hungry stomach - not even caring of calling out Yoona.

 

15 or less minutes later, Yoona walks out the room, feeling so good. Well, she did not expect the shower room is so big with its bathtub and Jacuzzi room. She couldn't miss the chance and uses the Jacuzzi instead of the normal one.

 

As she approached her boss, who was apparently eating while back facing her, she realized she's enjoying her food while listening to calm song through her laptop on the side. It's a song that she definitely knew. 

 

"Jason's I'm Yours?" greeted her with a question, taking her seat across the girl.

 

Seohyun looked up from her food to face the doe-eyed. Yet, she only shrugs, looking back to her pasta. 

 

"You did enjoy all the food, Huh?" Yoona also noticed 3 empty plates. Which means, she finished them so far. Whilst, there are two remaining plates. One is dukbokki, the other is a roosted chicken. 

 

"The two remaining food are yours." says Seohyun softly, without looking to the girl's eyes.

 

Yoona blinks for a couple of times. Quiet didn't expect to hear it from the younger girl. "Come again?"

 

"I said, that's for you." 

 

"Oh, T-Thank You." Yoona smiled. She didn't think twice and reached for her own utensils and chopsticks on the side. This is going to be her 2nd dinner - which is really lucky for her. She was about to start when she suddenly noticed her boss' ears are so red. She raised her brow, wondering what's making her blush? or what? "Hey, are you okay?" 

 

Seohyun looked up, all so red, yet, her tongue is stuck out, and she's fanning it. "Spicy! I-I... ACCIDENTALLY EAT THE CHIIIILLI!!!" She frantically rushes to the bathroom. Yoona chuckles, amusingly. She just casually started to eat, yet, couldn't help it and giggle when she heard her scream. She must have eaten a big chili? Or did she ate a lot? 

 

"AHHHH!!! !!!"

 

And more cursing words she can hear from the latter. It didn't help her to concentrate on her food. She eventually burst into laughter, which almost choke her. Heck, she quickly reached for the champagne bottle and pour herself to an empty champagne glass. She finished it one go -- with a sigh afterwards. Just on time, Seohyun went back with her obvious weak face.

 

"Are you Okay now?" ask Yoona, somehow concerned. Especially that her cheeks were seems still red.

 

Seohyun heaved a sigh, before taking her seat and nodded her head instead. Yoona reached for a table napkin and wipe the water in the girl's jaw. 

 

"Thanks."

 

"No Problem." Yoona smiled back, though the girl quickly got the table napkin and wipe the remaining wet spot on her jaw.

 

"Why did you ate the chili though?"

 

"I didn't see it. I was focusing on the meat of the pasta." Seohyun weakly answers, putting back the napkin down.

 

"You hate chili?"

 

Seohyun nodded with a sad pout. "I can eat a spicy food, but the chili itself, I don't."

 

"Cute." Yoona mutters softly, as she smiled from ear to ear. Suddenly hearing her phone ringing, Yoona almost immediately turned her head to the bed, where the ringing sound is currently recognized. She turned to her boss, she find herself staring back to Seohyun's widening eyes. And both of them has a shade of red on their cheeks, reminded by what happened. Because of the freaking call, it happened.

 

It took 10 seconds before they turned away from each other. Yoona shot up and rushes to the bed, picking up her phone in the process. She frowned when she found out it's Jessica. Looking back to Seohyun, the girl seems not caring about the call. She's finishing her pasta rather than to care of it. Shrugging, she answered such call.

 

"Director Jung." She hesitantly greeted.

 

[Oh, Thank God you're still awake. Um, Can I invite you?]

 

"Yes? Uh... " Yoona pauses, as she turned to Seohyun again. Still, the latter is not bothering. "What for? I mean... what kind of an invitation?"

 

[I just found out that there's a karaoke in the resort as well. Why don't we have fun tonight before going to sleep?]

 

Looking down to her pajama, Yoona sighed. "B-But... I'm on my pajama already."

 

[Oh? That's a bad timing.]

 

"Y-Yeah, I'm sorry. Um, maybe tomorrow morning. We can do it before I and my Boss leave the resort."

 

[Omo. So you're leaving already? I thought you are going to see the race tomorrow?]

 

"I... I almost forgot. It's only the contract we are here. And apparently, Boss have already convinced her Aunt." Yoona stated, though she's not sure. She glances to Seohyun, the girl looked back at her. She's staring blankly.

 

[I see. Um, Looking forward tomorrow then. But no, we can't do the karaoke. Let's just visit their horses then. Is that okay for you?]

 

"That's actually a good idea."

 

[Okay. See you tomorrow.]

 

"You too." Yoona ended the call with a small smile.

 

"Did I heard it right?"

 

"What?" Yoona approached back their table. Consequently, taking her seat across her boss. 

 

"That you don't know yet - I am going to join the event tomorrow." Seohyun inquired, confidently.

 

"The racing?" Yoona gasped. 

 

Seohyun giggles at the doe-eyed's reaction. "What else?"

 

"B-But... I-I thought... " Yoona barely could form a word in her mind. And before she could think of one, Seohyun beats her.

 

"My cousin, Yuri. She was persistent. I couldn't decline her. And for your information, this is for the contract and the songs she made. She's not going to share it if I'll not join. And I thought, it's actually a good opportunity to also enjoy. I think we forgot, I am on leave for three days before going back to the office."

 

"Y-Yeah... I thought of that as well. So you're really joining?"

 

Seohyun smiled. "Why not? I'm good at it." She's really confident that one month to know how to ride a horse will make her win.

 

"Cool. Nicole will also be there."

 

"I know."

 

"You do?"

 

"My cousin told me."

 

"No wonder."

 

"Which means, I am going to compete against 20 participants. Isn't that exciting?"

 

Yoona just smiled, couldn't seem to agree with the word 'exciting'. For her, it's another fight between Seohyun and Nicole. Sigh.

 

"Will you cheer for me?" ask Seohyun hesitantly. She wasn't sure if Yoona likes it with her simple reaction. 

 

"Of... Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

 

"Chincha? Can I hear it?" Seohyun got brightens with Yoona's confirmation.

 

"Hear?"

 

"I mean, how will you cheer for me." She rephrased.

 

"Oh. Hold on. Hmm... " Yoona trailed off, as she thinks it over for a couple of minutes - putting her finger under her jaw in the process.
