Yoona's POV

8 hours before the eclipse

 

A total lunar eclipse will be happening at 8 pm and South Korea will witness that whole experience... 

 

The news has finally come out in the human world. I can see how excited are they especially that it is rare for a country to experience such a phenom. I feel anxious knowing none of them knows what's about to come. It's like an earthquake that will strike them in 8 hours. However, I and the shadow hunters are in full force to stop whatever demons will take advantage of this country. I just hope, no casualties, or I might not able to forgive myself. I need to make sure to win this battle.

 

"What weapon are you getting later?"

 

My trance was shifted to the familiar voice behind me, and I turn to face Yuri and put the iced down on the table. "I don't think I can tell. None of us actually can tell what are we getting when the Nephilim souls will choose it for us. But I heard it depends on our ability."

 

Yuri sighs and she took her seat across me. I can see she's anxious as me.

 

"I can only do the same as those normal Nephilims but I have recently discovered that I can be smarter." Yuri joke and laugh at it.

 

"You are right with that, it's only going to be a failure if you don't think smartly. Being good at fighting skills isn't enough. But Yuri-ah, teamwork can also win this war. So I will count on you." I told her and she smiled, nodding her head in the process. I am glad I have her by my side despite our age difference. "So are you still going to see Jessica later? You know before the eclipse?" 

 

Yuri widened her eyes. I think she forgot about it. "Oh yeah... Aish, thanks for telling me. I should call her." She said and leaves me that instant. 

 

We've been training hard non-stop, I understand her. But she also deserves to take a break. Especially that what's ahead of us is uncertain. Taking my iced coffee back, I had a few gulps of it when I heard a thud from nearby and I tilt my head to see a Nephilim is on the ground, in pain, and Seohyun is standing in front of her with her arms crossed, telling her some few tips on how to avoid an attack. It's only just 8 hours left yet she's still doing that to every Nephilim in the camp.

 

I smiled, watching the scene, though. Unlike the first time she trained with them, she can now control her strength well on her own. Taeyeon was right about it's only her that can discover how to control her own strength.

 

I couldn't help and actually admire Seohyun's resiliency. And it makes me fall for her harder.

 

'That smile in your face, rub it off.' I heard her voice that immediately dropped it. 

 

She tilts her head towards me and smiles seductively. 

 

'How about you stop reading my mind?' I play with her as I drink my coffee again with a smirk on my lips. She just ignored me and returned to the training.

 

"Yoona, aren't you resting too long?" Taeyeon immediately shifted my attention towards her and I sheepishly smiled.

 

"Later, I'll join you again." I told her and got up from my seat.

 

"You have a few hours left. Get it together." Taeyeon sounded mad and I feel bad right away.

 

"Aish, Araso, Araso." I said and walks off, going back to the team where I was assigned to have final preparation. Actually, my team had been prepared. That's why I give them a break. And now that I am back in front of them. I think we need to finish this, especially that some have yet to get the plan I have for them.

 

"Let's start this again." I announced and they immediately move, spreading around the forest as fast as they can. I told them about how the ninja moves. And I'm going to be the one catching them. 

 

Taking a deep breath and slowly relaxing, my eyes turned blue and I started my chase. In just a minute I took ten down and in just three minutes, twenty were down on the ground, in pain. Ten minutes later, twenty Nephilims surrender on the ground, and twenty minutes that passed, 40 of them are hanging in every branch, couldn't move.

 

"Remember, the Vampires are as fast we are, we have to make sure we are faster." I told them as they assemble in front of me again. "Our goal is to bring them to the shadow world first with every crystal ball you have there. So we really need to be faster, otherwise, we're going to fail. Am I clear?"

 

"Yes!" Everyone chorused.

 

"Now get a partner and do as what I have been doing earlier. You guys have two hours for that and let's meet at the camp." I announced and everyone hastily got their partner. I returned to the camp with nothing but dirty on my arms, legs, shirt, and pants.

Seohyun's POV

6 hours until Eclipse    

After a total of four hours of last training since the sunrise, I was finally satisfied with everyone's ability to dodge my every move. If Yoona is giving her team the ability to be faster in her team, I am in charge of their ability to dodge every attack thrown at them and attack faster than they should be. It's just the same scenario but it's important.

 

Dismissing my team, I look for a place to have a rest when I landed my eyes on Johny, wearing that devilish smile again.

 

He doesn't learn his lesson, does he?

 

I just ignored him and walk to my right as I look for a good place to stay but I was just in my five steps when he appeared in front of me.

 

"What do you want?" I bluntly asked as I nonchalantly stare at him.

 

He approached me and got my neck which I just raise my eyebrows. I don't even feel breathless as he tried to choke me.

 

"If I were you, I will stop this nonsense." I told him and I saw his punch coming which I expertly avoided by bending my head to my right.

 

"You're a monster." He said with his husky voice.

 

I rolled my eyes and took his hand off of me. "If I am a monster I have killed you the other day." 

 

He scoffs and tried to attack me again but I've seen that coming as I dodge it and attack him with a good punch on his face, sending him off a couple of steps away from me. 

 

He's such a freak. Annoying. .

 

I didn't hesitate and resumed on my tracks but only to stop and grabbed his neck when he moves towards me. "Listen, if you keep this up, I might end up killing you right now. Because your attitude right now doesn't need in this camp. You're just going to fail us." I told him and lifted him with one hand.

 

He tried to struggle but he couldn't move me at all. His breath got uneven and before I could completely lose control, I hastily throw him on the side and I immediately bowed in front of Director Im. He just saw us from nearby and now he's standing close. "My apologies, Director Im." I bowed in front of him.

 

I heard him sigh and just walk past me. He pulled Johny up and drags him with him. 

 

I guess he figured Johny isn't as others. He is surely a pain in the .

 

Sighs.

 

Going back to where I have left, I finally found a peaceful spot and lay down on the ground. I don't really get tired but I need peace of mind.

 

Pretending to sleep like a human isn't bad at all.

 

Just as I thought I will have peace in mind, I heard footsteps and smell an unfamiliar Nephilim. I flutter my eyes open and was greeted by a female Nephilim in her thirties, wearing that blonde hair. 

 

I know her. Ms. Kim Minhyun. 

 

"Can I talk to you?" 

 

I rose from my laying position and nodded. "What is it?" I ask her softly. She's one of the senior Nephilim that I have no problem with at all.

 

"I know it's going to be a blood bath later and I have no idea if I'm going to make it. Um..." She took something from her pocket and handed it to me.

 

It's a picture of a kid. Her son?

 

"Who is this?" 

 

"My son. A five-year-old son of mine doesn't have any idea what's going on. He's living with my mother in law and they're humans. If I don't make it, can you give this to him?" She took a necklace from her pocket and I'm slightly saddened to see her photo inside the locket.

 

"No." But I refused to accept it as I pushed it back to her. "I believe you're going to make it. So please keep it. No not only you but the entire Nephilim will make it, I promise."
