27| Danger

 

Sweating and catching their breath, Yoona and Nicole are happy at the same time despite their problem in front of them - a big bomb, so alive - with 5 minutes left on time. The found the bomb on the house's attic. If they didn't check every corner of the house, they wouldn't be in the place.

 

"Can we defuse this in 5 minutes?" Nicole asked, a bit hopeless. She herself so wanted to go out too. But she can't just let the house exploded, and affecting the other house. "We are not experts in bombs, Yoona." She added, anxiously.

 

"I know." Yoona answered, almost audible. She sighed and wiped her sweats before crawling to the bomb. Her heartbeats are uneven. "But we can try Nicole. We can try. Why don't you ask the bomb experts in the headquarters like right now? We have no more time!" She angrily shouted her last few words, taken Nicole aback. Thus, her partner quickly opened her phone and tried to contact anyone in the headquarters that can help them. But for an unknown reasons, no one will answer their call.

 

"No one is answering. It will only ring." Nicole says, got even nervous now as she can see the minutes left is now down to 3. 

 

Taking a deep breath, Yoona concentrated, as she looked at the wires while her hand is holding the cutter shakily. There are three colors of wires she can see - green, yellow and red. There's only one of it that can make the bomb stop from exploding. The others are just fake. She knows about it.

 

"I'll try to  call them again." Getting up, Nicole tries to call their friends in SSA again. Unknown to her, all the calls that she is taking will only direct to In Guk's computer. The boy is seriously tracing all her calls she's going to take.

 

Taking her jacket off, Yoona once again concentrated. She checks the time, then to the wires next to it. She also checked where are the wires connected. Unfortunately, she couldn't figure which one is real. As all of them are seemed to be connected in the bomb. All of them are somehow connected to the time.

 

"Damn it. Damn it. Damn it." She keeps on cursing verbally, and the others are on her mind. 

 

The hot atmosphere in the attic is causing her so much pressure. She only have 2 minutes left now. "Here goes nothing." She decided to slowly put the cutter on top of the green wire. However, she stopped. As doubts once again engulfed her. Taking a glance to the time, she swiftly went back to the wires. She did it for the next couple of seconds until there's only one minute left.

 

Yoona is already getting so sticky with all the sweats dropping her forehead, whilst her heart is beating so fast nervously. Thinking of her girl in L.A. and how will her life be in danger if she can't stop this, her determination went back. Yoona then went back to the bomb.

 

'Red, Yellow, Or Green? W-Wait? Aren't these traffic lights?' Heck, she realized something. 'Green is for Go, meaning, it will only continue. Yellow, it will slow down. The minutes will slow down. Wait, so if I will cut the red one, it will stop?' Looking back to the seconds left (40), Yoona can't think further. She needed to cut it, or else, they're dead. The neighbor will also be hurt. Closing her eyes momentarily, Yoona can feel much her heartbeats, and at the same time, she can see the image of a happy Seotiger. Her heart ached, as she thought of failing her if ever. That boosted her confidence. Opening her eyes again, she fiercely looked at the red one, next to the green wire. She holds her cutter firmly and brace herself, slowly but surely cutting the red wire. At the same time, her eyes are on the number of seconds left.

 

"30... 20... 19... 18... " She cut it successfully. She waited, and waited. 

 

Nicole went back to the bomb, failed to contact any of their friends in the headquarter. However, she frowned to see the red wire was already cut. However, the seconds slowed down. "Why the seconds are so slow?" It's only like 10 seconds late.

 

"Damn, so it's... it's on the other way around?" Yoona gasped as she carelessly just cut the yellow wire. She and Nicole is quiet, as they fixed their eyes to the countdown.

 

When it stopped at 5 seconds left, then the screen suddenly flashed a text; Great Job! Officer Im :D

 

Yoona's heart stop for a five good seconds as well, before she literally slumped on the floor, couldn't help herself and let her tears dropping. Nicole, she is chuckling, but with tears flowing as well.

 

"Good job Yoona. I knew you can do that." says Nicole, giving her partner and gentle kick. The girl smiled at her, quiet emotional but obviously happy with the bomb being defused.

 

A couple of minutes later, after their long silence, both instinctively got out the house, bringing the bomb as an evidence to In Guk's doings. 

 

"He's in a hotel again." says Nicole to Yoona, who is driving the car, while she's tracing In Guk again. 

 

Gripping on the steering wheel, while fiercely fixing her eyes to the road, Yoona uttered, "This time, I'm not letting you go, In Guk-ah. You started a game, I'll finish it for you."

 

Nicole is speechless, watching Yoona's eyes even in the side profile - she can see fire. The girl is really not going to stop this night without capturing that bastard. She can understand somehow.  

 

Meanwhile, in the hotel, In Guk's mistake is that... He doesn't know Nicole and Yoona is still tracing him. He did not junk his car and still used it. However, he really knows his bomb stopped from exploding. And that, Yoona and her partner successfully escaped the house. That is making him scream angrily to his men. Throwing all the things in the room out of anger. His men just keeps on avoiding with all the things being thrown to them. 

 

"Im Yoona. Im Yoona - you're getting this on me. You can't see my cousin anymore... I'll make sure of it." Says In Guk, breathlessly, while staring outside. There's only two hours he's going to stay in the hotel, before going to the Airport.

 

 

 

 

 

Upon receiving a text message from Nicole, Jessica finally shot up from her seat and gather the agents. She told them about their plans and then left to the Airport. Though she really hate this mission because it involves a Seo, Jessica can't be just too selfish. It's her job to prevent someone who is black listed to the country, from leaving the country. She threw all the personal matters and treat this mission as a job. She's not bad enough to allow In Guk to go out and do her plan.

 

"Take care. Don't hurt innocent people inside the Hotel. Do it clean." She says, to Nicole on the phone.

 

[No problem. I have Yoona. I'm sure, she's also careful like me.]

 

"I know about Yoona, I'm talking about you, Nicole." Jessica corrected, didn't know she can play a joke with her cousin at this situation.

 

[Oh, I thought... well, I promise. I will be careful too. You also have to be careful, if In Guk can ran away from us.]

 

"I have my back-ups. No worries." She glanced at the agents behind her, she's certain, she won't be hurt if something happened in the airport. "No one can hurt me. Wait, I'm skillful too. You don't have to doubt me. Aigoo... Um, Can I talk to Yoona?"

 

[She's not available. She's changing at the backseat.]

 

"Okay. Take care of her also." Jessica once again reminded, too concerned over Yoona.

 

[How many times will you tell me that?! Aish! Work NOW! Your Bae is doing fine here. HAHAHAH]

 

Ending the call, Jessica literally cursed inside her mind before ruffling her hair. Her cheeks are heating up with that 'bae', Nicole mentioned. 

 

"Director, Are you OKay?" 

 

"I'm OKay. Don't mind me and just drive." Jessica shrugs, looking outside right away. 'If I can see just a scratch in Yoona's body. You're so dead, Nicole. You're so dead'. Yes, that hope of being Yoona's girlfriend is still there - so there's always a reason for her to get worry over a deer. She must be pathetic to some people, but it's her. No one can stop her. Even those Seo.

 

Suddenly, her phone rings. She annoyingly looked at it again - but only to frown. Seohyun is calling her. If Yoona did not give the girl's number to her also, she would think that it's a stranger's number.

 

"From all the time - why is she calling me instead of Yoona?" She wondered why she's calling. And she thought, Seohyun also got her number from Yoona. Thus, she decided to end it and attempted to ignore. Heck, Her contact ID once again flash in the screen. Sighing, She defiantly answered the call. "What is it?" she answers in a monotone.

 

[Why did you end the call?]

 

"I did not see it's you. Why are you calling though?" She rolled her eyes annoyingly.

 

[I wanna know if MY Yoonggator is with you. She's not answering Donghae's call. So I suppose you're keeping her phone so she can't answer and talk to me.]

 

Jessica chuckles at the words she heard. "Are you kidding me? Why would she and I together at this time of the night?"

 

[Liar! Tell me the truth. Let me hear Yoonggator's voice]

 

"Aigoo, You're so funny Seo Joohyun. She's not really with me." Jessica is totally amuse. That voice of a jealous girl - was sure so adorable.

 

[I am serious!!! Put my Yoonggator on the phone! Don't you dare hide her from me!!!]

 

Jessica has to put away her phone from her right ear - otherwise, she'll be deaf. Heck, she replied right away. "Okay, let's tell that she's here with me, . What would you do?" she snickers at the end.

 

There was a couple of second of silence before Seohyun's reply came as [I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!!! DON'T YOU DARE STEAL HER - SHE'S MINEEEE YOONGGATOR IS MINE ONLY] her voice sounded like she wanted a cat fight with her rival.

 

"Yah! You don't have a permission to call her she's yours! I also like Yoona! And I know she will choose me. NOT A TIGER LIKE YOU!!!" Jessica also shouted, eager to make a fight with the other girl on the line as well. The thought Yoona and Seohyun together just boiled her to anger.

 

[Oh, HuH? Let's see. You will lose. Yoonggator will choose me. I know my Baby likes me back, not you .]

 

Jessica gritted her teeth and says, "Think of what you believe and I will think of mine. But I'm pretty sure you will go home broken." and with that, she ended the call, frustratingly wailing in the process. Her mood for the mission has literally dropped after that call.

 

Thus, her mood went back - when she receives a message from Nicole again. Telling her that they're on the move. 

 

She feels like skinning Seohyun alive though. Because the she's too clueless with Yoona's mission. 

 

 

 

[Hotel]

 

 

"His name is Park Sean." Yoona seriously informed the guy on the information desk. It's the name that In Guk used on his fake travel documents.

 

"But Ma'am, even if you tell me our guest's name, I can't still tell you which room is he currently staying." However, the guy declined.

 

"Um... " Yoona paused as she briefly turned her head to Nicole. The girl is sitting on the sofa, waiting for her signal. "If I will..  " she opened her purse from her pocket and showed her ID to the guy. "...Will you give me his room number?" She smiled, friendly.

 

The guy was surprised as soon as he find out the girl standing in front of him is not an ordinary person. "M-May I know who is this person, M-Mam?" He literally stammered, as he felt frightened as well.

 

"He is Seo In Guk. He escaped recently from Jail. He is planning to leave the country so he can hurt someone in the states.  He can do this to anyone else as well if he can do what he wants. If you're not going to tell me, I could force you. Or, I could open every rooms in this Hotel." Yoona warned. Eyes are like an eagle.

 

Hesitantly, The guy opened the database of the Hotel's check in lists. He keeps on glancing to the doe-eyed, as he searched the name. 

 

As soon as he got the room, he reached for a duplicate key just hanging in the desk and handed it to Yoona immediately. "10th floor. Room number 105. I hope you capture him without involving innocent guests."

 

"Don't worry. Thanks for this." Yoona smiled so big, giving the information guy a pat on the head before she signaled Nicole to come with her to the elevator.

 

"You have the key?" Asked Nicole as soon as she realized Yoona is holding some key on her hand.

 

"My charm is so good. He can't resist giving the key as well. Hehe." Yoona answered cheekily. She handed the key to Nicole and checks on her gun for the 2nd time. She put it back inside her jacket and returned to Nicole again. "Was it Director Jung? Earlier?" 

 

Nicole handed the key back to her partner. "Yes. And she's too concern. Guess? She just want to end this so it won't bother her - that a Seo is the reason of all these."

 

"I know what you mean. But I thought, she's just doing her job. And this is OUR job. Hmm?" Yoona smiled, confidently.

 

"Well, you have the right to say those words. Tch, Let's just end this." Nicole chuckles afterwards.

 

"What's so funny?" Yoona also chuckled, but was wondering.

 

"You. After this, you should treat me for dinner. I missed your cooking."

 

"Heh. You just want to eat and eat." Yoona stated, glancing over the floor numbers that was before their eyes. 

 

Nicole was about to say something when The elevator suddenly came to a stop at 6th floor. Their attention swiftly turned to the door, as it opens.

 

A guy wearing a hoodie, not so tall just in the same height with Yoona walks into the lift, and press the sams floor with them.

 

Yoona and Nicole exchanged gaze, feeling something familiar with the guy. As they both turned to looked at the guy, they caught him stared at them and immediately looks away.

 

Yoona's instinct strikes - she swiftly grabs the guy on his neck and pressed him against the metal door. A groan was heard from him, as he struggled from Yoona's grip - both on neck and for holding his arms twisted behind. The other girl on the other hand is pointing a gun on his forehead.

 

"Who are you? Are you with Seo In Guk?" Came Yoona's husky voice.

 

"What the hell is that? I don't know what you are talking about! Let go of me!!!"

 

Yoona ignored all the scream and pain of the guy, as she pressed his face more to the door and tighten her arm around his neck.

 

"Tell me what his other plans?" Asks Nicole this time.

 

"I seriously-"

 

Undoubtedly, Yoona punched the guy's head earning more of his shout of pain. She also him, that was the time He gives up.

 

"Fine! Fine! He is my Boss!! And he is planning to go to L.A. and kidnap his cousin. But I don't know what's his other plans. I only know that thing."

 

"How did He knew I am an Agent?"  Questioned Yoona so fiercely. 

 

Catching on his breath, The guy answered, "He investigated. He ask someone to do it. And... Oh... He is also planning to kill you." He added, struggling again. Thus, only to feel another punch. This time, it came from Nicole. On his abdomen. He grunted in pain and loses his strength in his knees, which made him dropped on his knees. 

 

"Tell me more of his plans if you don't want to feel the pain again." Nicole sternly says.

 

"He's... He's planning to use Seohyun as bait for their Grand Parents. I just knew their grandparents was the reason why he can't even get a penny to the money. He wants go have a position in the Seo Group of Companies - I guess."

 

"So greedy." Uttered Yoona, pulling the guy up and hold him back again on his hands, at his back. "I am going to use you also. So stand still." She commanded, firmly.

 

The unknown guy, was determined to comply. So he did not move, nor did he wanted to struggle now. The pain he got in his head and his abdomen are hard to endure. He doesn't want to feel it again. 

 

Shortly, the elevator arrives at their floor. Yoona quickly pushed the guy forward and asked him to continue walking. Nicole is next to them, keeping her eyes alerted. Until they reach the room, Yoona let go of the guy and stepped aside. She pulled out her gun and, "You ring the door bell." ask the guy to do it for them.

 

Sighing, frightening, the guy stepped forward and pressed the door bell.
