02 | Their Story pt. 2

Hurriedly, Seohyun rushed back to her bed and took her phone, dialing her father's number right instantly. She went back to the balcony and looked down to the older girl. "Come on, pick up, pick up, pick up the phone, Appa." she keeps on mumbling, hoping her father will answer, although he might be busy. 

 

"Ugh, why isn't he picking up." She groaned when it only diverts to her mother's number. Again, she contacted him. A few minutes to wait, she finally heard the next line being picked up. "Appa! Why didn't you tell me this girl is a nephilim? How can I touch this girl?" she greeted him hastily with her concern.

 

[Im Yoon Ah and her family are indeed nephilims. I did not tell you because it might just disappoint you or you wouldn't accept our offer about living alone with her. She's no harm, don't worry.]

 

"B-But how can I transfer her to her room? A vampire is freaking forbidden to touch any nephilim while they're sleeping! Only a nephilim or a pure human can do this!" Seohyun pretty knows it.

 

[Just let her - Wait, where is she?]

 

"She's in my balcony. I did not know until I sense someone is outside. So? Any solution about this?!"

 

[Why are you going to transfer her when a nephilim can survive even the coldest. They're like us too.]

 

Looking down to the oblivious doe-eyed girl, Seohyun raised her brows. "But she's... She's hugging her knees."

 

[She's a human so she can still feel cold. But that's not for your concern. Like I told you, she can survive even the coldest. Leave a nephilim alone if you don't want to be burnt.]

 

Sighing, Seohyun was convinced. "Okay. I'll just leave her here."

 

[Aigoo, my daughter is concern with a stranger for the first time.]

 

"I'm not. I'm just being a good vampire. I'm hanging up now." With that said, Seohyun stands up and walked back to her bedroom. But just as she put her knee on the edge of the bed, she turned her head outside. The nephilim is still sleeping with her arms hugging her knees, not even moving an inch of her body. Sighing in defeat, she decided to grab her blanket and walks back outside. She put it on her knees in a careful way before she returned back to her bed, playing the piano again like she has never done for the girl outside. The blanket has no use though, since she doesn't sleep.

Yoona made her way downstairs while yawning so big. She woke up still in the balcony of her new roommate but the girl can no longer be seen in her room, so she thought she wakes up early than her.

 

"Seohyun-ah!" Called her so loud while making her way to the kitchen. But the younger girl is still nowhere to be found. "Did she went for a jog?" She mumbles while she opened her refrigerator and grabs her fresh milk. Without using any glass, she just drinks it for a couple of gulps. "Or did she comes back to the palace?" She said after having her milk. "Omo, she runs away? Aish! Why so stubborn!"

 

Putting the milk down to the table, she the stove and put the pan. Then she went back to her ref, picking up two eggs and two hams. Since her new roommate doesn't eat, the foods are all by herself. 

 

"I should set some rules in this dorm so I wouldn't be thinking about her like this. Aigoo, the life of being a nanny." Yoona continued talking to herself while she fried her breakfast diligently.

 

After a while, she heard the door is unlocking. Her head eventually lifted up and there she meets her gazes. "Ha-Hi. You went for a jog?" And she does noticed She's in her jogging pants and hoodie shirt.

 

Seohyun simply nodded and headed upstairs, calmly.

 

"You should come down here for breakfast." Yoona said loud enough. She expected to hear nothing but she heard her thoughts rather.

 

'Her pajamas are horrible.'

 

She looked at her own pajamas and snickers at it. Of course, who would like to wear a minion pajamas? She thinks only her. "Aigoo, even my pajamas, she noticed it."

Yoona bowed upon seeing the Director of the palace, who just came out from the car. She was quite surprised to him back.

 

"We're here to pickup the Lady to drive her to her school." Siwon explained before she can ask them.

 

"She's coming down now." Yoona replied. "Are you guys going to fetch her everyday?" She thought she can ask the younger girl to ride with her with her scooter. But it seems that won't happen.

 

"Only for today, since it's her first day in school." Siwon smiled to the young girl. "By the way, are you the same age as hers?"

 

"No. I'm older."

 

"Oh, so you guys doesn't have the same schedule. Speaking of that, do you know about it already?"

 

Yoona shook her head a little. "She hasn't shared anything to me. Well, except for, we had shared breakfast and dinner last night."

 

"I knew it. Hold on, I'll share it to you." Siwon hastily went back to the car.

 

Yoona turned her head behind upon hearing fast steps. It's Seohyun, running towards her, wearing rounded specs. She didn't know she wears it not until now.

 

"The palace will drive you to our school today, So I don't think I can ask you to ride in my scooter." Yoona explained the moment the girl stood right next to her.

 

"O-Okay." Seohyun just said and put on a small smile in her face before she complied, stepping inside the car, as the driver have opened the backseat for her.

 

Siwon went back to Yoona and handed the school's envelope, containing the schedule. "Here. I'm sure you know now what to do during her break time." He said simply and takes the passenger seat right away.

 

Yoona put the envelope right away inside her backpack and hastily locked her helmet under her jaw before she hop into her scooter. As the car have drives off, she immediately follows close behind.

 

"How was the first night in your new home, Miss Seo?" Siwon asked softly while staring at the rare view mirror.

 

"It's good. I'm just still shy with her." Came Seohyun's soft response while she looks at the side mirror, where she can see her new roommate, following close.

 

"Oh, Don't be. She seems a good person."

 

"She's so talkative... But I liked it." Seohyun can't help but smile. It's the first time that someone who has almost the same age as her is looking after her, unlike the previous nannies. Despite her real identity, she finds her okay.

 

"That's good to hear. It will be your chance to have friends except us in the palace."

 

"I hope so." Seohyun sighed and divert her gazes to the road.

'Wo..wow.' Yoona is speechless. She did not expect that the entire school will actually welcomes the daughter of the president. She's like a princess for their eyes, especially from students.

 

'They should have told me about this. I would have welcomed her as well. Or even prepare her flowers.' 

 

She thought as she slowly pulled her scooter over in the school's car park.

 

"Im Yoona!"

 

Just before she steps out of her ride, she heard a familiar voice. It made her turn and smile to the latter. "Seulgi-ah. What's up?" It's her friend slash, Kang Seulgi. 

 

"Are you going straight to our class or you're heading to the lockers first?" Asked the very hype older girl, Seulgi.

 

"Why do you always ask that every time we meet?" Yoona chuckled as she put her helmet down.

 

"What? Just when did I ask you that? I don't remember asking the same thing." Seulgi is confused.

 

"I was just kidding. Anyway, why aren't you with those students at the entrance?"

 

"The welcoming of the president's daughter?"

 

"Yup." Yoona replied simply as she began to walk, heading to the school's building.

 

"Should I be there too? You're not there, so it's okay." Seulgi walks side by side with Yoona. "I don't think I will even have plus points about it."

 

"You're not interested of the girl?"

 

"Why would I be interested? We're not related." Seulgi stated as a matter of fact.

 

"Well, you have the point."

 

"You're not there too, though. So you're not also interested." 

 

Yoona let out an amusing chuckle. "I have more than important thing to do than to go see the president's daughter, though. It's not like I am not interested."

 

"So you-"

 

"I'm going to the locker first. See you in our first class, Seulgi." Yoona did not wait for the other girl's response anymore as she runs away, heading to the basketball's locker room.

 

Seulgi was left with her lips parted, watching Yoona's back getting farther ans farther and getting blurry from her visions, along with the students' crowd in the hallway. But instead of staying longer standing, she grabs the chance and headed to the girl's locker.

"We are finally here. Hmm, the classroom is not bad. It's spacious." Siwon looked around the first room for Seohyun's first class, after a some walks and searching for it. They ends up in the second floor only. He then began to ask the students to which is empty and available for the lady to take it.

 

Seohyun hesitantly walked inside. The stares from every student in the room is too uncomfortable, she feels a bit conscious. Although all of them are having the same friendly smile. It's not the same as in the states, where the students doesn't care about her. She will come and go in peaceful without those stares.

 

"Lady Seo, this seat is okay for you."

 

Upon hearing Siwon's voice, she averted her gazes to him and hastily walks to her seat. She uttered 'Thanks' to him as she takes it.

 

"You wait for Yoona-ssi later before lunch time, okay? She will fetch you before lunch."

 

"Yes." She said and the older bowed to her before leaving her from her seat. She automatically turned her head outside the window the moment the latter left.

 

"Hi, I'm Yeri, what's your name?" A girl suddenly approach her and introduce herself, she did not mind introducing herself. She looked down instead, biting her lip. She felt a bit conscious still with the stares on her. As if they burns her with their stares.

 

'Can they just leave me alone?'

 

After a while, the girl just leaves her and that made her relief. When the stares finally subsided, She returns her head to the window again and suddenly saw a plane passing by. Her lips curved into a smile, recalling the flight she had back to Seoul. Even though it took hours, she loved being in a plane. It was because they have good movies provided in their TV. She loves movies and music the most.

 

'I hope Appa will be okay if I ask him about pursuing music.'

 

She thought before she turned her head, upon hearing a loud voice, that got everyone's attention as well. But to her widening eyes, it's the same girl she is now living with. She also noticed, some girls are like staring at the doe-eyed girl dreamily. 'What is she doing here?' she thought at the back of her head.

 

"Hi guys, I'm sorry to interrupt. But since its not yet time for the class to start, I'll just take this chance and announce something." Yoona started. She can feel someone's gazes are different in the corner of her eyes, she decided to search it until she caught Seohyun's stares in the corner, near the window. She smiled at her before she continues her words. "I would like to announce..." She paused briefly to open the flower in her hand and shows it to the students, everyone's eyes sparkled in interest. "Yep. The basketball team's cheerleaders are on look for the next batch of cheerdancers. There will be a total of 10 students that will be accepted. If you guys are interested, you can go to the basketball court. They will be having auditions four to five in the afternoon, of course. Oh, I will be there to also witnessed the auditions. So prepare yourselves and we might have some surprise." She winks as she ends her small promotion for the team.

 

*Criiiing*

 

Everyone except Seohyun groans after hearing the bell rings. 

 

"Thanks for your time." Yoona bowed in front of them and give the flyer to one of the students in the classroom. She glances to Seohyun and the girl hastily looked away from her when their eyes meet. She smiled and just leave the classroom peacefully.

 

Seohyun in her seat is wondering why some of the students are talking animatedly about that doe-eyed girl. She must be popular in the school? Or did they just saw her? Just like when she walks in, all eyes are on her. But it's different for this doe-eyed girl. She couldn't hear anything related to her, it's all about her.

 

'So she's from the basketball team. And probably so popular. No, she's really popular.' Seohyun can't help but feel a little disappointed. She only wants to have a simple friend. But it seems she's not a simple student. She's someone that's too active in the campus, isn't she?

 

Sighing, she looked outside again. But only for a couple of seconds as their teacher have finally arrived. Her attention immediately shifted to their teacher. And as the class starts, she listens attentively.

Right after the bell rings and their teacher have left, Yoona hurriedly put all her stuffs into her backpack.

 

"Hey, Yoong. Lunch together again?" But while she's busy, a friend comeby to her desk and ask her.

 

"Oh, Chanyeol-ah. Um... I don't think I can today. I have something to do first. I might be having a lunch later only." Unfortunately, she couldn't accept his offer.

 

"What are you going to do? Anything I can help?" Chanyeol who had been so good as Yoona's friend wanted to help her. They're in the same team, although he's in the men's basketball, whilst Yoona in the women's team. 

 

"I'm...I'm okay. I can handle this. Oh, Seulgi. She can accompany you." Yoona immediately mentioned the girl when she saw her approaching her desk.

 

"What did I just heard? I'm what, Yoona?" Seulgi was quiet surprised. 

 

Getting up, Yoona explained. "You guys go together today's lunch, since I couldn't go. Maybe next time, I'll have lunch with you guys. Anyway, I have to go. I'll see you later." She did not wait for their response anymore as she left in a hurry.

 

Chanyeol and Seulgi both looked at each other's eyes, doesn't know what to say or to think of the sudden change from the doe-eyed girl.

 

"Let's go have a lunch date, then, Seulgi-ah." But Chanyeol can't missed the chance and tease his friend. But the girl yanks his hand off of her shoulders and walks out with those heavy steps. He chuckles and followed her outside right away.

 

Yoona who walks downstairs in such hurry steps finally arrives at the second floor. Her sweats are evident again, but she ignores and made her way to Seohyun's classroom. Just like she expected, she was all alone in the room, writing something on her notebook. She fixed her hair and her uniform first before walking inside in light steps. Seohyun who had good sense looked up and was right it's the nephilim, smiling so big towards her by now.

 

"Glad you wait." Yoona said as she pulled a chair in the side and sat down.

 

"Director Choi told me you're going to fetch me." It's Seohyun's first time to speak long and loud enough for the doe-eyed girl. But the hesitant was still there.

 

"Oh Chincha? Hehe, sorry if I'm kind of late." Yoona sheepishly smiled. She then took the lunch boxes from her backpack. She has to put the other stuffs out before she can get it out of her backpack. "Since I don't know you will like it if we have lunch in our cafeteria, let's have lunch together here." she added as she brought out the thermos as well. "I prepared the milkshake again for you."

 

'So the lunch boxes are yours?' Seohyun quietly giggles.
