20 | Unexpected encounter

 

 

 

It has been a while and yet, both Paul and Daniel are still into their game called - snake and ladder.

 

"Whoa! I won again!" Daniel exclaimed, happily. As a celebration, he flick Paul's forehead and once again, Paul pout his lips, sadly because he lose the game. But before his friend could even start it again, he stopped him.

 

"Wait Buddy!"

 

"Waeyo?!" Daniel innocently raised his brows.

 

Without saying any words, Paul just got up and runs to the pieces of lego in the corner. "Why don't we proceeds to another game? Let's build a lot of figures with these. The one who has less figures will jump 20 times." He wiggles his eyebrows, confident that he can make it. Confident that he will not be the one jumping 20 times. It'll be so exhausted if so.

 

Daniel however is also good at it, as he smirk and quickly runs to the nearest piece, starting to build a castle first. 

 

"Yah! You're so unfair!" Paul quickly build his own figure as well. The first in his mind, an Angel, his father always love to build for him.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the road...

 

Taeyeon was catching up on Yoona's car. She keep her eyes focus on their back. Their speed was enough which is not really hard for her to follow them. She is keeping her distance, making sure as well that she's not obvious to the side mirror. When suddenly the car turned to the intersection, she really cursed, knowing well the road. It's just two blocks away from the coffee shop now. 

 

However, at the middle of the road, she suddenly noticed the car slowed down. She also slowed down, and keep her eyes straight. When it got slowed down more, she's suspeciting Yoona will pulled over the car in the side of the road. So before she could be too obvious, she stopped in the side firstly. And she was right, the car did stopped. Now she wonders what's going there.

 

Seohyun and Yoona are both excited to arrive in Sunny's coffee shop, especially now, they have the reason to bond with Daniel. The fireworks display is going to be the reason of it.

 

However, as much as how excited they're, the car is mocking on them, when it suddenly creating weird sounds. Yoona's eyebrows creased as she simply ignores it. Thus, it keeps on distracting her, as it wasn't really stopping.

 

"What's happening?" Ask Seohyun, confusedly.

 

"Wait... " Yoona slowly pulled the car over at the side of the road. She step out and check on the engine. Smoke consequently greeted her the moment she opened. "Ugh, I think the car over heats!" She yelled as she tried to fan the smoke away from her. Going back inside, she checks on the gasoline, it's still full. "Over heat. We need to fill it up with water. But I forgot to bring water or any coolant." She said, knowing well.

 

"Where are you going to buy? I don't see any store out here." Seohyun looked outside and noticed it.

 

"I'll just call my brother. Hold on a second." Yoona then took her phone out and once again step out of the car to talk to her brother.

 

Seohyun sighed, slowly becoming hopeless to see the fireworks later. There's only an hour away before it will start. Then something happened to the car, It looks like she can't able to bond with Daniel tonight. Rather, she texted Narsha for her comeback in the mansion.

 

To Narsha Unnie:

[Unnie, Good evening ;)

I'm sorry for my absence last night.

I will be coming tonight, no worries. Keke ^^]

 

Though her message has no hint of shyness, Seohyun had a bit of her lower lip, shy momentarily.

 

A couple of seconds that passed, She received a text message from Narsha.

 

From Narsha Unnie:

[No problem ^^

But make sure to come early. We are going to have a little meeting later. For what? I'll discuss it later.]

 

Seohyun sighed and looked outside, she can see Yoona talking to her phone then end it. But instead of going back inside, she was checking on the engine again. The smoke was still there but it wasn't that much anymore. Glancing over her wrist watch, she really thinks they can no longer go to the event. Her mind just change that instant. She was about to go out when Yoona finally went back, she waited for her to speak first.

 

"My brother is coming. Let's just wait here."

 

"Um, I don't know if it's going to be a good idea for you or not... But I would suggest I'll go first? I mean, not straight to the cafe. I remember, I have to buy Daniel a snack. I think we can no longer see the fireworks, with this happening to the car. Plus, I need to go to the mansion early. I don't think I can wait for your brother to come and save us." Seohyun said, explaining her decision of leaving first.

 

"Hmm, you're right. I think it's better you should go first. I'll find you a cab." Yoona said softly, as she went out the car. With that also, Seohyun followed outside and stand next to the doe-eyed, as she also helps to find a cab at the side of the road. 

 

"I'm so sorry with what happen to the car." Yoona can't help it and apologize. Their excitement earlier to fetch Daniel and go straight to the one hour fireworks display submerged just instantly because of her car's unexpected problem. She can't just ignore it, otherwise, the car will burn.

 

Seohyun took her hand and give it a gently squeeze, "It's Okay. We really can't tell what will happen." sweetly smiling momentarily.

 

"That's why I like you, you're like that - so kind and sweet~" Yoona smiled back and held her hand as well.

 

"Tch, we just got official you're freely saying things like that?"

 

Yoona chuckles. "Of course, I should be the sweetest between us."

 

"Are you saying I am not sweet?" Seohyun playfully sent Yoona a glare, the latter simply pulled her for a side hug and pinch her nose. They chuckles in result.

 

"Aigoo, why is there no cab here?"

 

"Yeah, it's quiet."

 

"I think we should really just wait for my brother."

 

"If there's no cab, then it's not a problem. It would be a great opportunity to meet your brother, like finally." Seohyun snickered, recalling the last time Yoona's brother visited the mansion but she didn't get the chance.

 

"But if there is-"

 

"I'll go first." Seohyun giggles, earning another pinch from Yoona. She wanted to pinch her too but they finally can see a cab. Right then, Yoona call for it and it stopped automatically in front of them.

 

"Thanks for the flowers, Baby." said Seohyun sweetly.

 

With an instinct, the couple kissed and Yoona opened the door for Seohyun. She pulled her for a quick kiss on the lips before letting her inside the car. Seohyun gives her a flying kiss as the car finally left. Giggling a little, Yoona watch as the cab getting far from where she stands. She didn't notice, the same motorbike was carefully following Seohyun's cab.

 

She let out a happy sigh and turned around to face her car again. Once she noticed the smoke wasn't there anymore, she checks on her phone if her brother sent her some message. She put her phone back when she see nothing. Then, she went back to the car and turned off everything that needs to be turned off so the engine of the car will cool off. It wasn't long enough as a car finally arrives. Yul went out of his own car and quickly rushes to her.

 

"Oppa!" She eventually greeted him with a bright smile.

 

Yul patted her shoulder lightly only, as his attention were into the car's engine. He was carrying a coolant instead of water. "Have you turned off the engine?"

 

"Already did. The air conidition, everything I needed to turn off was off a couple of minutes ago.

 

Yul nodded and take his time, sensing the engine if it has cool off already. While he stood there, checking the hood, he noticed Yoona is checking on her phone. "You've been so busy lately. What's up?"

 

"Oh, not literally. I mean, I'm attending school now." Yoona gladly revealed it to her brother.

 

"Wow. You're really becoming a good actress." Yet, it didn't went good for Yul. "That's good to know. Just continue that and I'm pretty sure, a lot of non YoonAddicts will start liking you." He is thinking the doe-eyed girl is just going to school for publicity. He looked down to the reservoir of the car again and check if it's good to put some coolant. He casually poured the liquid to it, while he listens to his sister's answer.

 

"What are you thinking? Of course I'm not only going to school for that! I just thought it's time to go to school. You know, I've been noticing I'm so left behind... I should continue what I've started, right?" grinned Yoona, couldn't honestly tell to her brother the truth behind her sudden activity in school.

 

Yul was shaking his head lightly, while chuckling. Once he had filled the engine with its enough coolant, he stood straight and face his sister. "Okay, so how about your new show? By the way, I've been hearing a lot about it. I'm really going to watch the first broadcast. Tell me when is it, Hmm?"

 

"Of course! I'll tell you once the pd had told me. Um, is it safe to drive again?" Yoona glimpse at the engine.

 

"Wait for about 10 minutes, it's good to go. And you mentioned you have with someone else? Where is she now?" Yul raised his brows, confusedly. The call earlier got him interested when his sister mentioned about another company. 

 

"Oh, a friend. She's here earlier. But since she was in a hurry, she thought of leaving first." Yoona lied and didn't want to share Seohyun's name neither she's dating this friend. Otherwise, she'll be the first one to scold her and ask her to stop seeing this girl. Since she's a celebrity, she shouldn't be actually dating anyone yet. It was on her contract, but she's breaking it.

 

"Okay, A friend Huh?" Yul suspiciously side-eyed his sister. "Or... another thing? Hmm? Are you dating this friend?" 

 

Yoona waves her hand in front of Yul. "No-No-No... don't look at me like that! I swear! I'm not breaking my contract!"

 

"You know it's honestly okay for me, Yoong. All I just want to see is for you to be careful. Paparazzi's are just around us."

 

Rubbing awkwardly her nape, Yoona smiled to her brother, "I know... that's why... I'm not yet dating anybody... " she lied yet, cheeks turned red, recalling that very morning, she and Seohyun became official. 

 

"I know that kind of smile. You're dating this friend, No?" Yul lightly push his sister playfully, but the girl pushed him back, he chuckles softly. "That's denying. I seriously can spell you Im Yoona!"

 

The doe-eyed girl rolled back her eyes in annoyance. She pushed lightly the older one of them as she decided to close the hood already. Fortunately for her, Yul trapped her with his playful neck killing against her one arm.

 

"You tell me or I will do this to you?" Yul was chuckling.

 

Yoona struggled to let go for a couple of seconds, until she had shoved her brother away. "I'm not telling." She stuck her tongue out and quickly runs to the driver seat. But even before she could step inside, Yul got her again and playfully was tickling on her stomach. "HAHAHA!!! YAAAAH!!! WE ARE OUTSIDEEE!!! STOOOP IT!!!" She keeps on pushing him, but to no avail, she literally just laugh out for a couple of minutes, then decided to kick his balls, Yul eventually dropped on the ground, shouting out of pain. She just didn't care and stepped into the car again.

 

"Seriously! That was... Ugh... Yoona!!!"

 

Yoona hissed and left the car again, checking on her brother consequently. "Did it hurt you that good?" yet, only to . Yul hissed away and attempted to get on her neck again, but she was fast from avoiding.

 

"Help me out here!" Yul commanded, as he raised his right hand. His other hand is behind his legs.

 

"Are you sure you're okay now?" Yoona was taking measures. She doesn't want to be tickle again. She was a bit far from her brother to prevent anything would happen.

 

"100 percent sure! Babo!" Yul just shrugs. He put all his strength and push himself up, slowly. Once he was on his feet, he chuckles, staring at Yoona. The girl smiled at him. "I miss this."

 

"Me too Oppa. I really do."

 

"Well, No worries. As soon as I've got my life back, we'll be doing this more often."

 

"Is that a promise?"

 

"What do you want me to do?"

 

"Do what you are saying right now."

 

Yul took a deep breath before he reach for the doe-eyed girl's shoulders and looked into her eyes. He definitely miss her - even the way she looks at him. "Okay, I promise." He said, confidently.

 

"That's good to know Oppa. I know you will keep your promise." said Yoona, patting her brother's shoulders as well. "I want to see the old Yul back then, Okay?"

 

"Hmm, I think that will take time." Yul snickered, playfully.

 

"Tch, as if he is not brilliant enough." mumbles Yoona, as she hop back to the car and started the engine.

 

Yul rested his forearms in the window and check inside the car. He noticed a book was on the backseat, he ask about it. "So you attended History again?"

 

Yoona followed where her brother is staring at, she smiled when she realized, Seohyun had left it behind. "Yeah. Honestly it wasn't me who wanted it, my father."

 

"He check on your studies again, didn't he?" A small smile creeps across the tan guy. He always likes Mr. Im's antics.

 

"Likewise, Oppa. He is really my superior in my life. Ugh, I always hate it." Yoona playfully groan, earning a chuckle from the tan guy.

 

"As if you're not used to it, eh?"

 

"You know what? I sometimes wonder if I can be born again so I can choose my parents."

 

"Babo." Yul chuckles, smack Yoona's head.

 

"Hehe, but it's really ridiculous, ya know!"

 

"Oh yeah? Want to switch father instead?"

 

"Mr. Kwon?" Yoona wore a poker face.

 

"He's a good father."

 

"NO WAY! I'D RATHER CHOOSE THE PRESIDENT OF SOUTH KOREA, THAN TO CHOOSE HIM! hahahaha!!!"

 

Yul can't argue with Yoona's playfulness. "Tsk,tsk. Ara, I need to go. I'll see you next weekend instead."

 

"What? Weekend? Why?" Yoona exclaimed, didn't expect her brother would say that.

 

"I'm busy with something. I'll let you know this weekend, Hmm?"

 

"Oh, Okay." was the only that Yoona can say. She can't ask more if it's about business again, which she is not fond with. Being a shareholder is enough for her.

 

Giving Yoona a light punch on his sister's upper arm, He chuckles and finally left to his car. Yoona watched as her brother carefully drives off through the side mirror. The latter shoot her through his hand before the car had speed up. Yoona's smile was all over her face, glad that she had a little talk with her brother. She really missed the old days, and that made her sadden out of a sudden. She really hope, the real Yul will comeback.

 

Taking a glance to her watch, she whined quietly as she find the time did pass too fast. She looked outside, to the dark specifically, she sighed to see nothing but the stars. She fish her phone out and immediately called her girlfriend.

 

"Are you in the coffee shop?"

 

[Not yet. Later. I'm in the convenience store. I'm using this chance to have a little grocery too. How 'bout you? Have you meet with your brother already?]

 

"Yes, earlier. Um, going straight to the coffee shop now. I'll see you there?"

 

[Why don't you see me here, then?]

 

"I was - No... I think it's better I'll see you there. I'm quiet being careful now. And to think, your son will definitely be reminded with the kiss last night... if he'll see us together."

 

[Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Um, Baby? What do you want me to buy for you?]

 

Yoona instantly grin. "Can you buy some nachos for me?"

 

[Fast foods?]

 

"Absolutely! Hehehe... " snickered Yoona in the process.

 

[Ugh, You know I hate that. But anyway, for you - I'll exempt it.] Seohyun's giggles was so clear on the next line. That made Yoona to smile from ear to ear, feeling her heart flutter so well.

 

"Thanks, Baby. Can't wait to see you later~ I love you~" Yoona made a kiss sound.

Yoona definitely, "KYAAAAA!!!" squeal once it ended. She put her phone down and excitedly speed up. She just can't wait to see Daniel as well though. And yes, do her new mission. This is going to be her last mission, for a happy a healthy relationship with everybody. 

 

"Daniel, don't be hard to get - like your mother Okay? Yoong Daddy will be the best Daddy in the world, if you will behave. Hehehe... " she snickered, couldn't believe she's like on the first stage of pleasing the young boy again.

 

 

 

 

[Convenience store]

 

 

Napkin, tissue paper, soap, new toothbrush, cup of noodles, 4 packs of nachos, two sachet of tea and the least, Daniel's favorite pepero and muffins, Seohyun was all satisfied with the stuffs she put on a basket. She was about to makes her way to the cashier when she passes by a refrigerator. She mentally scolded herself for almost forgetting the bottles of water for her son. She took three of it and an apple juice to her basket, then once again proceeds to the cashier counter. Unfortunately for her, she spotted her favorite sweet potatoes snack, she got tempted and took two packs of it. Once again, she proceeds to the convenience store, she frowned to see Taeyeon, entering the same place.

 

"Omo! Unnie! What are you doing here?!"

 

However, the girl surprisingly pushed her with her to the corner of the store. Specifically, they are in the ice cream freezer. 

 

"Choose three flavor, I'll buy it for you." said Taeyeon, smiling meaningfully.

 

"Chincha?"

 

"Yup. So take your time."

 

"Yikes!" Happily, Seohyun clasp her two palms and was a child like when her eyes scan the inside of the freezer.

 

Taeyeon who was next to her, eyed the boquet of flowers sticking out her shoulder bag. A rising of eyebrows was seen in her features, thinking, Yoona give this for sure. Hmm, they're seriously getting so well to one another. But she quickly turned her head back when she finally caught Yul entered the same store. On alert, she moved closer to Seohyun, held her waist, and leaned her head slightly closer to the girl's head, so Yul won't have any glimpse of the younger girl. Seohyun was a bit surprised and confused to her sudden moves, she just smiled and signal her to choose 5 flavors this time. Seohyun shrugs the closeness Taeyeon was making and once again scan the different ice creams. She IS really taking her time. It's so rare for Taeyeon to treat her - this is her chance.

 

While Seohyun is busy, Taeyeon tilted her head to see if Yul was still around. To her dismay, Yul seems to be really taking her time. She was in the drinks section, which is just five shelves of junk foods away from where they stand. Thank God and there's a lot of costumers tonight, they can't be seen to where they're standing. She made sure she's blocking Seohyun's sight to that side - while she's holding her in place.

 

"Unnie, here." Like a child, Seohyun gives the five different flavors of ice cream cup to Taeyeon. The latter chuckles and place it on the basket she's holding. Before she could react, Taeyeon quickly dragged her to the cashier counter, while glancing to Yul's side. 

 

"What's wrong with you?" Seohyun is really getting suspicious.

 

"Nothing. Um, here. Use my card. I'll also pay for the others."

 

"Wait, is my parents asking you to do this?" Seohyun accused without a doubt.

 

"Miss! Can I know the real price of this?!"

 

Suddenly hearing Yul's voice - clear enough behind, Taeyeon quickly turned Seohyun to face the counter. "I'm Okay, I'm just a little hurry. To think, I'm going to fetch Paul in Sunny's coffee shop. And please, your parents doesn't know this." she whispered to Seohyun. She sighed in relief when she noticed Yul's attention was now to the sales lady. And five costumers had already line up behind them.

 

Oblivious young mother, She just shrugged. She put all the stuffs to the counter instead, including the ice creams. It wasn't long enough and they paid it, then casually left the store, with Taeyeon carrying the plastic bags.

 

Seohyun didn't even got the chance to react when Taeyeon already put the helmet on her head. She even locked it for her.

 

"I know you are going to the cafe. Just hop in." Explained Taeyeon, patting the empty space behind her. She had a widening of eyes when She caught Yul sat down at the convenience store's table and have a cup of noodles. 

 

"Thanks Unnie. This really mean so much." Seohyun who was back facing the store, obliviously hop in behind her bodyguard. 

 

Taeyeon instantly put on her helmet and quickly drives off. Seohyun held on her waist tightly because of the speed.

 

"UNNIE, IF IT'S PAUL YOU ARE JUST GOING TO FETCH, Why are you so fast?!!!" Seohyun got tired shouting at the end.

 

"IT'S LATE! I STILL HAVE something to do." Taeyeon chuckles when she also followed Seohyun's shout, whilst focus on her road.

 

"O-K-A-Y!!!!" Seohyun replied back, chuckling in the process as well. She rested her head against Taeyeon's back and close her eyes. 

 

Taeyeon smiled unconsciously, upon noticing Seohyun's arms slowly relax to under. She also slowed down, knowing that they're now safe from Yul. As far as she still wants to, Seohyun and Yul shouldn't meet yet. Especially now, the girl seemed in love with Yoona. As her bodyguard, she should see to it she's safe from any heartaches as well. Otherwise, The Seo parents will definitely scold her once they'll know their daughter is hurting again from this kwon Yul.

 

Until it was the right time, I'm going to let you face the father of your twins. She thought at the back of her head.

 

 

 

 

[Only-U Cafe]

 

 

"Shoot! Whoa! Way to go Paul!" Yoona literally celebrated when Paul had shoot the ball in the ring. But to her dismay, she quickly compose herself when Daniel's tantalizing eyes once again caught her eyes. "Yeah, Paul shoot the bell. Hehe... " She sheepishly grinned.

 

Daniel then shrugs and took the ball from his friend. He steps five backward and pose on his stance. Then he shoot the ball  to the basket, it was a miss.

 

Yoona chuckles once again earning Daniel's cute glare. She just stuck her tongue out, enjoying the kid's reaction ever since she arrived in the place.

 

Paul's turn -- he took the ball casually on the floor and instead of just a shooting it by the distance, he made a dunk. Yoona really get on her feet and celebrated with Paul, who was jumping around with her.

 

"WHOA! PAUL IS THE MVP. PAUL WOOON!!!"

 

"Thank You, Yoona Noona. Hahaha!" They celebrated like there wasn't another person on the side.

 

Daniel is getting more jealous on the side. He picked up the ball and also dunk to the basket, Yoona and Paul stopped momentarily. He thought they would just ignore, he attempted to walk away, but only to be lifted up by the doe-eyed in the air.

 

"Danny is also the mvp! Woooohooo!!! PAUL AND DANNY WON THE GAME!!!" Yoona celebrated. Like automatically, Daniel was laughing and keeps on shouting the same words with his Daddy. Paul was on the side, jumping, dancing and laughing along with them.
