“AHHHHHH!! NO!!!! STAY AWAY FROM ME!!! NOOOOOO!” screamed SinB.

Umji jumped up and quickly turned around to SinB who was shouting. She was having a nightmare. Umji slowly patted her head. “SinB… SinB… come on… wake up... it’s a nightmare… ” said Umji as she slowly nudged SinB.

“NOOO! DON’T TOUCH ME!!!” screamed again SinB eyes closed with a scared expression on her face.

Umji frowned and shook SinB a bit harder. “SinB, wake up. SinB!!” insisted Umji then finally SinB’s eyes widen up and the girl jumped to sit on bed hiding her face into the blanket.

Umji slowly wrapped her arms around SinB in which she could feel SinB tensed up.

“It was just a nightmare SinB ar...” smoothed Umji as she slowly patted her back.

SinB nodded and slowly let go of the blanket and hugged Umji back.

“Umji ar...I’m scare….” said SinB in a low voice.

“Shhh, what happened in the nightmare?” asked Umji, unsure if it’s the right thing to ask.

“I… was walking home and then... suddenly I got dragged into a dark alley and there was no one there. Then I see Jackson smirking at me… I was trying to run away but, no matter where I run, it was like a maze… it was dead end everywhere… and then Jackson would just laugh and say you can run SinB but you can’t run away from me. I will catch you… ” sobbed SinB.

Umji hugged SinB tighter. “Shhh, that won’t happen. We are here. He won’t dare to lay his hand on you again ok?” said Umji with a reassuring tone.

“Come SinB, let’s sleep a bit more before class ok?” whispered Umji while pulling SinB down toward her. SinB nodded and lay her head on the crook of Umji’s neck and sniffled while Umji cuddled SinB to sleep. Umji sighed and slowly closed her eyes, wondering what should she do.

When SinB wake up, she heard some voices down there while Umji wasn’t by her side. She slowly tiptoe down to see her parents at the table with Umji.

“Morning my princess!” exclaimed SinB’s dad as he quickly went to hug SinB.

Umji panicked, how would SinB react.

As her father hug her, her body felt a bit tense and she quickly dodged away. “Morning appa...” suttered SinB not looking at him in the eyes.

“Something’s wrong?” asked her dad seeing how his daughter reacted.

SinB shook her head. “No… just… ”

“Oh, SinB is getting sick so she doesn’t want to give it to you...” quickly explained Umji in which her dad looked at them and nodded.

“Oh I see! Don’t worry, appa is a strong man! I won’t get sick that easily! But thank you for being so caring hehe.” said her dad while ruffling SinB’s hair.

“Come eat breakfast!” exclaimed her dad as he went into the kitchen to get some food for SinB.

SinB sat down beside Umji then looked at her mom. “Good morning amma… ” she said shyly wondering if her mom was in a good mood or not.

“How are you?” asked her mom pushing some food in front of SinB..

“I’m okay...you?” asked back SinB as she took the food and looked up at her mother with a shy smile.

“Just tired…” answered her mom before smiling back at SinB.

“Oh, why don’t you go take a nap now?” asked SinB concerned, she could see how tired her mom was.

“Because your umma missed you so much so we took the late plane back!” exclaimed SinB’s dad but he earned a glare from his wife.

SinB giggled then got up behind her mom to hugged her tightly which shocked her amma a little, neither of them two were that much affectionate with the other.

Her mom smiled and pulled SinB around to hug her from the front. “Amma is here, you can talk to me you know.” whispered SinB’s amma, feeling something was off with her daughter.

Somehow, hearing that smooth and soft voice, SinB started to tear up and cry which again shocked her amma who looked down at her worried..

“Honey, what did you do to our princess? Why you make her cry?!” exclaimed her dad but earned a deadly glare from his wife in which he shut up and walked toward SinB and hugged both his wife and daughter together.

“Is our princess okay?” whispered his dad. SinB shook her head.

“Did something happened?” asked her mom softly again. SinB just shook her head and kept crying.

“I ...I just..miss you guys so much…” said SinB which made both of her parents smile. She had missed having them around to take care of her, reassuring her, guiding her… growing up wasn’t as easy and fun as she thought, and she kinda missed her overprotective and controlling mother… but feeling them both hugging her right now made her more safe than ever. SinB wished she could stay in they arms forever.

SinB felt a soft kiss on her crown, it was her mom. SinB heart felt so warm, it was so rare for her mom to show her affection.

Then the doorbell rang, before Umji has the time to go open the door, SinB’s dad was already heading there.

As he open the door, he saw Sowon and Yerin standing there.

Both Sowon and Yerin were surprised to see the man there.

“Good morning uncle!” said politely Sowon as she greeted him.

“Good morning…” said Yerin too as she bow down.

SinB’s dad looked at them and smiled brightly. “Good morning girls, come in come in.” he said as he opened the door to let the girls in and gestured for them to enter quickly. As they got in, they walked toward the kitchen table and saw SinB in her mom embrace.

“Good morning aunty.” said Sowon more shyly now then she looked at SinB, wondering what happened.

Yerin, who was standing behind Sowon took a step closer and quickly bowed down. “Good morning aunty!” she said a bit stuttering which made them giggle. SinB could see how nervous the girls were in front of her mom.

“Who do we have here?” asked SinB’s dad as he joined the girls.

“Oh, this is our friend Yerin.” introduced Umji smiling.

Yerin smiled and nodded. “Yeah, I study in the same school as Sowon and SinB. It’s nice to finally meet you.” she bowed again then looked at SinB’s mom who was still hugging her daughter.

Her mom looked at Yerin from top to the bottom. “You study in the same course as SinB?” she asked a raised eyebrow which made her husband sigh.

“Here we go again” whisper SinB’s dad to Yerin. “Good luck!” he teased then walked away making Yerin gulp. She heard that SinB’s mom was very strict, and she was totally not ready to meet them today.

“Oh… Actually I study in biochemistry.” answered Yerin.

“Oh, how did you meet our SinB then?” asked SinB’s dad suddenly.

“Hehe, actually it was a real accident. I accidently bumped into her and then we just started to hang out at school.” explained Yerin smiling as she looked at SinB, their eyes meet and SinB smiled back at her remembering that day like it was yesterday.

“Biochemistry. You want to be a doctor or something?” asked SinB’s mom curious.

Yerin shook her head. “Not really a doctor. But I choose to work in the field of biochem so I could analyze and work on some important diseases. It’s a good way to help save people’s life by analyzing how illness affect the body and how to create a treatment to help them.” explained Yerin and everyone was listening to her, SinB never asked her this question, she never tried to learn more about Yerin’s studies and future. “I think I would like to end up working in the pharmaceutical development or something close to that…” she added and everyone seemed impressed.

SinB’s mom just nodded. “I see. That’s good.” she said looking at Yerin in the eyes.

“Oh, umma, Yerin is the niece of the dance director too.” said Umji trying to change the conversation so SinB’s mom would stop questioning Yerin for now.

“Oh really?! Then you must be a great dancer too!” exclaimed SinB’s dad happily.

Yerin just smiled shyly and waved her hands in front of her. “No no, I’m not as good as SinB there. She’s a real professional.” she said honestly then they heard Yerin’s tummy growling which made everyone giggle.

“I guess you didn’t have breakfast yet right? Come join us Yerin and Sowon.” said SinB’s mom nicely as her husband added plates for them and filled it with food.

Yerin was going to decline but then Sowon quickly held her arm. “Thank you! We sure will!” said Sowon nicely then she dragged Yerin to sit down making her confused.

SinB’s mom patted SinB’s back slowly. “SinB ar, your friends are here. You are not going to talk to them?” she asked but then SinB just looked down. She wasn’t feeling like talking much this morning. She was getting ready to get scolded by her mom for this bad manner but then she felt another kiss on her forehead.

Yerin, Sowon and Umji felt happy to see SinB calm in her umma embrace. They were eating and chit chatting quietly.

As they were eating, Yerin stole a bite from Umji which made Umji frown. “Yah! Why you take my breakfast!” exclaimed Umji playfully hitting Yerin’s arm but then Yerin giggled.

“Mianhe, the food is just so good! I bet it must be aunty who cook it right?” asked Yerin looking at SinB’s mom happily which made SinB’s mom smile.

“How did you know that?” asked the woman pleased to see how the girl was appreciating her food.

“SinB brought some snacks at school before and I took some bite. It was delicious!! I would like to learn from you if you don’t mind aunty.” said Yerin sincerely which made the woman smile.

“Oh, learning from our queen? You will need to pay a huge tuition fee you know!” teased SinB’s dad which made Yerin giggle.

“Oh, I would pay any price just to learn how to cook as good!” smiled Yerin which made everyone laugh too.

SinB’s mom shook her head. “Don’t listen to him. Yes, I’d love to teach you since our SinB here has her dad cooking skill.” mom which they finally heard SinB voice and face.

“Yah!! Umma! I can cook a bit now!!” whined SinB as she stood up making everyone laugh.

“True true, our daughter cooked with us last time honey!” added her dad showing some support to his daughter.

SinB nodded, all proud of herself, even though she still has some tears in her face. “Yeah, Yerin was the one who teach me!” she explained which made her parents nod.

“Then Yerin ar, you should come teach her how to cook more! When we ask her to cook she doesn’t move!!” dad again which made everyone laugh again.

Sowon looked at the time. “SinB ar! Go get ready, we will be late if we don’t leave soon!” she said with a caring tone in which SinB nodded and quickly ran up to get ready.

Sowon and Yerin both got up at the same time leaving Umji and the parent confused. Sowon and Yerin both pick up the dishes and were heading toward the kitchen but were stop by SinB’s dad.

“Girls, don’t worry about it. We will do it. You girls have classes, go get ready.” said the man nicely in which Yerin put down the plates and bowed.

“Thank you so much for this delicious breakfast and sorry to impose you so early in the morning.” said Yerin and SinB’s dad patted her back.

“It was our pleasure to have you girls.” he said nicely and Sowon nodded at him politely.

Then they all went to the door as they hear SinB running down the stairs.

“Good bye umma appa!!” said SinB and Umji while Sowon and Yerin said “Have a great day uncle and aunty!”

“Feel free to come back whenever you want girls.” said SinB’s mom then they all left.

As they were walking toward the bus stop, Sowon sighed. “Umji ar, why didn’t you let us know that her parents were here!” asked Sowon which made Umji laugh.

“What if they are here? You won’t come get SinB?!” asked Umji back, pretending to be shock.

“Yah! No! But at least we would be ready to greet them!!” said Sowon seriously.

Umji rolled her eyes. “Come on, appa and umma didn’t eat you girls!” said Umji pushing Sowon’s arm lightly.

“But, what if they hate us!” said Sowon worried then SinB giggled.

“You’re so dumb, I told you my mom like you already, why are you so scared!” said SinB looking at Sowon and shaking her head.

“Well, I could of get into her bad side suddenly!” answered Sowon and Yerin was confused with all this.

“Why are you so scare of SinB’s parent? They seems very nice!” smiled Yerin as she held SinB arm since SinB almost trip.

Sowon rolled her eyes. “Yeah, cuz you never heard how bad they were toward Yuju!” said Swoon still a little scared especially because of SinB’s mom.

After hearing Yuju’s name they were all silent. Umji pinched Sowon. “Great on making this atmosphere weird again!” said Umji scolding Sowon but then Sowon pouted.

“Mianhe…”

Yerin giggled. “No but, her parents seem very nice. I don’t see any bad thing.” answered Yerin nicely. “We can see that your mom is kinda strict but here she was really nice and she’s also so pretty!” added Yerin winking at SinB.

Umji smiled. “Well you got into their good side already. They even invite you back whenever you want! I can tell you that they can be way more cold with people they don’t appreciate...” explained Umji seriously which made SinB nodded.

“Yeah, seem like my parents like you Yerin.” smiled SinB glad at least they liked both Sowon and Yerin.

Yerin giggled. “Well, who doesn’t like me?” she winked which made everyone rolled their eyes. The bus arrived and Umji had to leave on her own way while the three other girls took the bus.

As they got to the front of the school, Sowon suddenly stop making SinB and Yerin confused. They followed Sowon’s eyes direction and saw Yuju with Jackson. SinB grabbed onto both Sowon and Yerin and both of them could feel that SinB was shaking.

Sowon frowned, she forgot that she should enter from the back entrance.

“Do you want to go from the back?” asked Sowon lowly in which SinB nodded but then Yerin didn’t move.

“We are here with you SinB. Just walk in, you don’t need to be scared of him.” said Yerin determined as she hold SinB’s hand and intertwined their fingers together. SinB looked at their joined hands and looked at Yerin then she felt Sowon doing the same, she turned around and looked at Sowon too, both nodding at her. “We won’t let go of your hands.” said Yerin in which SinB took a big deep breathe and nodded.

They walked pass Yuju and Jackson without taking a glance at them until they heard the familiar boy voice.

“SinB! Yerin!” shouted out Jackson.

SinB whole body froze, Yerin held her tighter to reassure them. They turned around looking at Yuju and Jackson. Yuju was clearly not in the mood to see them while Jackson was just smiling innocently at them.

“Hello girls, you don’t even say hi to us now?!” asked Jackson innocently which made Sowon and Yerin clench their fist, trying not to punch him while SinB was just looking down, and holding both of their hand very tight.

Yuju sighed as the girls were staring at the boy.

“You dare to say that?” asked Sowon irritated. “After everything you did to SinB? You dare ask us why we don't greet you?!” asked Sowon not believing the boy attitude.

“Say what? You girls just walk right in front of us! You won’t even greet your friends?” pouted Jackson cutely but it only make the girls more irritated. “You could at least show some respect and say hi.” he added looking at Sowon in the eyes.

“How dare you?!” repeated Sowon mad now, she took a step closer to him but then Yuju stood in front of Sowon.

“How could you talk to my boyfriend like this? He was being nice to talk to you girls!” said Yuju pissed too then she looked at Jackson. “I told you babe not to talk to them, you shouldn’t lose your time with them.” said Yuju turning her back to the girls.

Sowon rolled her eyes. “You, should open your eyes Yuju. You are blind by this innocent look of him! You will regret it.” simply said Sowon walking away but then she heard Yuju answer her.

“I’m glad Eunha opened her eyes and decided to forget you!” said Yuju which made Sowon stop and let go of SinB’s hand to go closer to Yuju.

“What do you mean?!” asked the tall girl facing Yuju.

Jackson wrapped his arm around Yuju. “Eunha agrees to hang out with us and my friends tonight! Finally she’s coming out of her little hole!” smirked Jackson then he kissed Yuju and left.

As Yuju was walking away, Sowon held Yuju’s arm. “What do you mean hanging out with you guys and getting out of her hole?!” asked Sowon worried.

“She’s always too busy to hang out with us, so tonight she will finally open her eyes and meet new friends!” simply said Yuju as she threw Sowon’s hand away from her arm. “If you have a change of heart and open your eyes about this two.” she said pointing to Yerin and SinB behind. “Maybe we will welcome you back into our group, we were good friends Sowon, don’t ruin this because of her… ” said Yuju as she gave a disgusting look to SinB and walked away.

SinB looked down, her body was still very tense, just the fact of seeing Jackson make her shiver. Yerin could felt how strong SinB’s grip was on her. She would probably have a bruise from it but decide to held on the pain and slowly caress SinB.

“See, he’s gone now. nothing happened.” whispered Yerin and SinB nodded but then she looked at Sowon who was just standing there.

After some seconds Sowon took a deep breath and finally turned around walking toward the girls “Let’s go. We will be late.” simply said Sowon frowning.

SinB looked at Yerin and they just followed Sowon in.

“I have lab this morning so I will only see you at lunch.” said Yerin then she looked at Sowon. “You will pick her up?” asked Yerin but there was no answer. Then Yerin lowly poked Sowon. “Sowon?” then Sowon came back on earth.

“Oh yes...?” asked Sowon looking at Yerin

“You will get SinB?” asked again Yerin.

Sowon nodded. “Yeah.. I will come get you.” she said looking now at SinB then they walked away as they saw SinB sat down in class.

During class, SinB was thinking about what happened at the gate and then back to when Jackson show up at her work place. She started to panic, what if Jackson would be there waiting for her again. The class was quickly over without SinB realizing it. But she was standing at the door waiting for Sowon but the latter was nowhere to be find. She recalled Sowon’s class was not that far from her class and they both have a break now, so SinB decided to walk a bit hoping to bump into Sowon.

As she walk, she suddenly saw Sowon’s tall figure running after a familiar short girl.

“Eunha ar! Talk to me!” exclaimed Sowon as she caught Eunha’s arm.

“We have nothing to talk about.” simply said Eunha as she stood there then she looked down and saw Sowon’s hand in a bandage. “What happen.... to your hand?” asked Eunha worried and Sowon quickly hide her hand behind her..

“Nothing… just hurt myself stupidly…”

“Why? What happened?” asked Eunha wanting to reach Sowon’s arm but stopping herself half way.

“You don’t need to know, it’s something stupid... I heard you are hanging out with Jackson and his friends tonight?? Is that true?!” asked Sowon frowning. “You know how those guys are, last time they made you drunk and were trying to seduce you…You shouldn’t go Eunha...” said Sowon really worried about the short girl.

Eunha glared at Sowon. “What? So now I need you to know what I can and can’t do?! You don’t need to know anything about my business Sowon. It’s not your matter.” answered back Eunha making Sowon confused.

“Not my matter?! Jackson is bad!! And you have met his friends already, you know how they are ar bunny!! It could be dangerous!” exclaimed Sowon mad that Eunha wouldn’t listen to her.

“At least, they will spend time with me!!” said Eunha raising her voice as she looked at Sowon in the eyes.

“What are you talking about?! I can spend time with you too…” said Sowon frowning.

“You can but I doubt that you want. ” said Eunha sadly. “Or we wouldn’t be fighting right now.”

Sowon looked down. “I… i… it’s because…” but Eunha cut her.

“Watever! I don’t care anymore. You can do whatever you want.” said the short girl before seeing a familiar silhouette behind Sowon. “She’s waiting for you. Go back to her.” coldling said Eunha making Sowon confused then she turned around to saw SinB.

She quickly walked to SinB. “Mianhe!! I ... didn’t pick you up… Can you please give us some more minutes?” asked Sowon in which SinB nodded and was walking away but then they hear Eunha’s voice.

“Go hang out with your SinB! And it’s none of your business on what I do now.” said Eunha as she walked away leaving Sowon there, holding hard not to cry.

As Eunha was out of sight, SinB slowly patted Sowon. “Sowon…” she lowly whispered.

Sowon took a deep breathe and faked a smile. “Don’t worry ar SinB. Let’s go.” just said Sowon taking SinB’s arm.

SinB dragged Sowon to the bench outdoor. “I’m sorry…” apologized SinB making Sowon frown.

“Wae?”asked Sowon as she looked at SinB.

“It’s because of me that you and Eunha has turn out like this….I’m so sorry…” said SinB feeling very guilty.

Sowon shook her head. “It’s not your fault SinB ar.I already told you it wasn’t because of you.”

SinB shook her head. “We both know it’s my fault… you spend your time with me instead of Eunha… I’m so sorry… maybe I should go talk to Eunha.” said SinB sincerely

Sowon looked down. “It’s no use ar SinB. She believes in Yuju… There’s nothing we can do.” sighed Sowon looking up to the sky.

“What are you going to do?” asked SinB sad for Sowon.

“What can I do? She doesn’t believe me anymore… You know, our friendship has always been on a thin line. Maybe we have overstep the boundary and this is the punishment of me crossing this border line…” said Sowon.

SinB looked at her confused. “I don’t understand…”

Sowon giggled “I have loved Eunha for so long SinB… I always dreamed of dating her. You know in this society, is hard to accept people like us. People who believe in god will say that this is sorcery. Maybe, just maybe god really do exist. And this is the punishment I get for crossing the thin line between friendship and lover. I don’t know since when my heart have cross that thin line and I thought I was happy. I thought this is my happy ending but no, it was all just a little sweet dream. In reality, it’s just impossible. I was just being stupid… maybe Eunha will find a boy that will treat her better than me and she will be happier than with me …” explained Sowon with tears in her eyes.

SinB shook her head. “I don’t agree. You are the one who told me that we have to fight for our love. Nothing is settle. You are just having a misunderstanding and argument. It will pass. You just need to try harder. Prove to her and tell her the truth. And finally for once and for all confess your true feelings to her. I’m sure she will understand. Eunha is a nice girl and you two are obviously in love with each other but none of you is 100% confessing your feeling out. I’m sure once you do it, everything will be back to normal ar Sowon...” said SinB sincerely.

Sowon looked at SinB then looked at the sky again and sighed. “Maybe… you are right… I will try harder… I don’t want to lose her… and...” Sowon stood up looking at SinB straight in the eyes. “I won’t lose her.” she said, determined.

I hope this chapter meet your expectation ;) So! SinB suddenly cried in front of her mom and they had a little moment, how did you feel about it? I personally was a bit teary when we wrote that, it's a very nice moment. And, Yerin finally met SinB parents and her mom seem to like Yerin too :P How did you find their interactions? Yerin and Sowon held onto SinB hand as they walk in, I find that moment very sweet too. Sadly, Jackson had to ruin it with mentioning Eunha and we had a bit of WonHa moment but Sowon was left speechless. And then we had the Tom and Jerry moment, how did you find it?
