SinB panicked as she closed the front door and followed Yuju in the living room. She was so happy to see her but she also knew her parents would be a little mad that someone was coming over that late and uninvited… SinB faced Yuju. “Hmm, my parents are here, I should introduce you to them.” said SinB and Yuju nodded happily.

“I will finally meet your mysterious parents.” said Yuju smiling. “It’s not the first time I pass by, but I never got the chance to see them.” she added following SinB. “I want to see where this beauty came from!” she added with a teasing voice making SinB blush.

SinB entered the kitchen followed by Yuju and her parents turned around to look at them.

“Omma, appa…” said SinB pointing to Yuju beside her. “This is my friend Yuju.” she said and Yuju politely bowed to them.

“It’s nice to finally meet you.” said Yuju with a shy smile.

“Nice to meet you too Yuju.” said SinB’s father with a smile. SinB’s mother looked at the girl and frowned. SinB saw that and took Yuju’s hand.

“We need to talk about school.” said SinB before taking Yuju to her room.

Yuju laid on SinB’s bed and laughed. “I can see that you look a lot like your mom.” she said and SinB sat beside her.

“What did you want to talk about?” asked SinB remembering Yuju was coming to see her for a good reason.

Yuju nodded. “Right! It’s about school…” she confessed with a cute sad look. “I need you to help me with my homework…” she said and her cute pout made SinB melt.

“Tell me, I will show you…” said SinB unable to say no to her pretty friend.

As Yuju was talking about the lesson, SinB looked at her lips and couldn’t think about anything except the kiss again. How Yuju’s lips felt on her and-

“Are you listening to me?” asked Yuju waving her hand in front of SinB’s face.

SinB looked at Yuju confused. “Yeah sorry, I’m tired…”

Then Yuju suddenly jumped on SinB which made the latter fall on the bed. Then Yuju climbed on top of SinB and smirked with her hand up. SinB eyes widened. “What are you planning to do?!” asked SinB scared of Yuju’s smirk.

Then Yuju started to tickle her. “Tickle you since you weren't paying attention to me!!” exclaimed Yuju laughing and tickling SinB even more.

SinB started to laugh out loud but then suddenly they heard a knock at the door and the door was open. There, standing at the door, SinB’s mom was looking at them shocked to see that Yuju was laying on top of SinB.

“Girls, I thought you were talking about school work. How did that became you two laughing out loud? I didn’t know school work was that funny and how did that lead to you on top of each other? ” asked SinB’s mother with a rather irritated tone.

“Oh…school work can be very fun!” joked Yuju still giggling but SinB knowing her mom was upset quickly pushed Yuju away.

“Mianhe mommy, we were really talking about school work...” said SinB sincerely before looking down.

Yuju, hearing SinB tone knew she got her in trouble so she apologize too “Sorry aunty...” said Yuju sadly.

“Dinner’s ready, we will eat soon.” said SinB’s mom coldly before walking down the stairs.

“Do you want me to leave?” asked Yuju sincerely and SinB shook her head quickly.

“No no, it’s fine, you don’t have to go.” said SinB not wanting the girl to left yet.

Yuju smiled and went back into work then they heard SinB’s mother calling the girls. They went down and walked to the kitchen.

SinB’s mother eyed Yuju once again with a frown before looking at SinB. “If your friend is staying for dinner, add a plate on the table.” she said with a strict tone and SinB looked at Yuju.

“Do you want to eat with us?” asked SinB and Yuju shook her shoulders.

“Only if you want me to stay…” answered Yuju and SinB smiled.

“She will eat dinner with us.” said SinB before taking Yuju to the dining room and add a plate for Yuju beside her.

They all sat around the table and start eating in silence until SinB’s mother started to talk. “So, Yuju.” she said And Yuju nodded politely at her. “You are studying in the same school than our little SinB?” she asked and Yuju nodded again.

“We don’t follow the exact same course but we have some classes in common.” explained Yuju and SinB nodded with a smile.

“So you meet SinB at university?” asked the mother again.

Yuju smiled. “Not really, we meet during summer, at the dance classes.” said Yuju eating more food.

SinB’s father looked up at Yuju. “You like to dance too?” he asked clearly excited to heard about this.

Yuju nodded. “I like to dance, but I’m not as good as SinB.” she explained. “And I love to sing more actually.” she added and SinB smiled.

“SinB got those incredible skills from me.” said SinB’s dad proudly.

SinB roller her eyes. “Dad we don’t have time for this…” said SinB knowing that if her dad started to talk about dance it could take all night.

“But, it’s true.” said her dad. “I was the best dancer of my school.” he explained smirking and looking at his wife. “That’s how I attracted your mother’s eyes.” he added and SinB wanted to hide.

“I know this story already…” sighed SinB.

“But your friend don’t.” said SinB’s father with a smile.

Yuju nodded. “Yeah SinB don’t be a kill-joy! I want to know the full story.” said Yuju excited. And SinB father told the girl how he seduced the most beautiful girl he ever see with his dancing skill. “Wow, what a romantic story… I wish I will live a love story as romantic as yours.” said Yuju amazed and smiling to SinB’s parents. “So did SinB learn her singing skill from uncle too? She sang really well at Karaoke.” said Yuju all excited to know more about SinB and her family.

Then SinB mom looked at SinB. “You girls went to Karaoke?” asked the mother with an arched eyebrow then Yuju nodded happily.

“Yeah, we went a few time already actually! SinB has such a pretty voice! And she danced so well even at the club!! She’s amazing! I’m sure she inherited all these skill from you two!” exclaimed Yuju sheepishly hoping that will make the parents smile but she only received a kick under the table from SinB making her whine. And SinB’s mom frowned more.

“You girls went karaoke and clubbing? Wow, what have happened to our baby?” asked SinB’s mother, with an obvious unhappy tone. SinB stepped on Yuju again and glared at her to tell her to shut up.

“Haha, SinB singing skill must be inherited from her mother. You wouldn’t believe it, but this beauty umma in front of you has an angel voice! Sure doesn’t look like it right?” said SinB’s father with a teasing tone in which Yuju and SinB both giggled. It relaxed the atmosphere a little, SinB thought it would be done with the questions but her mom cleared and looked at the girls.

She arched an eyebrow at Yuju. “And are your parents okay with you going out around dinner time?” she asked and SinB rolled her eyes. Would her mother keep questioning Yuju during all the dinner?

Yuju chuckled. “Well, I’m an adult, they don’t really care that much about what time I go out of the house, they just want me to be careful with the people I meet and to call them if anything happen.” explained Yuju, her parents were very open minded, they let her go out since she was in high school, they knew that at this age, young people liked to go out and have fun, then never tried to stop her or anything, just warned and informed her about all the things she would be faced with by going out.

SinB looked at her mother sighing, it was clear her mom disliked Yuju.

“And do you-”

“Mom, I think you asked Yuju enough questions for tonight.” cut SinB not believing she would talk to her mother like this one day. Her father looked at her and frowned.

“Don’t talk to your mother like that SinB baby, we didn’t raise you like that.” said his dad with a gentle voice. There were something really reassuring about that man.

SinB’s mother looked over at SinB. “I just want to know your friend better.” she said sincerely and SinB swallowed hard. “So Yuju, do you have a part time job like SinB?”

“Mom please.” said SinB before looking at her father hoping he would stop his wife, SinB was getting angry at her mother attitude toward Yuju but she felt a hand on her thigh, squeezing her gently, it was Yuju that smiled at her.

“It’s okay SinB…” Yuju whispered to her friend and SinB nodded calming down.

“No, I am not such a hardworker like SinB! She’s so good in everything, having a part time job and even being the top of her class! I envy her so much! Thanks to her, I’m doing okay in my class with all her tutoring” said Yuju all happily.

“What are you studying in school? What subject?” asked SinB mom but this time she got cut by her husband.

SinB’s dad made everything to keep the conversation casual and tried to stop his protective wife from questioning Yuju more, knowing his daughter would be sad and he hated seeing his little girl sad.

At the end of the dinner, Yuju had to go so SinB walked her out. Yuju stopped and hugged her. “Thank you for the dinner.” she said smiling.

SinB shook her head. “I’m sorry about my parents…” said SinB sadly. “My mom is so protective and my dad is just really enthusiastic about almost everything…” she added and Yuju nodded.

“They are your parents and I know why you are like you are now.” she said with a teasing tone.

SinB frowned. “Well I think I have to meet your parents so we will be even!” joked sinB but to her surprise Yuju smiled.

“You can meet them whenever you want.” she answered happily. “I talk so much about you that they probably know you by now!” said Yuju laughing.

“Really? What did you say about me?!” asked SinB, worried that Yuju parent won’t like her.

“I said that you are my beautiful, smart, kind bestie that help me whenever I need help. And you are always by my side!” grinned Yuju while wrapping her arm around SinB’s shoulders.

SinB smiled, she was so happy then Yuju’s phone rang so the girl wave goodbye to SinB and left.

SinB walked into the house and as expected, her parents were sitting in the living room waiting for her. SinB pretended to not see them and walked in the direction of the stairs but got stopped by her mother’s voice calling her.

“SinB, we need to talk.” said her mom.

SinB gulped, she walked toward them and sat on the couch across her parents. “Yes mommy?” asked SinB, knowing what her mom was about to say.

“How close are you with her?” asked the woman with a strict tone again.

“We are close friend at school. We always hang out together…” said SinB hesitating, not sure if she should tell the truth? That they were pretty close friend, like sisters, that being separated just for one day was like death to her? No SinB shouldn’t tell this to her mother...

“What’s with her saying you went Karaoke? On top of that, clubbing?!” questioned her mother frowning.

“I… we… we went a few times to Karaoke… but we only went clubbing once…” answered SinB honestly.

“Did you drink?” asked her umma with an angry tone

“No…” stuttered SinB, knowing if her mom knew that she did drink, she would skin her alive on the spot.

“Hm… good. SinB, how many time did I tell you that you have to be careful with what kind of friend you make. You need a good reputation.” explained her mom, more calmly.

“I know umma, I am not ruining my reputation. No one even know that we have a company. No one know about my background except Umji obviously.” said SinB.

Her mom arched an eyebrow. “Speaking of Umji, whenever you went karaoke or clubbing, did you tell me that you were with Umji?!” asked her mom angrily, thinking that her daughter was lying to her.

“No umma, I went with Yuju and her friends to those place before Umji even know them...” said SinB looking down.

“What is Yuju studying in?” asked her mom.

“Human resource...” answered SinB.

“I don’t want you to be too close to her SinB.” said her mom coldly.

“But mom!! She’s a great friend!!” exclaimed SinB sadly.

“She won’t be able to help you in the future. You need people that are smart!”

“Mom, she’s in commerce too!! She can work with me!”

“She need your help in study. We don’t need that kind of people. Human resource is hard to find job anyways and it’s not hard to study compare to what you will be doing. She’s just using you SinB. Don’t argue with me.” said SinB’s mother as to close the discussion, it was clear she wanted SinB to stop seeing Yuju.

“Mom, I always listen to you!! Why can’t I chose my own friends!! And she doesn’t use me!! I’m just helping her on my own!!” argued back SinB for the first time in her entire life.

“This girl show up out of nowhere, she’s impolite, rude. I do not like her. Because of her you are talking back to me? What have happen to you?! Did I really send you to the wrong school?! Arg!!!” exclaimed her mom mad. Then she stood up and walked up before stopping on her track.

“Do not make me repeat another time SinB. I do not want you associating with her.” she added authoritatively then she walked up the stairs.

SinB eyes were teary, she hated her mom for this. Always telling her to be friend with people that are useful in the future. She felt a soft pat on the head and looked up at her father.

“Daddy…” says SinB all teary.

“I know I know, my baby girl..Shhh...You know that your mom is doing everything for your own good.” said SinB’s father while hugging her.

“But daddy, Yuju is a great friend!! I don’t want to lose her!!!” cried SinB into her dad’s strong and comforting arms.

“Shhh, I will try to talk to your mom. Now baby girl, go shower and go to bed ok?” he said letting go of his baby girl, then he kissed SinB on the forehead and walked up to join his wife.

SinB walked up to her room, fell on the bed and started to cry. Then she saw the little duck plushie, she held it close to her, hugging it and crying herself to sleep.
