When SinB woke up the movie was over and Umji was sleeping too. She felt more rested now after a little nap. She got out of the couch without waking Umji up and turned off the TV before going in the kitchen to drink some water.

Sinb felt her phone vibrating and took it out of her pocket. It was Yerin, she was asking if they wanted to hang out again this afternoon. SinB smiled, Yerin wanted to see her again or see them, but still, Yerin could spend the full day alone with Joy but she choose to ask them to join.

SinB heard footsteps and looked up. Umji was walking to her rubbing her eyes. 

“What’s making you smile like that?” asked Umji sitting at the table.

SinB hold her phone in front to Umji so the girl could read the message.

“Oh I see.” smiled Umji.

“It’s so cool!” said SinB excited. “She want to hang out again with us.” she said and Umji smiled.

“You should go then.”

“What?” asked SinB looking more seriously at Umji. “We should both go.”

“I can’t today.” said Umji looking down. “I have work to do and I have to go home to take care of some stuff for my parents before they came back.” informed Umji seriously and SinB sighed.

“Oh well we can go another time.” she said sadly.

“No no.” said Umji standing up. “I will take care of my stuff and you will go have fun with your Yerin.” she said pushing SinB to the stairs so they would walk to the room. “You get ready, put on your best clothes to impress the girl and win her heart.” said Umji.

SinB blushed. “I don’t think I can impress Yerin, she saw me at my worst already…”

“Don’t be silly.” said Umji opening SinB’s closet and taking out some clothes. “This, and this.” she said throwing the black tight jeans and the white oversized shirt in SinB’s face. “Wear this.” she said and SinB obeyed.

Umji helped her button up the shirt before she wore the pants and smiled. “You look really nice, now go have fun.” she encouraged the girl who smiled and hugged Umji.

“Okay but try to join us as soon as you’re done.” said SinB and Umji nodded.

“Want me to walk you there?” asked suddenly Umji but SinB shook her head.

“Yerin said they are in town, it’s on the opposite direction to your house don’t worry I will just take the bus.” said Sinb confident.

Umji hesitated but nodded. 

SinB took her wallet and her phone then left the house to go meet Yerin, she messaged her that she was on her way and Yerin indicated her where they were exactly now. SinB joined them, they were at the arcade. As she arrived Yerin and Joy were playing claws machines and Yerin won a toy that she gave to Joy who seemed happy to have it.

“You got it!” said Joy hugging Yerin now. “You’re the best at this game! You always win the one I want!” she said and SinB decided to interrupt.

“Hey girls!” she said as she came beside Yerin and hugged her before smiling at Joy.

“Hey.” said Joy smiling at her. “It’s cool that you could make it! Where is Umji?” she asked looking around hoping to see the girl.

“She couldn’t come, she had other plans.” said SinB and Yerin looked at her surprised.

“You came here alone?” asked Yerin with a worried look as she put her hand on SinB’s arm.

“Yeah.” just said SinB shaking her shoulders. “I didn’t have much choice.”

Yerin sighed. “You should have called, Joy and I could come get you and walk you.” said Yerin really worried. “Are you alright?”

“Yeah of course.” said SinB a little disappointed that Yerin didn’t believe in her to be able to come here on her own.

Joy frowned and looked at Yerin confused. “I think SinB is a very capable girl, she doesn’t need you to follow all her steps, she just took a bus to come here, it’s not even a 10 minute ride.” said Joy not understanding why Yerin was reacting like that. “Let her breath, she’s a grown up woman.”

Yerin faced Joy. “You don’t know what you are talking about Joy, it’s between SinB and I so please don’t interfere, it’s not your business.”

Joy nodded and SinB stayed silent. “Well okay as you wish.” said Joy turning around clearly hurt by Yerin’s words.

Sinb felt bad for the girl and even if she wanted to hate her, Joy didn’t deserve to be shut down like that.

“Joy...” said SinB walking to her and taking her arm to get her attention. “Thank you for taking my defence, but Yerin is worried because... a guy... harassed me.” she confessed looking down then looking up shyly at Joy again to see her reaction but Joy looked at her understanding and with sympathy. “I was unable to go out on my own for a long time.” explained SinB not wanting to tell the details but wanting Joy to understand better. 

Joy looked at SinB and nodded. “I understand.” she said then she looked at Yerin who looked down. “Thank you for telling me and I’m sorry that I talked without knowing, I just thought Yerin was overprotective once again.” said Joy sincerely. “She tend to be too much sometimes.” she added in a teasing tone relaxing the atmosphere now.

Yerin shook her head at Joy but smiled. “You love my protective side.” said Yerin teasing Joy now.

“Only when it’s toward me.” said Joy in a flirty voice and SinB looked at them feeling stuck in between two lovers. She hoped she wouldn’t have to hold the candle all afternoon by being with them or she would be sick before the end of the day.

They decided to go eat something since it was past lunchtime now and they didn’t eat yet. They ate together and while talking SinB realised she had a lot in common with Joy, they both were kinda competitive, they both liked vanilla ice cream best, they both enjoyed musical movies and of course they both loved Yerin.

“Yerin told me about the showcase you did some days ago.” said Joy as the conversation was going well. “I wish I could have seen it, I’m sure it was great, I never got the chance to see Yerin dance, when we meet in high school she already stopped even if it was her dream since a kid to be a dancer.” said Joy looking at Yerin with kind eyes. “I’m happy you could find someone that helped you reconnect with your passion. I know your uncle tried so hard to make you dance but you couldn’t,  and I understood why of course but look at you now.” she said smiling.

“We all are so proud of her.” said SinB smiling at Yerin too. “And she didn’t just made a big step for herself, she also helped me falling in love with dancing again.” she explained. “We pushed each other to fight our biggest fears.” 

Joy smiled a bit. “I regret leaving the country and leaving you.” she said sincerely looking down.

Yerin put her hand on Joy’s cheek and made her look up. “You didn’t have the choice, your parents were leaving for work, you were too young to stay here on your own.”

“I know but I feel like I lost the best thing in my life by leaving you.” she confessed and Yerin blushed lightly.

SinB swallowed hard, her heart was beating fast, she didn’t want Joy to confess her love, not now, not in front of her, her heart would break in millions pieces if this happened. SinB wanted to leave, run away from here, just ignore all this, she couldn’t stay any longer.

She suddenly stood up, making the chair fall behind her. The two girls looked at her confused. SinB swallowed hard, she panicked. “Bathroom, I need to go… sorry.” she quickly said leaving the table and running to the restaurant bathroom.

She entered it and closed the door behind her.

“It can’t be happening… it can’t be happening…” she repeated to herself as she tried to regain her breath. Her heart was like squeezed, it was hurting and she had hard time breather, her rib cage was like closing on herself and killing her slowly.

Her head was dizzy and soon SinB felt like she would fall, she gripped the sink and looked in the mirror, tears were falling from her cheeks now and SinB felt lost.

She closed her eyes and l breathed slowly. “Inhale...exhale…” she repeated herself till her panic attack calmed down.

SinB stayed there facing the mirror some minutes her body calm again, but she was feeling so hot and sweaty, she the water and washed her hands, the cold water was cooling her, calming her completely.

The door opened and SinB got out of her thoughts, she looked at the door and saw Yerin.

“Are you okay?” asked the girl worried. “You left so suddenly…”

SinB turned off the water and dried her hands while nodding. “I’m okay, sorry.” she said sincerely. “We should go back, we can’t leave Joy alone.”

Yerin hesitated. “Hmm.. Joy left.” she said before looking down.

“Oh why?” asked SinB as they got out of the bathroom.

Yerin cleared . “It’s… she wasn’t feeling very well.” said Yerin but SinB knew that she wasn’t being totally honest, Yerin was avoiding looking into her eyes and frowning to herself.

“What happened?” insisted SinB as they took they stuff and paid before leaving.

They walked out and Yerin didn’t answer her, walking in front looking away.

“Yerin.” said SinB taking Yerin’s arm to stop her and pulled her to her to face her. “What happened with Joy?” she asked again but Yerin looked down. “You know you can tell me everything…” said SinB sincerely and Yerin sighed.

“Joy wants… she wants us to get back together.” finally confessed Yerin and  SinB heart hurt again suddenly. “But I can’t… not anymore…” said Yerin and SinB frowned.

It was clear that Yerin loved Joy a lot, she could see it was so obvious, why not getting back together since they both loved each other.

“I love her so much.” continued Yerin and SinB swallowed hard at those words. “But not like that, not anymore.” she explained and SinB nodded. “She’s so important for me and she will always be in my heart but really I don’t love her like that anymore… I… I’m in love with someone else.” confessed Yerin blushing and looking down. “She said she understood and would respect my decision but that it was too hard for her to be so close to me right now so she would take some time away from me…”

SinB didn’t know what to do, what to say, so Yerin was in love with someone else, it was even worse than her getting back with Joy, SinB started to wonder who it would be.

“I didn’t realise it before, but as Joy confessed I felt it in my heart, it was here since so long, I just didn't realize and now I can’t ignore it longer.” said Yerin sincerely and SinB nodded not able to say a word, not trusting her voice, she was about to break down if she opened .

Luckily Yerin’s phone rang. “It’s my uncle.” said Yerin looking at the screen. “I have to answer, give me two minutes.” she said looking at SinB then turning away to answer.

SinB looked at Yerin’s back, she looked at the girl she loved walking away from her, her heart loving someone else.

She couldn’t stay any longer, SinB turned around and walked away too, she walked as far as she could, as fast as she could then she was running, running away.

Without really knowing where to go, Sinb continued walking, replaying in her head every word Yerin told her. Again and again. Her phone vibrated but SinB ignored it, she walked. she walked till she was in a park, she sat on a bench and cried, she cried and cried again for some minutes, maybe an hour, she didn’t really know, and didn’t really cared.

When SinB left the park it was getting late, the sun was going down and it was getting cold. She shivered and stood up, she walked back home thing time. As she entered the house was empty, Umji was probably still at her house. SinB walked to her room and let herself fall in her bed.

This night, she cried herself to sleep.
