“Is that all?” Tiffany scanned through the files after signing the last document.
“Yeah. Thank you.” Yuri smiled gratefully as she took back the papers and rearranged them. “I’ll let you know once Mr. Park gives us the go signal.” She collected her things and stood up but halted when she saw the girl looking at her uneasily. “Is there something wrong?”
“What?” Tiffany stopped fidgeting with her hands and stood up as well.
“You’re bothered.” She pointed at the girl’s hands. “You do that every time you’re bothered over something.” The grin on her face was quite teasing but it turned soft in an instant. “You know you can tell me anything.”
“I’m…” Tiffany sighed anxiously before turning back her gaze to Yuri. “It’s about…” She unknowingly started to fidget with her hands again.
“About?”
“Would it be weird if I ask you about Taeyeon?”
The words came out a bit shaky and Yuri couldn’t help but chuckle at Tiffany’s uncharacteristic behavior. “Depends on what you wanna know.” She shrugged nonchalantly.
“Alright.” Tiffany exhaled in relief. “Has she always been like… like this?”
“Like what?”
“You know… unfriendly…?” Yuri snickered at the way she hesitated and it made Tiffany curious. “Has she?”
“Oh, you don’t have to be so subtle Fany-ah.” She waved her hand dismissively. “Taeng has always been rude to everyone.”
“Oh.”
“But once she warms up to you, she’ll be the sweetest person you’ll ever know.” Yuri gave her an encouraging smile that Tiffany couldn’t help but return. “You just have to be patient.” She patted the girl’s shoulder and offered another smile.
“Thank you.” Tiffany said meekly, her cheeks turning pink.
“How long have you been dating her?”
“We’re not dating.”
“Not yet.” Yuri grinned at her teasingly. “Well, I tell you what.” She draped her arm around Tiffany’s neck and started to walk to the door. “It took me almost a year to crack up that grumpy little kid.” The smile on her face never left her and Tiffany didn’t miss the softness in her eyes as Yuri said those words. “I don’t know how long you’ve been seeing her but by the looks of it, she’s totally into you.”
Tiffany averted her gaze as she felt her cheeks getting warmer. “Oh, please don’t say that.” She playfully took off the girl’s arm around her and opened the door.
“Hey, I’m not only saying this to make you feel better.” Yuri stuck her tongue out playfully. “But seriously. I don’t think anyone has ever convinced Taeng to wear something pink.” She laughed as she remembered the pajamas Taeyeon wore a couple of days back. “And with unicorns too!”
“Oh please, stop it!”
“Anyway, I tell you. You don’t have to worry. Just bear with her grumpy attitude.” Yuri patted her head lightly before stepping out of the room.
