The  function hall was filled with guests, random children running around as everyone was busy settling down. Once everything was in place, the MC called out the attention of guests to start the last segment of the program. Taeyeon was too tired already, having to wake up early for today’s event. She couldn’t wait to go home and rest, a routine she had every Sunday.

 

“Can’t we just leave already? I’m so tired and it’s taking forever.” Taeyeon grumbled.

 

“Taeyeon, shut your mouth.” Tiffany hissed, looking around with a fake smile on her face, glad that no one seemed to hear what Taeyeon just said. 

 

“I wanna go home!”

 

“You can’t just leave, Taeyeon. It’s our babies’ birthday for goodness’ sake.” 

 

“I know but—“

 

“You wanted it and even planned for it so you sit down and smile until they’re done opening their presents.” Tiffany frowned at her wife who was now fidgeting in her seat.

 

“Fine, whatever!” Taeyeon crossed her arms and looked away.

 

“And before we end this program, let us hear from our lovely couple for some final words.” The MC announced, catching Taeyeon off guard.

 

“What final words?!” Taeyeon hissed at Tiffany.

 

“Just thank the guests for coming and you’ll be fine.”

 

“But I don’t want—“

 

“Miss Taeyeon?” The MC passed the microphone to Taeyeon.

 

“I—“ Taeyeon nervously looked around. “Thank you everyone for celebrating our children’s 7th birthday. We are glad you made it today.” She hurriedly passed the mic to Tiffany, her hands sweating.

 

“I’m so happy to see everyone, our family and friends, celebrating this wonderful day together with us. Our children are so excited to hear about today’s birthday party so it means so much to us that we are all here. Thank you again for coming and have a great day.” Tiffany finished it off with a smile, concluding the birthday party.

 

After greeting the last guest out of the function hall, Tiffany sighed in relief, glad that the birthday party went well. Turning around, she saw Taeyeon and their children carrying the gifts with a happy look on their faces. She walked to meet them and helped Taeyeon with the paper bags.

 

“Did you have fun?” Tiffany asked their children who nodded with a smile.

 

“I love the new dress I got from aunt Yoona!” Soojung said with a happy tone.

 

“Someone gave me a new toy car, Mom!” Kang Joon showed the red toy car in a box.

 

“How about you, Minho?” Tiffany turned to their son.

 

“Grandpa gave me a toy train!” Minho took the toy from his bag and waved it.

 

Tiffany giggled when their children engulfed them in a hug, thanking them for throwing a birthday party. 

 

“Umma is crying!” Minho pointed it out while giggling. 

 

“No, I’m not!” Taeyeon quickly wiped off the tiny tear that escaped from her eye before walking briskly out of the room.
