“Good morning, welcome to...”
“Can we get another person please?” Taeyeon yelled at no one in particular while waving her hand.
“Oh, it’s you again!” Hyoyeon pointed at the frowning girl then turned to the rest sitting around the table. “Wow, quite a big family here huh?” She nodded in approval.
“I want to speak to the manager.” Taeyeon deliberately ignored the teasing looks.
“That date must have really went well, yes?”
“Excuse me!” Taeyeon stared at the blonde dead in the eyes. “I want to file a complaint.”
“I told you that haircut was good on you! Right, Miss?” Hyoyeon turned to Tiffany and gave her a thumbs up.
“You are ruining my day.” Taeyeon turned to Tiffany with a deadly gaze. “Stop laughing!”
“I can’t help it.” Tiffany covered , trying to stop herself from laughing. “It’s been years and you just won’t let it go.”
“What does that mean, Mom?” Kang Joon looked at Tiffany with curiosity.
“You see kiddos, your mom right here.” Hyoyeon pointed at Taeyeon. “Took your other mom to a date in this place. At this very table, in fact.”
The kids looked at each other, seeking for more explanation from the adults.
“Don’t listen to her nonsense.” Taeyeon flailed her hands.
“She even had a haircut to prepare for the date!” Hyoyeon chuckled as the kids nodded altogether.
“That is so not true.” Taeyeon deadpanned.
“Really?” Tiffany reached out to cover Taeyeon’s hand on the table, eyes sparkling at the thought.
“It was a monthly trim!” Taeyeon held her hands up in annoyance. “And she just had to ruin it!”
“Good things outweigh the bad ones.” Hyoyeon said with conviction. “Now may I take your order?” She held out her tiny notepad and pen, ready to write down the orders.
“That would be 3 pancakes, 3 milkshakes, 2 waffles, and 2 coffees. Thank you.” Taeyeon grumbled as she put down the menu.
“Alright, coming right up!” Hyoyeon hummed as she walked away.
“Why is Umma blushing?” Kang Joon pointed it out and now all eyes were on Taeyeon.
“Umma blushes like a tomato!” Minho giggled while nodding his head.
“I would say more like a peach.” Soojung added, clearly not helping the situation.
“They are slowly becoming like you.” Taeyeon narrowed her eyes at her grinning wife. “New rule, less time with Mom and more time with Umma.” She said sternly, making the kids groan.
“But Umma won’t let us play!”
“Umma is no fun!”
“She wants to do chores all the time!”
The kids whined, scooting closer to Tiffany while looking at her with their best puppy dog eyes.
“Kids should be disciplined. It’s for your own good. You will thank me later.” Taeyeon wasn’t affected by their cute little pouts. “You are not allowed to do that.” She pointed at Tiffany who was joining in the fun.
“Don’t be a boring Umma, Taeyeon-ah.” Tiffany patted her wife’s hand. “Let the kids have their fun.”
“You are giving them too much freedom. Look at what you’ve done.”
“Don’t be a sore loser, baby.” Tiffany threw in a teasing wink that got Taeyeon speechless in annoyance.
“Oohh, burn.”
“You, young lady!” Taeyeon pointed at Soojung who immediately covered . “No more playtime after school. All of you.”
Another set of whining and groaning came from their children.
“But it was Noona’s fault!” Kang Joon whined some more, tugging at Tiffany’s dress. “Umma is not being fair, Mom.”
“One for all, all for one.” Taeyeon said sternly, trying her best not to falter at those cute pleading eyes. “You better get your attitudes together. You hear me?” She breathed through her nose.
“Yes, Umma.” The kids said dryly and slumped on their seats.
“Good.”
