“Miss Taeyeon, what a pleasant surprise!” Miss Lee greeted as Taeyeon stood at the gates of the orphanage. “Please, come in.”

 

“Hello, good morning Miss Lee.” Taeyeon bowed politely as she was ushered into the house.

 

“Good morning. What brings you here? Have you made the decision?”

 

“We haven’t.” Taeyeon looked around the living room. “I still have 3 more days.” 

 

“If you’re looking for the kids, they’re outside at the playground.” Miss Lee smiled.

 

“Can I see them?”

 

“Of course.” 

 

“So... how are they?” Taeyeon asked as they walked to the playground.

 

“Oh, they’re doing good. Minho has been asking about you since you visited.”

 

“Me?”

 

“Yes.” Miss Lee chuckled. “In his words, what happened to that lady who kept on staring at me, Miss Lee?” 

 

“What.” 

 

“He’s just a little excited, I guess. It’s been quite some time since someone had visited this place.” Miss Lee halted as they reached the playground. “There they are.” She pointed at the children near the swing. 

 

Taeyeon watched in silence as Minho pushed his brother and sister who were sitting on the swings. The little boy laughed at Kang Joon when he almost fell after a hard push. Somehow, the sight brought her back to an old memory when she was still young. Taeyeon remembered how she used to play with her twin brother in the playground, running in circles as she tried to catch Taehyung.

 

“Aren’t they adorable?”

 

“Yes, they are.” Taeyeon nodded without taking her eyes off the children. 

 

“They will be so happy to have you and Miss Tiffany as their mothers.” Miss Lee said with a smile.

 

“Do you think so?” Taeyeon finally turned to the middle aged woman.

 

“Of course.” Miss Lee nodded. “You two are going to be great mothers.” 

 

“I’m sure Tiffany will be.” Taeyeon looked away. “I’m not sure with myself.” 

 

“Don’t doubt yourself Miss Taeyeon. You will be fine.” Miss Lee smiled, reminding Taeyeon of her mother.

 

“Okay.” Taeyeon absently nodded. “I should get going now. Work awaits me.” She turned to Miss Lee after a moment.

 

“No problem. Feel free to drop by anytime.” 

 

“Thank you.” Taeyeon bowed before taking her leave.
