“Okay, listen.”
“Taeyeon, please.” Tiffany had to cut her off, eyes glued on the magazine that she had been pretending to read for the past hour.
“But you never listen to me!” Taeyeon stomped her feet in frustration.
“Fine.” Tiffany placed the magazine on the nightstand. “I’m listening now.”
“So I’ve been thinking...” Taeyeon cleared dramatically. “We should really get them.”
“Why?”
“Why?” Taeyeon stared at her wife as if Tiffany had offended her. “Are you blind?”
“Answer it then we’ll decide.”
“I knew this would happen so I came prepared.” Taeyeon quickly went into the walk-in-closet to retrieve some files. “Here, read it carefully.” She handed Tiffany the folders.
Without thinking twice, Tiffany accepted them and read each word carefully.
Reasons why we should get the babies:

They are adorable.

You want a girl, I want both, it’s a win-win.

They’re big enough so we won’t have a hard time taking care of them.

I went through their profiles, they’re perfect for us.

We make a cute family.
Tiffany was far from convinced with the lousy list but that didn’t stop her from smiling when she read the last one. “You do realize that this list is not convincing, right?”
“How dare you!” Taeyeon dramatically gasped.
“I mean... only 5 reasons?” Tiffany looked at Taeyeon in the eyes.
“You know we already talked about this for a year now.”
“I know. But that doesn’t completely apply to this situation. We’re talking about adopting 3 children, Taeyeon.”
“So?”
“Can we even manage?”
“We have Umma and Appa.”
“What?”
“And your dad too.” Taeyeon crossed her arms unconsciously.
“Taeyeon.” Tiffany said sternly.
“I know...” Taeyeon took tiny steps before sitting next to her wife. “It’s not going to be easy but I know we can do it.”
Silence filled the room as they stared at each other. Tiffany knew her wife was serious about this matter. It has been her dream to have kids after all. “Taeyeon-ah...” She held the girl’s hand.
“Yes?”
“It’s only been a day.”
Taeyeon groaned in displeasure.
“Don’t rush things.”
“But we’ve talked about this for a year!”
“As I’ve said earlier, it doesn’t completely apply to this situation.” Tiffany pointed at Taeyeon, immediately cutting her off. “We talked about having 1 kid, not 3.”
“Ugh! Fine!” Taeyeon crossed her arms, sulking.
“Baby, I know how much you want this to happen.” Tiffany held her wife’s face. “I’d do anything to make your dreams come true.” She smiled as Taeyeon puffed her cheeks in annoyance.
“Then why are you being like this?”
“You want me to be honest?”
“Of course.”
“I’m not ready for this.”
“What?” Taeyeon lifted her brows, ears perked at what Tiffany just said. “You don’t want to have kids?”
“I do, of course.”
“Then what’s the problem?”
“I’ll be taking care of 4 children.”
“4?”
“Yes.”
Taeyeon frowned at Tiffany’s cheeky smile. “I’m not a child.”
“Your actions say otherwise.”
“Whatever.” Taeyeon swatted the hands away.
“Okay, jokes aside, I want you to think about it thoroughly.”
“I am.”
“I know you’re excited and all but think harder.”
Taeyeon rolled her eyes as Tiffany kissed her cheek. “Fine. I will.”
“That’s more like it.” Tiffany brushed her wife’s hair gently, smiling at the girl’s grumpy mood. “Let’s go to sleep now.”
“No. I have work to do.” Taeyeon tried to get off the bed but Tiffany held her in place.
“Work can wait. I’ll cuddle you to sleep?”
Taeyeon just stared at Tiffany, clearly contemplating.
“Come on.” Tiffany tugged at Taeyeon’s hand until the girl relented and went under the covers. She opened her arms and slowly, her wife gave in. “I love you a lot, Taeyeon-ah.”
“Hm.” Taeyeon let out a tiny smile when Tiffany kissed the top of her head. “Fine, you win today. Love you back.”
Tiffany chuckled at the mumbled words.
