hoseok is kept in the glass box, the entire thing almost constantly filled with the medicine (no one talks about the 'HELP ME' written in something that looks like blood on one side). jimin is kept by the rows of red beds, light poles producing the medicine at random points and he must stand under it or else he gets punished. taehyung is kept in the mirror maze, little corners in the mirrors filled by pipes that push out the medicine. jeongguk is kept in the circus tent with strobe lights and ripped cloth walls, the medicine always being pumped in the four corners of the tent and curling out from under the cloth walls. namjoon is kept by the rundown cars with missing parts and chipped paint and rust, their engines replaces with flowers and the medicine coming out of the exhaust pipes. yoongi is kept in a place where it's always pitch black, the medicine being pumped from god knows where, but he has to inhale it all the time. seokjin is kept in a shack by the water, the medicine being pumped where the seawater and the ground connect so the mist from the sea mixes.

they all laugh. they all smile. they are all a little twitchy. they all laugh at the sight of their own blood dripping from their noses when they inhale the medicine when they wake up. they all scream violently for no reason, only to burst into a fit of wheezy cackles. sometimes blood drips out of jimin's eyes, but taehyung doesn't mention it when he presses his thumb against jimin's cheekbone. sometimes namjoon's fingers bleed from the pads, but hoseok doesn't mention it when namjoon presses his hand against the glass to feel the heat from hoseok's on the other side. sometimes jeongguk starts shaking and giggles until red tears are rivering down his cheeks, but yoongi doesn't mention it when jeongguk presses into his side. sometimes seokjin's skin turns green when he stays by the pipes pumping the medicine and sea water for too long, but jeongguk doesn't mention it when he cards his hands through his hair.

"we'll escape one day," they used to whisper. "we'll escape and be free, and maybe get help."

but that was five years ago.

"let's never leave," they giggle in each other's ears now. "it's fun here at the hospital!"

and sometimes they are able to leave their cells to run around in the large field with nothing but a large sign that says 'DREAMS'. sometimes a pure black drone with blue lights lining its edges flies around, the medicine being pumped out of a little pipe in the back, and they all chase it. it's a sick play on how they can only chase their dreams and never be able to grab them, but they never noticed.

and then it's all gone and everyone is locked back up, only allowed to leave a few times to visit each other, and pumped with the medicine.
