    Mark holds Ara's hand gently as the couple walk down the boardwalk.  The evening was quiet but cold.  The snow is slowly falling on them and Mark felt a little guilty asking Ara to walk with him this evening.  He takes his hand from the girl, stopping their walking abruptly.  About to say something, Ara watches as the man takes his jacket off. 

"I'm sorry, Dear, you must be frozen."  He ignored the chill that went on his face as he wrapped the jacket around her small body. 

Ara smiles and accepts the warm coat.  "Don't worry about it,"  She waved her gloved hand at him, "it's easy to forget things when you're immersed in the person next to you."  She blushed at her own words.

Mark chuckles and holds her hand once more.  "How is your work going?"  Mark asked, looking at the water coming in from the ocean. 

"The ladies and I are arranging meals for the homeless,"  She answered, "poor children are on the street with barely anything to eat.  Those sad eyes.. I hate imagining them."  She closed her eyes.

Mark hums and put his arm around her shoulders instead.  "You are doing such a wonderful thing, Ara.  I'm really happy this town has such a vibrant woman as you."  He smiled, looking at her with love in his eyes.

She blushed and silently thanked him.  "How are things for you, Mr. Mayor?" She asked with a teasing tone.

"I love the small business that keep coming to me.  It reminds me of us, a small couple doing things for the town and people we love dearly."  Mark explained, looking at the stars that are showing bright tonight.

"Ara, I love having you by my side as a fiancee."  He said with a smile.  "I feel that I couldn't do anything without you.  Become mayor, helping out with businesses, or anything."  He breathed in the cold air.

Ara smiles and looks down.  "I don't know if I could have the confidence without my fiancé, either."  She chuckled.  "I want to do so many things for my town.  Growing up here, there are so many things I want to change for the better."  She explained as they stand at the beach front.

"One day, I want us to raise our children here and give them a beautiful life."  Mark said proudly, looking out to the vast ocean.

Ara snaps her head to look at him.  "Are you suggesting I be a generation-maker for you?"  She asked in a rather upset tone.  "There's more to life than just sticking at home and raising children."  She argued.

Mark raises his eyebrows.  "No, of course not, Love."  He held her hands.  "You know I'm in support of woman's rights.  I don't think that you should be trapped at home and forced to take care of children."  He said softly, gently carressing her cheek.

Ara furrows her eyebrows.  "I'm just saying that I want to raise a family with you, and only you."  He continued, looking into her small eyes.  "My mother always told me families grow closer with children, and I want to be as close to you as I can, Love."  He said.

Ara sighed in guilt.  "I'm sorry, Mark."  She looked into his eyes.  "A few ladies in my group have been talking about their husbands lately..  I don't want us to be like that.  I don't want to be treated like a slave."  She apologized.

"I would never dream of it, Ara."  He leaned in to kiss her forehead gently.  "I want us both to be happy and persue the work we want to."  He continued.

Ara smiled at him.  "My weeked will be free, Mark.  I wish for us to go to church and be married."  She requested.

Mark gave a playful smile.  "You know what?  My brother, Jinyoung, happens to be wanting to learn business and wants to take over for me this weekend."  He said happily.  "I will make sure everything is perfect for our day Sunday."  He promised.


Ara smiled sweetly, letting the man hug her.

Whenever I think of early century romance, I think of it being tame.
The man respects the woman's space and they walk in a public place.
I feel like it was much sweeter back then compared to some things these days.
Of course every era has its unique charm to dating.  And in this, mayor Mark is going to marry Ara~
I know there wasn't much romance in this, so I'm sorry for that.
