Jieun opened her eyes and sat up straight in her bed.  Her eyes started glowing as she took in information on what she needed to do for the day.  Stepping off of her bed, she walks to the bathroom.  She lifts her night gown and opens the drawer.  There she sees a pair of light blue jeans and a pink shirt.  She put the clothes on and picked up her brush and hairbow.  Putting her hair back, she pouts.

"Why can't I be taller?"  She mumbled as her chin doesn't make it too far from the counter top.

She sighed and finished up in the bathroom.  By this time, the lights are on in her room.  Her eyes glow again and this time she recieves a notice for what is served in the breakfast lounge.

She opened her bedroom door like every other girl on her floor.  Stepping out, they make a line to the stairs.  Each girl went down in single file as older girls went up on the other side.  Jieun looked to the side, unlike the other girls.  She saw that through the glass were boys doing the same thing.  Boys her age and one happened to turn his head to look at her.

His black bangs split on the side, showing off a small portion of his forehead and a little bit of his eyebrow.  His expression was emotionless, just like hers.  Both children's eyes start to glow and instantly recieve a message to stop staring at one another.  Obeying, they both looked back at the stairs and finish going down the many flights.

Breakfast was like usual.  It was eaten, thanked for, and then they moved on to their daily activities.  One activity that Jieun liked in particular was her training activity.  This activity helped her unlock new knowledge on her abilities.

She raised her hand and a marble followed her hand.  "Make the marble go left."  The message in her mind told.  She moved her hand left, however the marble moved right.  "Make the marble go left."  The message repeated.

"I am."  She muttered.

She felt a shock go through her and she was instantly on her side with a small whimper.  "Get up."  The message told her, and she immediatly complied.  "Make the marble go left."  It repeated once again.

She moved her hand left, and finally it went the correct direction.  "Good.  Now open your hands."  She kept the marble in mid-air and opened her hands.  A small cookie was placed in her hand by a machine on the low ceiling.

Her activity was cut abruptly by a door opening.  She quickly looked at the door in shock, as she's the only person allowed in the room.  The marble fell when she made eye contact with an adult male.

"Excuse me?"  She stood up.  Even though she was short, her height was smaller than her confidence.  "What is your business in here?"  She raised her hand.

The man smiled.  "Don't worry, Jieun.  I'm simply here to give you your medication."  He said.

"You're a simulation."  She started waving her hands to get weapons in the air.

The man blinked and she was shocked.  "Ah!"  She fell and so did the weapons.

"I am not."  He gave a mad look.  "Take your medication.  The machine for your room broke this morning."  He gave her the caplet.

She recognized the purple caplet and accepted the water he also brought.  "Drink the whole bottle before the next hour."  He instructed as he walked to the door.  "You have really improved, Jieun.  I'm proud of you."  He said before exited.

She sat there in shock while drinking down the medication.

"No survivors!"  A voice shouted throughout the facility.

Jieun instantly woke up and her eyes started glowing.  She received a message saying that the orphanage was under an attack.  She gasped and quickly went into the crawl space that the room opened up.  The space was then permanently sealed off and the red light guided her way.  She felt a lot of heat in the shaft, but ignored it.

They have been through many drills like this, so she was prepared.  Her long night gown wasn't a great thing to wear during this escape, however.  She blinked to send out a message.  "Where is a bathroom I can go to?"  She asked.

"Why would you want to stop escaping?"  A message came back to her.

"Because I need something better to escape in!"  She said desparately.

A small hole opened and she stepped out quickly.  The room is vacant.  She went into the bathroom and opened the drawer.  She sighed happily when there was a pair of dark blue leggings and a collared shirt.  She quickly changed before going back into the crawl space.  "Not even a bathroom break?"  She received a message.

"I can use the bathroom when I'm out."  Jieun smirked as she moved along the shaft.

After a little bit more traveling, a panel opened up.  Jieun looked and saw it opened up to a forest.  "Hurry and leave."  She saw the message.

"But.. Where will I go?"  She realized that she's only been in here.  What else was she to do when leaving the orphanage?

"Worry about that later.  Leave immediately."

She obeyed the message and left the shaft.  After that, no other messages came to her as she ran away from the building.  She sees no one else in the forest with her.  Where are the others..?  She wondered as she kept on running.  Just like the message told her, she left without a worry of what would come next.

"Sir, the mission was a success.  The orphanage is completely gone from existence."  A man said with a proud smile.

The other man in the room smirked sarcastically.  "And that only took a year to complete."  He said as he stood up.  "Who knows how many other weird operations the goverment is doing at the moment."  He closed a safe and spinned the dial.

The other man bowed.  "Mr. Kim, please excuse our tardiness. We made sure there were no other survivors aside from the one you took."  He said seriously.  "It is all complete."

Kim, or as his full name would be, Kim Seomin, nodded and looked at his desk.  "Jang Kiyong, he's made himself to be a fine doctor."  He chuckled.  "He thought we wouldn't find him.  But he also thought we couldn't control him."

The man at the other side of the desk nodded.  "Yes, Sir.  We've managed to hack into his core, we know when he's doing something wrong.  It's very creepy."

"And that's why we're stopping these weird government experiments, Jongsoo."  Seomin explained.  "Because they're creepy and invading our privacy."

Jungsoo nodded and smiled.  "Thank you, Sir.  I will be on my way now."  He bowed.

Seomin nodded and looked down at his desk.  However, he saw one thing wrong.  "Wait."  He called to the man who opened the door.  "There's one child missing."  He realized.

"We found everyone, Sir.  Kiyong was-"

"It's a girl."  He connected his laptop to the big monitor behind him.  "Child GLJ–162–93516.  Her chosen name was Lee Jieun."  He gave a translation.

Jungsoo sighed and looked at the screen.  "How could we have forgotten her..  She was a really crafty one, the computer said."  He folded her arms.

Seomin nodded.  "She developed her own network, no wonder we couldn't find her.  We'll have to send in someone to get her."  He held his chin.

Jungsoo pursed his lips as he thought.  "Kiyong."  He snapped his fingers.  "He was a survivor and he could bring her in-"

"No."  Seomin slammed his fist on the desk.  "She is too risky, she needs to be killed."  He told.

Jungsoo nodded with a bow.  "I understand.  I'll contact Kiyong right away, Sir."  He left the office.

Kiyong watches as he slowly cut.  He took the tweezers he asked for and took the bullet out of the woman's chest cavity.  He dropped the bullet in the container before looking at his team.

"Stitch her up."  He instructed as he stepped away.

Obeying, his team did what was told.  Kiyong took his gloves off followed by his mask and gown.  When he exited the operation room, he took his cap off and cracked his neck.

"A success, Doctor Jang?"  A familiar voice to Kiyong sounded.

The doctor looked to the direction of the voice.  He saw Jungsoo standing there with his smile and his longer blonde hair reaching his neck.  "Yeah.. what's going on?  Didn't Seomin said I can live in peace without you guys breathing on me?"  He asked with knitted eyebrows.

Jungsoo's smile goes down a little.  "There's been a discovery and it's very urgent."  He started.  "Seomin has promised a cash reward if you did this thing for him."

Kiyong looked at him with a raised eyebrow.  "Really?  What does he want?"

"A survivor from your orphanage lives somewhere in a nearby town.  She ran quite far, huh?"  Jungsoo said with folded arms.  "She's a very high-risk person from the orphanage that needs to be killed immediately."

Kiyong's breath hitched.  "He wants me to-"

"Remember, this person only wants to kill other people.  She was brain-washed into destruction.  You're not killing an innocent person."  Jungsoo said very seriously.  "Either you kill her, or we will.  But Seomin wants to make sure it gets done right.  You were trained in weapons, so he figures you're the best for the challenge since you're from the same orphanage."

Kiyong sighed.  "What do I lose from declining?"  He asked.

Jungsoo just gave him a look.  Kiyong nodded.  "Alright.  Tell Seomin to get me a sniper rifle.  I want to get this done as soon as possible."  Kiyong left the room.

***

Kiyong dressed in black and walked into a room.  He sighed as he sees the rifle carefully placed on the window.  He looked at his watch, knowing Jieun should be walking past the alley the rifle is pointing at around this time.  One week past and Kiyong's schedule opened up as well as he learned about Jieun's schedule.

Another survivor..  He thought as he looked through the scope, the last one.  He saw her.  He racked the round in and set his aim on her.  She'll be over in one bullet.  He predicted as he aimed for her head.

Something in him didn't allow him to pull the trigger.  He tried so hard to move his finger, to make it obey with his brain.  However, something stopped him.  He pulled back and let out a breath he'd been holding in.  "I can't do it..  I treat people, not kill them!"  He held his hair and his eyes start to water.

"She's my sister.. I can't just kill her."  He thought aloud.  "I don't know her, but we grew up together in the same facility.  How does Seomin expect me to do this?"  He stood up and looked around.

He left the building and went down the alley.  He stays quiet as he stays behind her.  However, she quickly turned around and had a look of shock.  Her eyes started glowing and Kiyong raised his hands.

"Please don't be alarmed."  He walked up to her.

She stood firm but allowed him to approach her.  "Who are you?"  She asked sternly.

"BKJ–188–9287."  He answered as if he was still in the orphanage.

Her stance broke and her eyes widened.  "Kiyong.."  She whispered as her eyes glowed once more.  She walked closer to him and hugged him.

Kiyong slowly put his arms around her, patting her back.  "It's.. been awhile.."  He smiled.

"Forever."  She pulled back to look up at the man.  "Are there any more?"  She asked with hope.

He shook his head slowly.  "We're the last ones, Jieun."  He told.  "You look so sick though."  He thumbed her cheeks.

She nodded with twitching lips.  "I've been on the street for a year, of course I'm not the best."  She chuckled and stepped back a bit.  "I miss the computer telling us to stop looking at each other."

He smiled and patted her head.  "You were the girl on the stairs, huh?"  He pieced it together.  "All of the boys feared you, you know."  He laughed.

Jieun blushed and looked down at the sidewalk.  "I was the only girl there that developed telekinesis, of course I wasn't a force to be reckon with."  She said proudly.

"Can you still do stuff?"  Kiyong asked in excitement.

Jieun nodded and looked at the blue mailbox on the sidewalk.  It fell on its side with no warning.  "I've gotten better, but I miss the cookies I would get."  She looked up at him.

Kiyong laughed.  "My ability is to never need sleep.  You know how many boring hours I stayed up?"  He folded his arms.  "They gave me sleeping pills though, so that helped."

Jieun smiled sadly.  "I wish we were still there.."  She looked down.

There was a silence.  She looked around him and noticed his gloves and a vest on.  Stealth clothes..  She narrowed her eyes and looked around the surrounding buildings.  Focusing on the windows, she almost misses the little, reflective, red dot.  She looked back at him with wide eyes.

"You.."  She raised her hand to point at him.  "You want to kill me."  She backed a bit up.

"No!  Jieun,"  He held her shoulders, "of course not.  How could I hurt you?"

She shook her head and stepped back.  "How did you know I was here then?  I've been here for a year, you've never come this way."  Her voice started to crack as she kept backing up.

"Kiyong."  A voice came from betweent two buildings.

Kiyong saw Seomin walk out and look at them.  "I thought I told you to take her out."  He gave a mad glare.

Jieun looked at the new male before looking back at Kiyong.  Move the mailbox to him.  Kiyong said telepathically.  Jieun nodded and looked to Seomin.  She raised her hand and the blue box quickly slammed into Seomin.

Kiyong then took her hand and started running her away.  "Disable your messenger."  Jieun said as they run down a hill.  "He'll know where you are if you don't."  She told, looking behind her to see Seomin running after them.

Kiyong obeyed her, quickly shutting off the feature he was given.  "Faster, run faster."  He instructed.

"Ahh!"  Jieun gasped but kept running.

"What's up?"  He asked, trying to look at her.

She stayed silent as her breathing became heavy while running.  Eventually, they lose Seomin.  Kiyong sits Jieun against a wall in an abandoned building.  He sees the red pool spreading on Jieun's pink shirt.

"He shot you?"  Kiyong asked calmly, receiving a nod.  "It's going to hurt, but I have to take it out."

Kiyong took a small bag out of his vest.  He took his glove off and turned it inside out.  "Bite on this."  He instructed.  She obeyed by opening .  Kiyong wrapped her shoulder with the removable strap from the bag and picked up a pair of tweezers.  He then took the small flashlight in the bag and put it in his mouth, lighting the wound on Jieun's shoulder.

He really hated hearing her screams.  However, he located the bullet and dropped it on the floor.  He took gauze and put a couple layers of medical tape around her arm.  "There.."  He sighed.  "I'll give you more stuff when we get to my apartment."  He smiled.

"Thank you.. Kiyong.."  She gave a small smile.  "You were supposed to kill me, you know.."

They chuckle.  "I couldn't bring myself to."  He sighed.  "I'm sorry for getting you hurt."

She shook her head.  "Don't worry over it.."

And then the door to the building opened up.  Seomin looked at them with a mad glare.  "You two.."  He said while trying to catch his breath.

Kiyong put his arm around Jieun's shoulder when the girl inched closer to him.  They watch Seomin step closer to them.  "I'm not.. gonna.. hold on."  He raised his finger and fell on his .  "Oo, my hip.. It's not nice making a fifty year-old chase after you youngersters."  He laughed.

The pair look at each other with raised eyebrows.  Kiyong shrugged.

"Okay," Seomin looked at them, "I realized something while I was chasing you two."  He started.  "It's not right that I wanted you killed, Jieun.  You did absolutely nothing wrong in this year you were hiding.

"You didn't hurt anyone and you stayed really silent."  He continued.  "I want to make you two an offer, and I'm being honest."

Kiyong looked at Jieun and nodded when she gave a questioning expression.  "Offer."  She gave permission.

"I want you two to live peacefully.  There's a small island that I've sent other survivors to, and I want to let you two stay there too."  He said seriously.  "You'll be employed and you'll have a place to call home."  He offered.

Jieun pursed her lips and looked up at Kiyong.  "It's either that or be killed.  We're cornered."  He whispered.

She nodded and looked back at Seomin.  "Alright."  She agreed.

Seomin slowly stood up and held his hip.  "I'm sorry, Kiyong.  I should have never put you up to killing her."  He put a hand on his shoulder.

He nodded.  "I forgive you, Sir."  He said honestly.

They were moved from the mainland to a secluded island just like they were promised.  And they continued to live there with like-citizens that were put through government experiments.

The sci-fi kinda made it a bit different.
It's not the typical sci-fi stuff nor does it have too much to do with medical things.
It also doesn't really fit the video too well.
I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanted.
Thank you for requesting <3

Chapter 209: I appreciate your vision! This is definitely not what I have in mind so it is even better that you were able to spin my prompt in an entirely different direction.

Minghao's life was truly sad, and I'm glad he had Ella with him to weather through that. I thought the love between them were going to remain platonic, but I'm glad Minghao realized what that love truly meant for him in the end. I was a bit skeptical with the use of Sister and Brother to refer to each other, how do you think they got over that? Were they only calling each other that to keep up the facade (especially on Ella's part, as if she is trying to keep her feelings away, that sort of thing)?

Anyways thank you so much for this! ♥️♥️♥️
