Jieun dressed herself in her party dress:  a short dress with lacy sleeves.  She has her heels on and her makeup was finished only ten minutes before she left her apartment.  Today is her boyfriend's birthday.  And he's also throwing a party for his twenty-first birthday.  Jieun was invited as his number one guest, being that they're in a super serious relationship.

They've known each other throughout high school and have been attending college with a group of their friends.  She sees those friends all around the front room of her boyfriend's house  One girl she loves is Park Maera.  The girls go back a little further than she and her boyfriend, Cho Joonseo.  The man has a close friend who is Lee Baek, who has decided to move out after graduating from high school.

The other guests were either students from the college that are also in Joonseo's class or some friends from the neighborhood.  There weren't any of Joonseo's family there, being that it's going to be a hectic time rather than a relaxing birthday.

Jieun placed her wrapped gift on the table with all the other presents waiting to be opened.   She fastened the bow as a heart so that he knows exactly who the gift is from.  She smirked and turned to the food and drink table.  She picked up a cup and poored some water in it.  She sniffed the drink, not wanting to drink alcohol due to being one year younger than Joonseo.  After her analysis, she sipped on the water and looked around for her one and only.

She spotted the male across the way with his arm around Maera's waist, talking to some other people.  She excused herself as she made her way to Joonseo.

"Hey, Hon.  What are you talking about?"  Jieun asked, trying to replace Maera with her body instead.

The group Joonseo was talking to chuckled a little bit.  "What's up?"  Jieun asked, looking around before looking at Joonseo who wouldn't let go of Maera.

He coughed a bit and put his drink down on the table next to him.  "You see.. I'm kinda not interested in you anymore."  He said.

Jieun looked at Maera's smug smile before the students who were muttering little things.  "What do you mean?"  Jieun asked as she made eye contact with Joonseo.

"You were cool for a little while, but Maera's more up my alley."  He answered, looking at the girl who kissed his cheek after that.

"Excuse me?"  Jieun forced her cup into one of the guys in the audience, making the guy hold it.  "What the heck, Joonseo?"

He smirked and rolled his eyes.  "I dated you to get closer to Maera, she's more of my type.  She understands me more and isn't afraid to relax."  He started.  "You're always acting so tough and all.  I need a girl who can slow down for me."

Jieun huffed.  "What?  Do you mean your type isn't a girl who is responsible?  Maera is my age, and look at her!  She's already drinking whiskey!"  She raised her voice.

"Sometimes you gotta bend the rules,"  Maera started, flipping her fabulous hair, "it's only one drink, anyway.  You can't always act like you have a stick up your back, Jieun."  She chuckled.

Jieun looked around at the guys who started laughing; even Joonseo started laughing.  "Fine."  She held her hips.  "You make fun of me for doing what's right.  You make fun of me for trying to protect you all.  I hope you can relax in prison too."  She said, as she stole her drink back from the guy in the audience and stomped off.

Joonseo looked at Maera.  They both laughed and shrugged the heart-broken girl off.  "What's her problem?"  Maera huffed.

"She's Jieun, what isn't her problem?"  Joonseo rolled his eyes as he continued drinking.

Jieun sighed and leaned back against a wall, drinking from a water bottle instead.  She let the music in the house drown out her thoughts.  She saw the guests dancing and singing.  She didn't have the energy to do anything.  How could Joonseo do this to me..? She sighed once more and looked down at the floor.

She went up the stairs and went into a vacant bathroom, locking the door and putting herself against the wall.  She closed her eyes, letting her tears go down her cheeks.  And then she slowly falls asleep.

Downstairs, Baek looked around at the shallow man.  He shook his head before trying to find Jieun.  He saw her heels disappear at the stairs.  He hummed and finished his piece of cake.  He then silently made his way through the people to the stairs, going up to the quiet place.

He looked throughout the floor to find one of the bathrooms closed.  He noticed the lock on the door could be opened with a flat object.  He took his ring off of his finger and put the side in the lock, turning it quietly.  He heard a little snore and chuckled a bit.  Opening the door, he sees her on the floor.

"Jieun.."  He sighed and closed the door behind him.

He then sat against the wall next to her, putting his arm around her, causing her to wake up.  "Baek?"

"What are you doing in the bathroom?  The party's downstairs."  He commented.

She sighed and looked down.  "I don't want to be here anymore..  Joonseo-"

"I know, I watched."  He interrupted.  "Well let's forget about him and Maeri then."  He suggested, making her look up at him.

"What?"

He smiled and stood them up.  "Let's ditch this party and have a little party of our own."  He said.

Jieun looked at him and smiled softly, letting him walk her out.  They went through the crowd and left the building.  Hand-in-hand, Baek walks her to his car.

"I know this good chicken restaurant nearby,"  Baek said, driving them to the said place.

They sit down inside and thing start slowing down.  The walk to the car and ride to the restaurant felt fast, in Jieun's opinion.  But now they're seated and she can look at Baek's expression fully.  He noticed her stare lingering.  He smiled and sipped on his soda.

"It's okay, you don't have to be tense here."  He noticed her scared eyes.

She looked down at the table.  "Am I really that annoying to be around..?"  She asked, tracing cirlces along the gray table.

He put his drink down and stood up.  She watched him leave and sighed.  What surprised her was that he came back with two plates of chicken.  He placed one of the plates on her side and then one at his side of the table.

"Let's both be reasonably mature adults and eat."  Baek said with a proud smile.  "We don't need to break the rules to have fun, now do we?"  He asked, picking his chopsticks up and eating a piece of the chicken.

She nodded and snapped her chopsticks.  "Mh!  This is tasty!"  She complimented.

"I told you!  Oh, try it with their signature sauce."  He dipped a piece of his chicken in the small dish of sauce.  He then lifted the chicken to her lips.

She didn't hesitate to eat the chicken.  "That is wonderful."  She said with her cheeks full and her eyes turning to crescents.

He watched her enjoy her food and steal the sauce that he ordered.  He smiled and reached to pat her head.  She looked at him with a questioning smile.  "I like seeing you like this."  He commented softly.

She swallowed the chicken and cleared .  "What do you mean?"  She wiped her lips with her napkin.

"You look so happy right now."  He said.  "I like your happy smile more than your sad frown."  He continued, reaching to hold her hand that was absentmindedly placed on the table.

She smiled a bit, her ears turning red.  Her frown quickly comes by.  "Yowch!!"  She pulled her hand back to hover over .

Baek laughed and folded his arms.  "I was waiting for it to come.  Spicy, isn't it?"  He sat back in his seat and watched her drink her water to try to extinguish the fire in .

"Hot! Hot! Hot!"  She fanned her crying tongue.

"Jieun-ssi,"  He got her attention, although she was still dying from the spicy sauce, "I want to make you happy every day.  I've wanted to for quite some time."  He spoke softly.

She raised her eyebrows and put the burning sensation behind her.  "Baek..?"  She was confused.

"I want to be your boyfriend, Jieun."  He said politely.  "I know you just broke up with-"

"Yes."  Jieun interrupted him.  "I'll date you, Baek."

He looked at her in shock.  "Really?"  He asked with a smile.

"As long as you treat me better than Joonseo."  She said sassily, picking up the chicken and dipping it in the sauce, forgetting about it being hot.

He smiled and watched her.  "I'll treat you to chicken every night."  He promised, waiting for her reaction once more with a nonchalant smirk.

A few seconds pass by and she's on fire again.  This is a night to remember..  He thought.

I feel like there wasn't enough fluffy and cute things in this.
I just didn't pick up on any of those vibes with the lyrics of the song she sang.
I'm sorry that this wasn't what you wanted.  I approached it in a few different angles, and it still came out more angsty than fluffy.

However, thank you for requesting <3

Chapter 209: I appreciate your vision! This is definitely not what I have in mind so it is even better that you were able to spin my prompt in an entirely different direction.

Minghao's life was truly sad, and I'm glad he had Ella with him to weather through that. I thought the love between them were going to remain platonic, but I'm glad Minghao realized what that love truly meant for him in the end. I was a bit skeptical with the use of Sister and Brother to refer to each other, how do you think they got over that? Were they only calling each other that to keep up the facade (especially on Ella's part, as if she is trying to keep her feelings away, that sort of thing)?

Anyways thank you so much for this! ♥️♥️♥️
