Minseok arrived at Jongin's apartment after dropping Sehun off at the beach house.  He sighed and cracked his neck as he placed Sehun's phone next to the one Baekhyun took from Jongin.  He looked around the apartment as he heard Junmyeon's laughing.  He followed the laughs and was met with the kid's room.

He leaned on the door frame and watched as Jongdae was playing with Junmyeon.  "A baby playing with a kid.."  He commented.

Jongdae looked back at him with a smile.  "Honey, wouldn't it be something if we had a little life?"  He asked nervously as he settled down on the floor against the child's crib with Junmyeon in his arms.

Minseok frowned for a millisecond.  "Well, maybe in the future."  He sat himself down next to Jongdae.  "I don't think either of us are ready for a child."  He continued as he put his hand in Jungmyeon's short hairs.

Jongdae nodded and sighed inwardly.  "Really?"

"High school is just about finished for us, but then there's college and work."  He explained.  "How can we make time for our baby if we can't make time for ourselves?"  He asked before putting his lips on the younger's cheek.

"Jongin can do it.."  Jongdae muttered.

Minseok sighed.  "We're not them, okay?  I just want to make sure we're comfortable before we bring a life into the world, that's all.  I'm not against having a child, I just want it to have a good life."  He explained himself.

Jongdae noticed that Junmyeon fell asleep in his arms.  He stood up and carefully put the child in the crib.  Although Junmyeon is getting bigger, the child wanted to keep using the crib for a little bit longer.  He tucked the toddler in before silently walking out of the bedroom with his boyfriend.

"I could do it though.."  Jongdae muttered as he sat at the kitchen table.

Minseok looked at him with his arms folded.  "How do you know?  Jongin's stressed out before his classes begin.  And besides, it takes two to have a child.  If I'm reluctant, we're not having a child."

Jongdae furrowed his eyebrows.  "But-"

"I know that taking care of Junmyeon is sparking up feelings for you–it is for me too.  But I'm not ready for that responsibility.  I need to get myself straightened out before I teach a new life how to live."  Minseok said as he took a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water.

Jongdae understood.  The older wasn't saying all that to be selfish, but to care for the child.  He looked down at his stomach in his mind, wondering just how broken Minseok will be when he finds out.  He can't find out..  He couldn't help but start crying.  These darn hormones..

Minseok noticed the tears forming.  "Hey,"  He started softly, "I'm sorry for giving you a rude tone, Babe."  He sat down next to Jongdae.

Jongdae put himself in the other's open arms.  "Minseok..  I'm-"

"No, no.  I shouldn't have spoken to you like that.  I just want everything to work better, okay?  Once we're comfortable, we can begin trying."  Minseok tried to coax.

Jongdae nodded and looked to the corner.  He'll find out soon enough..  He decided to keep it in, despite what Jongdae had told him earlier in the week.  He's going to kill me either way.

"I love you.."  Jongdae muttered.

Minseok nodded and held him closer.  "I love you too, Babe."

I hope you really do..

It was a couple months later.  Everyone was gearing for the last month of high school.  Studying has become intense as the exams are looking to be the hardest they've ever come across.  That being said, Monday is the start of a brand new week.  Jongdae decided to wear his shirt untucked and his jacket ed.

"A bit unkempt, but I will allow it."  The man at the entrance of the high school critiqued as per usual.

Jongdae bowed before getting into the building.  Soon enough, Jongin's eyes were looking straight at the baggy shirt.  The stare was knowing and judging.

"You didn't tell him, did you?"  Jongin asked as he took his books out of his locker.

Jongdae didn't want to admit to it; however, he knew that Jongin was pretty smart when it comes to things like this.  The guy is looking to take all of the psycology classes in college, how could he not be a bit psychic already?

"Judging by the silence.."  Jongin stopped himself when he saw Minseok come up behind Jongdae.

"Hay, Babe!"  He put his arms around the younger's waist.

"Stop!"  Jongdae squealed in both surprise and worry.

Minseok questioned with his expression.  "What's wrong?  Are you sick?"  He asked as he felt the younger's forehead with the back of his hand.

The couple heard Jongin huff.  "Sorry,"  He said, "I'm going to class.  See you, Jongdae."

There was silence between the couple as they look eye-to-eye.  "I.. want to tell you something after school, okay?"

"Tell me now, please.  You're worrying me."  Minseok requested.

Jongdae looked at his watch.  "I don't want to repeat a grade for missing even just one class."  He said as he walked the same direction that Jongin just left in.

Minseok sighed and nodded.  He'll talk to me later about it, right?  He thought as he went the opposite direction to his classroom.

__

To Jongdae's disappointment, the end of the school day came by.  He kept in his seat even after Jongin left.  He couldn't help but cry over the conversation that will begin soon.  He's gotten countless texts from Minseok that he hasn't been able to reply to.  One reason is because Minseok texted him during class.

The other reason is that he just can't bring himself to say a word.  He has his phone in his hands, staring at the bright screen that displayed the text screen.  All messages were on Minseok's side.  He cares for me, at least.  Maybe it won't be as bad as I thought.  He tried to convince himself.

"Right,"  Jongdae stood up, "he wouldn't message me so much if he didn't care about me."  He nodded and grabbed his backpack.

As he was about to start walking down the isle of seats, the classroom door opened.  Jongdae makes shocked eye contact with Minseok.

"Jongdae-"  Minseok cut himself off with running up to the younger.  He put his arms around Jongdae protectively.  "I thought something bad happened to you.  Are you okay?  Please speak to me?"  He pulled away to lock eyes again.

Jongdae's eyes fill up with tears again.  "Are-are you sure you love me?"  Jongdae asked in a shaky breath and received a nod.  "No matter what, you'll love me?"  He asked weakly.

"What's the matter, Babe?  This has been eating at me all day.  I can't even remember what any of the teachers taught today."  He confessed as he thumbed the other's tears.

Jongdae reached to hold the hand that's on his cheek.  "Please don't hurt me,"  He begged as his eyebrows twitched and more tears appeared.  "Please don't leave me."

"I'm right here–I'll never leave you."  He said before putting their lips together.

Jongdae smiled in the kiss and melted.  Minseok's arms stay around the younger as the kiss ended.  "I'd like to talk to you somewhere else, though."  He requested as he found confidence.

Minseok nodded and grabbed Jongdae's backpack.  "Let's go then."  He said, linking their arms and walking out of the classroom.

Jongdae was excited.  I should have just told him earlier, of course he won't hate me! He giggled when they ran out of the school gate.  Minseok took note of how happy Jongdae seemed.

They make their way to a quiet park they frequent for dates.  It's a perfect place to talk because no one is usually around too much.  Seeing their comfort-zone, Jongdae gains enough courage.

"Okay,"  He sat them down on a bench, "please don't yell at me or hurt me for what I'm about to tell you."  He requested one more time.

"I would never, Babe."  Minseok said, thumbing the other's knuckles.

Jongdae smiled as he breathed in and out.  "I'm pregnant."  He made sure to keep eye contact.

Jongdae's smile faltered as he saw Minseok's eyes turn from caring to disbelief.  "You're joking, right?"  He asked, trying to keep his tone from going out of control.  "That's not funny, Dae."

The younger broke eye contact and took his hand from Minseok's tightening grip.  "You said you wouldn't hurt me.."  He said in a lowered voice.

"I want you to be serious with me,"  Minseok grabbed the other's shoulders, "you're just lying to me, right?"

"Kim Min-Seok,"  He started, over-pronouncing each syllable, "I'm pregnant with your child."  He stood up and looked down at him with serious eyes.

Minseok's eyes matched the younger's eyes.  "Since when?"  He asked as he stood up.  "I asked since when?!"  He held Jongdae's shoulder's tightly.

"I'm four months in.."  He said in a shaken voice.

Minseok ran a hand through his hair.  "And you didn't bother to tell me?  When did you find out?"  He asked as he tugged at his own roots.

Jongdae looked down with a frown.  "I only figured out when I was two months along.."

"I.."  Minseok raised his hand and watched the younger squeal in fright.  "I can't talk to you right now."  He lowered his hand and turned around.

Jongdae reached out to the male who was power-walking away from him.  His eyes flooded and fell on his knees as Minseok left the park without him.  I thought he loved me..  His crying became audible and he didn't care if anyone passed by him.

The atmosphere turned from love to hate in the matter of seconds—it only took the short sentence for Minseok's mood to turn sour.  He was going to slap me..  He realized.

He held his mouth as he looked around the park.  There were a few sets of eyes on him, but none that said that they wanted to interfere.  He stood up and made his way out of the park.  Jongin's going to snap at me, but I need someone right now.  He walked his way to Jongin's apartment.

"Jongdae?  What's up?"  Jongin asked as he opened the apartment door while stirring something in a bowl.

He let the younger walk in and put the bowl down on the countertop.  "Why are you crying?"  He asked as he lifted the other's chin.

"I told Minseok.."  He said in his sobs, "he hates me, Jongin.. he hates me!"

Jongin sighed and brought the younger closer to him, shushing him and patting his back.  "He's probably upset that you waited so long to tell him.  I know Sehun would have really been mad if I waited longer."

"Did he snap at you when he found out you were pregnant?  Either time?"  Jongdae asked seriously as he was put down on a dining chair.

Jongin shook his head.  "Sehun was worried about Junmyeon, but he never got mad at me–it wasn't only me who made the baby."  He answered as he poured the contents of the bowl into a glass dish.

Jongdae watched the older put the dish in the oven and set a timer.  His attention was then fully on Jongdae.  "Where is Junmyeon?"  He asked cautiously.

"He said he wanted to clean his room from the little play date he had with Sooji the other day."  He answered.  "Just two years old and he's being as responsible as Sehun.."  He sighed with a small smile.

Jongdae looked down at the table.  "I don't think I have the energy for a child, Jongin.."  He confessed.  "I love how Junmyeon reacts to everything with those fascinated eyes and wowed lips, but I don't think I can handle a child alone.."

Jongin nodded and held the younger's hand.  "It takes awhile to get used to being a single parent."  Jongin started.  "I don't get to see Sehun everyday, I can't talk to him whenever I want to, and Junmyeon only gets a couple hours out of the weekend to talk to him.

"It's hard, Jongdae."  Jongin said with low eyes.  "It's going to be harder for you knowing that Minseok won't even have any part of his life with your baby."

Jongdae nodded and put his forehead on the table.  "Should I..?  No, I can't.."  He held his stomach as his tears keep flowing.

Jongin sighed and looked down at his ownself.  Six more months for me, but five for him..  "Who knows, maybe Minseok just needs a bit to think.  Maybe he'll stay by your side."  Jongin tried to lift the other's spirit.

"He was going to hit me, Jongin."  Jongdae lifted his head.  "If he would hit me for this, what if I do something worse in the future?  I don't want my baby to get hurt because he's mad."

Jongin heard Junmyeon's door open.  "We'll talk more later."  Jongin whispered before walking to the little one.  "Is your room clean?  Show daddy~"  He cooed and walked with Junmyeon.

Jongdae sighed and took out his phone.  He contemplated on sending another text.  Maybe it was just an accident.. He wouldn't seriously want to hurt me, right?  No..  He nodded and put his phone away.

***

It was the next week.  This week marks the week of taking the final exams.  Everything was hectic from the start of the day.  Students were running around in hallways and muttering in libraries.  Nothing was organized as even the scholars of the school were in a rush to cram in more information.

Jongdae walked to his locker and was moving some stuff around.  "Dae.."  He heard Minseok's voice.  He turned around to face the other who has been ignoring him all last week.

"I.."  He scratched the back of his head.  "Good luck with your exams.."  He said as he was starting to walk away.

"You- ack!"  He held his stomach.  "Shoot,"  He leaned against the locker.

Minseok looked back at him and furrowed his eyebrows.  He remembered how Jongin had some moments of pain just like that.  He'll be fine.  He thought.  He would always laugh at how Sehun would be overly worried at every, little thing that happened to Jongin.  He walked away to his classroom without a worry in his head.

Jongdae started sweating.  "Four months and I'm already weak.."  He said quietly aloud.  He closed his locker and went to his classroom.

Jongin seemed to be just fine.  He occassionally massaged his stomach and hummed a bit.  "You're acting like he's only weeks away.."  Jongdae commented.

"Babies feel their parents' love from the moment the cells start dividing."  Jongin gave a smile.  "And just like with Junmyeon, I want to give all my love to this little one, no matter how far along he is."

Jongdae sighed and looked down at his small bump.  How can he have the energy to smile?  I barely got up this morning!  He inwardly complained.  "How did Sehun's visit go?"

Jongin's smile grew bigger.  "He's going to be finished his night classes at the end of the month!  He'll get to move in with us~"  He said with an excited tone.  "Junmyeon wants to throw a party.."

How can their lives be so perfect?  They barely see each other and have another kid on the way, how?!  Jongdae wouldn't admit to anyone, not even himself, that he's jealous.

"He'll be getting promoted at his job too.  This is what we've been waiting for, Dae.  We'll finally be complete."  Jongin gave a face that could tell people all around the galaxy that he was truly happy.

Jongdae faked a smile and raised his thumb.  Jongin's sparkly eyes get a bit dim, however.  "I'm sorry, Jongdae.  This must be really upsetting for you to hear."  He put his hand on Jongdae's shoulder.

"No, it's fine.  I'm happy for you guys."  He lied.  "Maybe I'll find myself a man who will love me like that."

Jongin turned toward his desk in silence even though the teacher hasn't come in yet.  Jongdae inwardly sighed and directed his attention to the front of the classroom absentmindedly.  Maybe I'm worrying over nothing..  He lied to himself.

***

Finals went how they needed to go.  Studying paid off and slacking gave consequences.  Jongdae passed his grade with a lower grade than what he wanted, but he's been depressed for the past month and a half.

"Young man,"  Jongdae heard his mother from the sink, "what's the meaning of this?  Just because you're pregnant doesn't give you the right to get low grades!"

Jongdae sighed.  He knows he can't use being pregnant to be an excuse, but it's been hard on him.  Countless nights he's been staying up alone with the kid making him puke.  Head aches and fevers followed after each bout of morning sickness.

"Are you even listening to her?"  His father asked as he put down his cereal spoon.  "Jong-dae!"  He called out as Jongdae just played with the ice in his water.

"Stop shouting at me!"  Jongdae stood up from the table and looked at his parents.  "I don't know why you're giving me so much attitude-"

His speech was cut off early as there was someone at the front door.  His father gave the look that told Jongdae to go answer the door.  He reluctantly went to the door and opened it.  He saw Minseok standing there with his parents.  Oh brother..  Their parents couldn't ever stand being in the same building as each other.

The three push past the younger.  He brushed it off and closed the door.  "Let the adults talk."  Minseok's mother said at the teenagers.

"I-"

"Shut up and go upstairs."  Jongdae's father said as he pointed at the stairs.

Minseok snatched the younger's wrist and walked him up the familiar steps.  Although their parents couldn't ever get along, the children could get along well with the parents.

"Jongdae, we have to talk about our situation."  Minseok seated the younger on Jongdae's bed as he took the chair at the desk.

Jongdae's eyes were already growing wet just hearing the tone Minseok gave.  "What about it?"  He muttered as he reached for the almost-empty tissue box on his nightstand.

"I'm not ready for a child yet, Jongdae."  He put it simply.  "Jongin and Sehun started being responsible right after they figured out what they did, but you stole four and a half months away from me."

Jongdae couldn't argue with that.  He could have at least told him when he was two months along, that would have been better.  "You can't just leave us, Minseok."  He tried to speak steadily but his voice trembled easily.

Minseok sighed and shook his head.  "I'm sorry, Dae, but for once I need to be selfish.  I can't support a kid and you with my grades.  I'm not Sehun."  He replied as he folded his arms.  "I'm not interested in fixing my grades or clearing my reputation yet."

Jongdae gritted his teeth.  "You-you..  You said you love me.."

Minseok nodded.  "I do, but I can't handle this.. I'm sorry- Wait, no I'm not."  Minseok stood up and looked down at the younger.  "You should have told me from day one of what happened.  It's your fault, not mine."

Jongdae stood up and locked eyes with the other.  "It's your baby too, you have responsibility!"  He yelled.

Minseok huffed.  "I'm not taking responsibility.  My parents had me signed up to go abroad to study a year ago, remember?  So even if I wanted to, I couldn't be with you."

Jongdae's heart shattered.  "You're just going to leave me that easily, huh?"  He asked with raised eyebrows as he sat back down on his bed.  "Was there even any love in our relationship?  Or did we just want to be like Sehun and Jongin?"  He muttered.

Minseok held his hips and looked the other way.  "I'm leaving now."  He stated.  "Good luck with the baby and don't do anything stupid."  Were his last words.

Jongdae heard his bedroom door close followed by the front door.  Just like the months prior, Jongdae fell on his side and cried—feeling lost and lonely; cold and abandoned.  Was it really all just one-sided?  He could hear his parents yelling for him but he just lay there.

The life was out of him and he'll be surprised if this child ever grows.  I hope you're having more fun in me than I am out here.. He inwardly spoke to the child as he held his stomach.

He let his tears drown him to sleep.

Thank you for requesting again~
This one really struck me in the feels.  This and the last story really show the differences in circumstances, huh?
Hopefully I wrote this well, and I'm sorry for the long wait.

Chapter 209: I appreciate your vision! This is definitely not what I have in mind so it is even better that you were able to spin my prompt in an entirely different direction.

Minghao's life was truly sad, and I'm glad he had Ella with him to weather through that. I thought the love between them were going to remain platonic, but I'm glad Minghao realized what that love truly meant for him in the end. I was a bit skeptical with the use of Sister and Brother to refer to each other, how do you think they got over that? Were they only calling each other that to keep up the facade (especially on Ella's part, as if she is trying to keep her feelings away, that sort of thing)?

Anyways thank you so much for this! ♥️♥️♥️
