    Yerin drove her jeep through the small airport of her little hometown. She peeked out of the jeep to catch a glance of the man who she was to pick up.
 

"So, you are telling me that he is tall and handsome. Thank you very much very helpful." Yerin snickered at her friend. "Sowon, I need specific details. I can see many people here. It's the holiday season and of course there'll be many men who are tall and supposedly handsome."
 

Yerin continued driving slowly as she complained at her friend but right then she catches the image of man with a huge luggage. Handsome. Check. Tall. Check. Well, he did meet those two criterias. She could take her chance.
 

"Name. Cha Eunwoo. Age. Mid-twenties. Right. I'll speak to you later." Yerin giggled and drove past him and stopped with little distance. She put her head out of the jeep and yelled. "Are you Cha Eunwoo?" The man lowered down his camera and looked at her.
 

Yerin immediately hopped off the jeep and walked towards him.
 

"Are you the one here to pick me up?" He asked peeking behind her to look at the jeep and then look at her. Yerin was clad in a short and her tshirt tucked into her shorts, over the outfit she wore a maxi cardigan.

She nodded in response. "Sowon has to manage the restaurant."
 

"Come. Let me help you load it into the jeep." Yerin offered but Eunwoo being the gentleman he is refused and did the job.
 

As Yerin drove, she constantly stole glances at the man who was staring outside of the jeep his line of vision was slowly meeting the view in front of him. Sowon's restaurant  was situated by the coastal area of the town. 
 

Yerin cleared to break the silence. "So, I heard that though you bought a trailer you don't have a license for it." 
 

Eunwoo's eyes widened in response and he turned to look at her. "Ah, that! I studied too hard and got my dream job so finally I'm here to spend my vacation. I water to spend a month living in a trailer and go surfing and scuba diving."
 

Interestingly, Yerin was momentarily distracted by the gleams in his eyes that held so much excitement for this trip. She found it attractive and charming. She hummed in response and realized that she had been focusing on his rather than on the road. Thank the gods that the roads were straight if not by now they would be on their fine way to the hospital.
 

"It sure is exciting." She murmured and turned the volume up of their radio where a familiar song made her sing louder drowning her voice.
 

Eunwoo pulled out his camera and clicked the view of the horizon. He realized that it was after noon and the sun was still shining brightly and the crystal blue colour illuminated made a breathtaking view with the off tune voice of her singing to the song. He still did not get her name. He turned to look at her and noticed how very unusual she was from the girls he had met and known. She had her own rules and her own quirks which was charming and attracts to him. Her hair was dyed in brown and had few highlighted strips of hair in pink and purple. Her bangs were swaying as the wind hit her face. She was simply beautiful and she was drawing him towards her.
 

 
Eunwoo pulled out the surfboard he just purchased from the jeep and placed it besides his trailer. He buried his hands into his pocket and gazed at the vast stretch of sea laying infront of him. Suddenly the laughter of a woman caught his attention and he followed his gaze to find the woman who was none other than the person who drove him. He smiled as she ran with a dog and almost gasped when she fell onto the sand, instead of cries of pain he heard the sound of laughter as she rolled over and let the dog on top of her.
 

"Hey, Eunwoo." Moonbin his friend called him as he exited the trailer. Eunwoo paid no attention and continued gazing at Yerin as he was lost in a world where the only two of them existed. His lips were smiling widely in a definite admiration.
 

Moonbin continued explaining to a inattentive Eunwoo about the trailer. Moonbin finally realizing that he was not paying attention pulled him into a headlock. "What you doing man?"
 

Eunwoo snapping out, pulled away from his friend and stood straight and pointed with his chin. "She looks happy."
 

"Yes, she does but she was dumped here." Eunwoo frowned. "Nevertheless, makes me and Sowon happy. Makes our life brighter." Moonbin admitted and Eunwoo smiled at that. She sure did look like a bright ball of sunshine.
 

"You can take to Seoul if you like." His friend suggested after a while.

"Really? Can I?" Eunwoo asked astonished.
 

"'Course you can. You just got to ask." Moonbin shrugged.
 

"Really?"
 

"Just get her neutered." Eunwoo almost felt his eyes bulged out. He was speaking about the dog.
 

"What the ! You were speaking about the dog!" He asked exasperated.
 

Moonbin nodded and then looked at him. "Wait, you were speaking about Yerin." And after a while of silence which confirmed his words he started laughing rolling over the sand. 
 

"I should be the one laughing at you." Eunwoo sulked.
 

Night time at the beach was very lively. Eunwoo closed his trailer and walked along the shore as he made his way towards Sowon's and Moonbin's restaurant. He could hear music and the yell of people from the restaurant from a considerable amount of distance. The beach was not dark as they have lights everywhere and especially many places were decorated with fairy lights which was a pretty sight.
 

He greeted Moonbin who was grilling meat outside with a fist bump and entered the restaurant. He made his quick way to the kitchen to meet Sowon who was a good friend of his alike Moonbin. They always invited him to the places they travelled.
 

"Noona." He waved and she pulled him into a hug. "Nice to see you little Eunwoo." She never dropped the 'little' reference. He shook his head and then she told him that he could join the crowd in playing games and socializing.
 

Eunwoo was not much of a socializing person but a certain familiar loud voice caught his attention. He saw Yerin in a crowd as she was joyfully playing with ping pong balls. Whenever she or someone of her team won she would yell loudly and jump with her hands in the air. She was oozing with fun and happiness. He never let his eyes off from her.
 

At some point, she was bound to catch his stares. She waved at him and motioned him to join her but he simply shook his head. She sighed and faked a sad face but nevertheless made her way towards him.
 

"You should join the fun." Was the first thing she said as she sat besides him in the couch.
 

"I'm boring." He said with slight embarrassment because it was true and he did not want to appear less appealing in front of her.
 

"Nah, I don't think so. I like people with weird sense of humor. I know that you are funny inside but just didn't meet the people who understand that humor of yours."  She reasoned out to make him feel better. "Anyways! No one here will judge you and you know atleast I won't judge you if that reassures you."
 

"Very much." He stood up and pulled her towards another game table and they spent the time playing games together. He had to admit that this was the first time in a while he was truly having genuine fun.
 

Yerin pulled him away from the crowd. "Come, I want to take you somewhere." She whispered and she interwined their hands. She pulled out her phone and played a playlist of songs that gave summer and beach vibes.
 

"Isn't it nice?" She asked him. Eunwoo hummed in response and turned to look at her. She was beautiful and his heart felt warm. Looking down at their interwined hands made his stomach flip in excitement. They were already comfortable in each other's presence.
 

"We are here." She pulled him a little harsher and now they were inside a cave which was lit with fairy lights.
 

His sight met with many tall candles that were lit. It did give a spooky vibe but it wasn't scary but rather romantic. Almost like the perfect place to confess your beloved.
 

"I know it's cliche but this cave to have it's own legend. So, they say that a mermaid and a human fell in love inside this cave. The man came here everyday to light up a candle hoping to meet her one day. And finally one day she appeared in human form. People say now that if you light a candle here your loved one would come to you. But, now lovers come together and carve their names in the candle and light it up but strangely at night someone comes and lit up these candles every night since the candles tend to go off due to the wind." Yerin said as she bent down to light a candle that had it's fire die away.
 

"It is cliche but people love to listen to legends even if it is made up. It just add more beauty to it." Eunwoo responded and bent down and held cupped the fire she just lit.
 

Their eyes met and they held it for a moment or was it for an eternity?  did not believe in love in first sight but now he did. He saw the world inside her eyes. He may have not dated many woman but he knew the moment when he looked into her eyes that they were compatible and that they had a future that would be adventurous. He knew that he was going to spend a lifetime with her. She was going to light up his world. She was going to compliment his boring self and maybe also share the same sense of humor like she said. He didn't believe in legends but as for now this cave did mean the same as it did for that man who waited for his mermaid.
 

Hello! The first few parts of the story was actually inspired from a scene of the drama.  I'm sorry for the long wait. Covid happened and life is hectic haha. I hope you enjoyed this and there was enough romance in this.
